The Cisco Business Dashboard is designed to manage Cisco Business switches, routers, and wireless access points. It simplifies traditional challenges in deploying and managing business networks while automating the deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management of the network. The 1300 Series switches support an embedded probe as well as direct management, eliminating the need to set up a separate hardware or virtual machine onsite. The device onboarding wizard simplifies the setup and onboarding of new devices to the network.

The Cisco Catalyst 1300 Series Switches support dual images, allowing you to perform software upgrades with minimal network downtime.

Support for advanced network security applications such as IEEE 802.1X and port security tightly limits access to specific segments of your network. Advanced defense mechanisms, including dynamic Address Resolution Protocol (ARP) inspection, IP Source Guard, and Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) snooping, detect and block deliberate network attacks.

As the IP address scheme evolves to accommodate a growing number of network devices, the Cisco Catalyst 1300 Series Switches can support the transition to the next generation of networking. These switches continue to support previous-generation IPv4, allowing you to evolve to the new IPv6 standard at your own pace and helping ensure that your current network will continue to support your business applications in the future.

The Cisco Catalyst 1300 Series Switches enable a more advanced set of traffic management capabilities to help growing businesses organize their networks more effectively and efficiently. For example, the switches provide dynamic Layer 3 routing, allowing you to segment your network into workgroups and communicate across VLANs without degrading application performance.

This switch supports Front Panel Stacking for up to eight switches, allowing you to configure, manage, and troubleshoot all switches in a stack as a single unit with a single IP address.

The sleek and compact design for the Cisco Catalyst 1300 Series Switches provides additional deployment flexibility, including installation outside the wiring closet for sites such as retail stores, open-plan offices, and classrooms without disturbing the environment.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this connect to a NAS (ie Q-NAP 872XT) via standard ethernet cable?

A: While the Sonnet Solo 10G Thunderbolt 3 to 10 Gigabit Ethernet Fanless Adapter with NBASE-T Support can physically connect to a NAS via Ethernet, it wouldn't allow for direct communication between a computer and the NAS, as the NAS will need to be routed through a network switch first.

Q: 2. is this backwards compatible with THUNDERBOLT 2?

A: The QNAP Thunderbolt 3 to 10 Gb/s SFP+ Adapter is not rated for use with a bandwidth bottleneck via an adapter, such as Thunderbolt 2 would present.

Q: 3. What’s the latency?

A: Generally, the expected latency of the Blackmagic Design 2110 IP Mini BiDirect 12G Converter would be about 2 frames, but if the signals are gen-locked, the latency would then decrease to just a few lines of resolution.

Q: 4. will this work, at a slower speed, on USB 3.1 Gen 1 Port (macbook 12")?

A: No this product requires a Thunderbolt 3 port on the computer.

Q: 5. Can this product convert or decode srt, tcp, rtsp transmissions from other systems? Like the teradek bond backpack or a live u?

A: The Blackmagic Design 2110 IP Mini BiDirect 12G Converter is not able to convert or decode SRT, TCP, or RTSP transmissions. It is designed to be used in studio environments with SMPTE-2110 IP systems.

Q: 6. Is a separate SFP network connection required for each channel of video?

A: Yes, the Blackmagic Design 2110 IP Converter 8x12G SFP will require an SFP for each channel of video.

Q: 7. How much bus power is required for this unit?

A: The manufacturer does not specify, however a device such as this can range anywhere from 5-10 W maximum.

Q: 8. work with usb c?

A: No, unfortunately this item requires a Thunderbolt 3 connection.

Q: 9. What are the specific MAC settings to get the most speed, using Mojave OS10.14?

A: Ethernet: 10GbaseT Duplex setting: Full-duplex MTU: Jumbo

Q: 10. Would you be able to use two of these to create a point to point system instead of hooking into a network?

A: Yes, you can use two Blackmagic Design 2110 IP Mini BiDirect 12G Converter to create a point to point system.

[2000] I have primarily used HPE/Aruba switches for the last 20 years but they are becoming more and more expensive and more difficult to recommend to small clients. I tested out a Netgear M4300 3 years ago and it had all of the features I needed for a much better price.
This is actually the 4th Netgear M4300 model I have purchased and its a great device. It has a large feature set similar to the HPE/Aruba switches I have used before. The web and command-line interface are both fairly intuitive. The manuals are very detailed.

[29.5 dB] All or our traffice will now traverse through this 10GB highway. This is our network migration to a 10GB backbone. Pretty awesome for a Catholic church.

[Internal] Using the 10 gigabit ports really speed up access to my NAS. Easy to configure and so far works great.

[Yes] Just plugged it in and UniFi found it, upgraded it, and had it working.
It would be nice if it had some 10G BaseT ports, since 10GBaste T SFP+ modules seem to be iffy at best.
Unifi really needs to add more available 10G switch types.

[8] We have used the Cisco SG series switches for many years and were disappointed when the line was discontinued but the new CBS line is just as good. Some minor variations in how the software is laid out but otherwise, they are just as easy to use as the SG line.

[29.5 dB] Out of the box using 10G hardware, I was getting slow speeds that were far below even 1G. After some troubleshooting, applying the latest firmware (1.1.0.20220128 for me) immediately did the trick and I now experience what is reasonable for a 10G connection.

I am a fan of QNAP products, and this has delivered the goods as well.

[178.57 Mpps] Needed to build a new NAS for my home office and needed a few Gigabit ports but also a few 10Gb ports. Was surprised how few good options there were for 10Gb switches. Under $500 USD there were either 4x 1 Gb and 1x 10Gb port or 4-5x 10Gb ports. Both options not working because of the few amount of ports. Found this one and it was so much better than other options.

Have not used the smart web based features. So this was plug and play with my multi computer and multi NAS office.

Very happy with it and will recommend to anyone needing a future proof switch!

[Yes] I removed my old unmanaged 1gb switch and put this one in its place. It was plug-and-play. Much faster not quite 10x faster maybe 8x in real-world use.
