Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can this be connected directly into my Sony 7RII?

A: This battery-operated shotgun mic can connect directly to the Sony a7RII camera's 3.5mm mic input jack, with the included LMT-100 adapter cable.

Q: 2. Anyone used it at a podium in a live environment?

A: I have used this as a primary mic mounted on a stand in front of talent and it works very well. Just add phantom power or a AA battery and set your gain the same way you would on any mic.

Q: 3. Will this work with an IPhone 12? If so, will I need accessories: which one(s)?

A: Yes. Provided that a battery is installed in the Senal AND you have the appropriate cable, such as B&H # SALCXLR (XLR to Lightning) to connect to the iPhone 12.

Q: 4. What is an affordable Pre-amp to use with this mic for a Nikon D750?

A: I bought the Tascam DR060D MarkII and have been happy with it. I've never used a pre-amp or recorder so it was a bit of an uphill climb to learn a bit about audio production. Now that I've experimented with it for some time I'm quite comfortable with it. It eats up batteries so you definitely want to use rechargeable batteries. I bought a LifeCharge external 16,800 mAh external battery. There's also a power option that works off of house current.Curtis Judd is knowledgeable about audio and he reviews the 60D MkII. You can search for his channel on YouTube. He also has a video wherein he reviews several recorders options. Sorry B&H doesn't want links in my answer.Good luck.

Q: 5. Does the included shockmount work with traditional threaded pole conectivity? or is it only made for camera mounting?

A: According to the info listed there is a 3/8 -16 thread connection at the base.

Q: 6. Is the xlr to mini cord compatible with a 3.5mm jack? Like, could I just just use that cord and connect it straight to my camera through the microphone jack?

A: Yes that's what that cable is for. Mini is just another name for 3.5mm.

Q: 7. How long does a single AA battery last in the mic?

A: While there isn't a published run time for AA, as they vary too much and also depend on the chemistry of the battery, on average you can expect around 50 hours (+/-)

Q: 8. Does the Rode NTG2 have an on/off switch?

A: The Rode NTG-2 features no on/off switch. It is recommended that you remove the batteryfrom the unit when the microphone is not in use as it is always drawing current.

Q: 9. How long is the mic?

A: The mic is 11 inches

Q: 10. Where is the XLR cable?

A: XLR cables are a required but not included accessory for this microphone. We list several cabling options under the ACCESSORIES tab for this microphone.

[Gold] I've been using the Enova NXT True Mold XLR Mic Cable with my f6 for the past few weeks. I've used it on 4 different shoots in multiple environments ranging from indoor conference rooms to outdoor 90+ temps.

It's made of quality materials and feels more durable than most of my other XLR cables in my bag. It should hold up to some abuse and varying weather conditions.

I got everything into post and there are no issues with any of the audio so mission accomplished. This has become my go-to XLR cable.

[Copper] The Enova NXT True Mold XLR Microphone Cable is a well-made mic cable that is built to last. I'm comparing build quality so some of my other XLR cables and this cable stands apart. It should hold up to some abuse in a variety of conditions. It has all the things you'd want in an XLR cable in terms of materials it's made out of. It instantly goes to the top of my XLR cable box.

[2] We had a old mic that was dropped and needed to be replaced at our church and this worked well for that. It's better than the old Radio Shack mic it replaced.

[Black] I love this XLR cable. Works perfectly, I've had zero issues with it. Which is the most important part and exactly what I want in any cable. But what's great about this XLR cable is the build quality. It seems very well-made. It's hard to explain, but the cable itself has a soft, pliable feeling to the touch. This makes it nice to work with, wraps easily and seems very flexible. It also appears very strong and durable. This cable should last a long, long time. In my experience, hard, inflexible cables are annoying to work with and generally do not last, so I like having this cable. The connectors also appear very well-made and strong with gold plated contacts. This should help with any corrosion and ensure good connections, which in turn provides good, clean audio. The locking mechanism of the connector also feels well-made and secure. It attaches strong and firm. Another thing that is well constructed in this cable is the joint that attaches the connector to the cable itself. This is usually the weak point of any cable. This Enova XLR cable has molded joints which are strong and well made. Again, meaning this cable should really last a long time and work flawlessly. Working with audio can be very frustrating when there is a problem/crackle. I hate having to trouble shoot things, especially in front of clients. So, having a cable that you know will work and also last is priceless. I want my cables to work and last, period. And this XLR should do both things for me. I am very impressed by this Enova XLR cable and happy with it's functionality and build quality. [I have received this product in exchange for my honest review]

[24 AWG] Besides these cables feeling extremely durable, the feature that stands out the most is the weather and moisture resistants. As someone who travels often and shoots short forms doc interviews having these types of cables is a must and having this extra layer of protection adds piece of mind in humid environments.

I have the 6.6 foot cables as this size is best for traveling with a K-tek Avalon KE-899cc boom pool which has the XLR internal coiled cable.
