The MID49 Base Kit Canon C70 | Compact Rig Solutionfrom MID49 Base Kit Canon C70 | Compact Rig Solutionis a form-fitting cage with 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 threaded holes that are surrounded by ARRI-compatible anti-twist divots, and multiple M4 x 20mm ARRI-spaced threaded holes. The cage includes two 15mm Accessory rods that feature 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 threaded holes with anti-twist divots as well as a cold shoe mount and a contoured recess for a variety of MID49 audio breakout boxes. The cage features an integrated HDMI protector clamp for secure cable attachment and a front lens support mount that supports 3rd party lens adapters such as Metabones and others.

[ARRI Dovetail] Fixes the mess of threads Canon decided would be acceptable configuration for a cinema camera. The side NATO rail is perfect for adding your choice of side handle and makes the C70 even more comfortable for handheld use. Best of all it's well made and reasonably priced. 5

[ARRI Dovetail] Save money by purchasing the kit rather than the individual pieces over time. I opted for the kit since I knew I'd use the rails at some point. After picking up the Title matte box, I now use this setup 100% of the time on my commercial gigs. Grab a sturdy tripod and a top handle and you're off to the races. Built tight without any wiggle. Durable and feels like it's last for a long time. I would definitely buy another one if I ever pick up another C70. 5

[ARRI Dovetail] I had anxiety using the smallrig top plate to connect a top handle, monitor and microphone. All of that weight was pulling on a single screw on top of the C70 cold shoe. I felt it was only a matter of time till it broke. I forked over the extra cash for the Shape cage and I'm glad I did. Now the cage connects via the top screw, bottom two screws and is connected via a side plate. I feel much more secure adding accessories and the hdmi clamp was a big feature for why I chose this cage. The clamp is small, so I cannot use my thick right angle hdmi, I have to use a normal cable. However, it is extremely secure now. Overall, this cage makes me feel more confident using my gear. 5

[ARRI Dovetail] Purchase this over the summer, to help a teacher use her iPhone during live and pre-recorded instruction. It works great! Fantastic design with numerous mounting options for whatever accessory you might have. Very comfortable to hold with the side grips, or you can mount to a tripod or clamp with 1/4”-20 screw. Zero complaints! 5

[ARRI Dovetail] I love this camera cage. I'm now able to mount two wireless transmitters or one wireless and one shotgun mic along with a small light (on an arm) and the powered articulated hand grip control. Plus, the option to offset the camera plate for gimble devices. It's lightweight but tough as hell. 5
