Q: 1. How long do they measure physically?

A: The dimensions of the BLAZAR LENS Remus 45/65/100mm kit are the following. The 45mm is 90mm in length, The 65mm is 101mm in length, and the 100mm is 110mm in length.

Q: 2. Would this work with RED DIGITAL CINEMA RAVEN EF-Mount and putting an Cooke S4i on board?

A: No, because the rear element length from the mount is greater than 14mm.

Q: 3. How compatible is this mount with CP3 lenses using BMPCC 6KPRO ?

A: It would be best to use the PL adapter from Wooden Camera. Although other lenses may work with this adapter, only the lenses below have been tested for proper operation. Canon 20-35mm T4 Ruby 14-24mm T2.8 Angenieux Optimo 15-40 mm T 2.6 Angenieux Optimo 17-80 mm T 2.2 Angenieux Optimo 28-70 mm Angenieux Optimo 24-290 mm Angenieux 24-290 mm T 2.8 Angenieux 17-102 mm T 2.9 Angenieux 7-81 mm T 2.4 HR Angenieux 20-120 mm Canon 300 mm T 2.8 Canon 400 mm T 2.8 Canon 800 mm T 5.6 Canon Century 200 mm T 2 Cooke 18-100 mm T 3 Nikkor 200 mm T 2 Nikkor 300 mm T 2 Nikkor 800 mm T 5.6 Nikkor Micro 200 mm T4 Canon Century Optics S2000 150-600mm

Q: 4. Why doesn't the 100mm Remus come with an EF mount option like the other ones?

A: The BLAZAR LENS Remus 100mm T2.8 Full-Frame 1.5x Anamorphic Lens EF mount is offered as a separate option for this lens by Blazar. BLAZAR LENS Remus 1.5x Anamorphic Lens Mount Adapter (Canon EF) BH #BLREEFMT

Q: 5. I am using a Sony A7S with Metabones E-mount to Canon EF adaptor. I want an EF mount TO PL mount so I can use my Fuji Cabrio 19-90 on the A7S. So I'd have TWO separate adapters to get from Sony E-mount to Canon EF to PL-mount. Will this adapter accomplish that? I think I need both adapters attached in order to clear the mirror.

A: This combination is unknown so you would be on your own as far as testing it. I would say from my years of movie camera assisting, I would not feel confident with such a set up if offered. I would be concerned with maintaining the proper depth and not feel confident it would work all day, every day. I would suggest instead that for using the the Fujinon Cabrio, use a proper PL to E-mount adapter. Keep in mind that when using the Fujinon ZK19-90mm T2.9 Cabrio Premier Lens (PL Mount) on your Sony a7S, the camera must be in crop mode since the lens is for Super35 and will not cover the a7S full frame.

Q: 6. is this compatible with DZO Vespid primes lenses?

A: The FotodioX Pro Lens Mount Adapter ARRI PL to Canon EF is not compatible with DZO Vespid primes lenses.

Q: 7. will this pl to ef adaptor work with a ursa mini pl ?

A: That's right! This adapter is for PL to EF. You need adapter EF to PL.

Q: 8. How is it that DZO can make a 12mm full frame lens that accepts front lens filters, yet their 16mm can not?

A: The DZOFilm VESPID 16mm T2.8 Cine Lens (B&H # DZ16VPL) has a convex glass design that would not allow for threaded filters to mount. Usually, matte boxes are the solution for filters paired with cine lenses, with the exception of some that can support threaded filters. It's also DZOFIlm discretion to produce the type and style of cine lenses within their collection.

Q: 9. Does this lens have a lot of distortion? And would it hit the mirror of a DSLR if the camera is converted to PL Mount?

A: The DZOFilm VESPID 12mm T2.8 Cine Lens (ARRI PL & Canon EF) does have some noticeable barrel distortion around the edges. I suggest viewing some images shot with the the lens to determine for yourself if the amount of distortion is a deal breaker for you or not. So long as the camera has a PL mount, you shouldn't have any problems using the PL mount of the DZOFilm VESPID 12mm T2.8 Cine Lens (ARRI PL & Canon EF).

Q: 10. Will these lenses be mount swappable? (EF-PL)?

A: Yes, the BLAZAR LENS Remus 45/65/100mm T2.0 Full-Frame 1.5x Anamorphic 3-Lens Kit with Case (Canon EF, Blue Flare) are mount swappable between EF and PL. You can find the optional mounts here: https://bhpho.to/42QGmf0

[T2] I’ve had many of the affordable anamorphics that are out. They were all disappointing with their pinstripe flares. Pincushion distortion, and otherwise forgettable image.

These are not that! These have the character that one looks for in more expensive lenses like the Atlas Mercury’s. And in my experience with both, the Mercury’s and now owning the Remus’ I cannot imagine spending 10x the amount for the Atlas Mercury lenses when these exist.

These were one of the best and most surprising purchases I’ve ever made.

It’s clear that China is not messing around and are coming for blood, because these are killer!

[Silver] I just received this lens set TODAY so please take this all with a grain of salt. This is also being done without shimming so there may be a little bit of blurriness that normally wouldn't be there. I added 2.39 bars to help see what an end image may look like.

I really wanted to see the differences between the Great Joy Set and the Remus. I've uploaded some photos to help people choose.

Overall I think I may go with the Remus as they seem to actually sharpen up closely to the Great Joy's when opened to 2.8T. they also seem to actually have a little more color constancy between each other (However, I did my test on a cloudy day so the sun may have played a factor).

To play to the favor of the Great Joy set they are a little cleaner and I would say might be a better set of lenses for commercial style work where as the Remus set seem to lean into the Narrative a bit more.

Hope this is a little helpful! Both sets of lenses are totally worth the money.

[77 mm x 0.75] I bought a set of Viltrox anamorphic lenses, which are amazing, but I wanted something smaller and lighter for my FX6/Ronin 4D. These Blazar lenses are a lot of fun. I only have the 65 so far, which I find wide enough for most situations without having the issues in the corners that the 45 had. Waiting to try out their new ones, I just need something slightly wider and another slightly tighter. Waiting to hear what they say about the new additions.

[16] Bought these to use with various cameras to get an anamorphic feel. I really like the look. They aren’t super sharp but fairly well built for the price, have a nice character and actually give a cinematic look. Maybe not 2 x character but for the price I love them.

[ARRI PL] When I saw the many video reviews and demos of the Remus Lenses and the price for a set, I knew that they were going to be my first venture into anamorphic lenses.

Although it took almost 3 months to get the set, it was well worth the wait. I recommend this model, for it's budget and it's quality build. It's really amazing.

[ARRI PL] This lens looks great, has interesting flares and has character up the wazoo. I love the distortion of this lens. It may be my PL mount, but the lens is a bit too soft at the moment at distances past 10 meters, and I'll have it checked out soon at a rental house with focus charts. Besides that, so amazing!

[T2] I've only done tests on location with these before the shoot I've been planning next week... These lenses have a dreamy, droopy, anamorphic look wide open, but I wouldn't suggest using them wide open unless you need a dreamy look. Super soft wide open. At T2.8 it gets better but T4 is where it actually gets sharp. For more context, I'm shooting on a C70, and we know that camera is on the softer side...

Aperture/Focus rings are smooth and a pleasure to use.

Focus breathing is not great, but depending on the shot your going after, it could be ok. They do some funky things when panning or handheld. I plan to use these lenses mostly locked off, on a slider, dolly, etc for nice smooth controlled shots with an artistic look.

Definitely recommend.

[T22] First off. These have to be one of the best budget anamorphics you can get your hands on as of early 2024.

My only small grip is the inconsistent squeeze factor on the 50mm. If you know that it's easy to compensate in post but I would feel a little weary handing off footage from the 50mm lens.

As for the 35mm, I really love how large the FOV is. On the flip side you have to get a subject very close to really feel the anamorphic stuff but outside of that is a very useful focal length

As an owner op these are WELL worth your money
