A: You can shoot full frame in lower resolution if you record to ProRes. RAW resolution will vary depending on the amount of sensor used (full Frame is 8K Super35 6K etc)

Q: 2. Is the Canon Cine Servo 25-250 using an EF-RF adapter compatible with this camera when shooting 8k?

A: The Canon CINE-SERVO 25-250 will cover up to a Super35 sensor size. With the RED Raptor, you will be able to shoot up to 6K without any vignette.

Q: 3. Can I use EF lenses?

A: In Full Frame the Camera will record in 8K RAW. every resolution underneath that will window (or crop) in on the sensor.

A: We have not heard of any customers having issues with the V-Raptor however we recommend using shielded 12G rated SDI cables with this camera as a precaution to prevent issues from occurring.

Q: 7. Does this camera crop in to each lower resolution like every other RED Digital Cinema camera?

A: Yes it does.

A: RED does not list the native ISO. In the past RED users suggest 800 as a starting point for your exposure and LUT.

[Stills & Video] Very nice DR and color. 8k 120 fps is buttery but you need a bit more light and it only does 8k 120 in lq mode. Every accessory that goes with it is expensive. And don’t you dare think of getting a 1tb cfast express. It’ll chew through that. 2 to 4tb cards are best. It also loves power so get the bigger 150 Vmounts. 5

[Micro V-Mount] As now in combination with the Komodo X have continuous focus with compatible Canon RF lenses, and few days ago released face tracking for V-raptor can’t wait to test it on the Raptor :) ! Also the tools for manual focus like peaking is so helpful ! 5

[8.5 lb] I'm coming straight from my Gemini DSMC2 system. I've never owned SmallHD monitors, but have rented them before. I've only used this monitor for a day, but my initial impressions are: - Accessing the RED menus is so much easier than the old DSMC2 RED monitors - Brightness is great, I have no problem working outside in bright sunlight. It has an easily accessible studio brightness setting too - Colors are spot on - Direct power is amazing (don't forget to read the instructions on how to plug in the cable) I'm so glad I dropped the $$ on this. Definitely a must-have. 5

[Micro V-Mount] Great build as expected from SmallHD, easy OS to navigate, its amazing for a clean setup with the KomodoX. One of the best purchases of the year, just make sure to get a hood if you shoot outside a lot. 5

[Stills & Video] I usually always dislike camera monitors, but there is nothing more easy to use than this. Only takes a tiny cord to get it up and going, no hdmi or sdi. Used to be pretty buggy but the updates have helped the functions tremendously and I can't recommend this monitor enough. 5

[Canon RF] This camera was a perfect upgrade from the Komodo. The size and functions are so similar but you gain all the other benefits of a full frame sensor. Get the DSCM3 monitor, it's a perfect compliment! No need for an SDI or power cable, it makes it so easy to use. You can also do a magnify zoom in on actual pixels unlike a standard monitor. 5
