Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can the motor + remote work as a follow focus for Rokinon Cine lenses?

A: No, the included motor is only for the VND in the matte box. You would need to add a Tilta Nucleus Nano motor or a similar motorized follow focus system.

Q: 2. Can the DJI focus pro motor replace the motor to at comes with the Mat box?

A: No, the Tilta Mirage Motorized VND Kit has its own proprietary remote for the variable ND filter's rotation.

Q: 3. Are there side flags for the Milta Mirage?

A: No, it is not possible to attach side flags to the Tilta Mirage Matte Box.

Q: 4. Does this "new design" prevent ghosting/ reflections? (is the filter closer to the lens than the previous design)?

A: No mention from Tilta on this yet.

Q: 5. Does the VND filter have IR cut built in?

A: No, but the Vaxis IRNDs do. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/products/Neutral-Density/ci/114/N/4026728350?filters=fct_brand_name%3Avaxis

Q: 6. Hi, the mirage is compatible with 4mm thick filters?

A: We find no support that the Tilta Mirage Matte Box can use 4mm thick filters.

Q: 7. With a S35 sensor like the BMPCC 6K Pro and a Tokina BH #TOTC1120EF will get vignette at 11mm?

A: When you are using a lens that wide, you will likely get vingetting with the Tilta Mirage Matte Box. This is consistent with most other matte boxes and wide angles lenses. Tilta recommends staying at 18mm and above while using this matte box on a Super35 sensor.

Q: 8. Will this work with sigma 14-24mm f2.8 dg dn?

A: The Tilta Mirage Matte Box, as is, will not work with the Sigma 14-24mm f/2.8 DG DN Art Lens as the lens does not have front filter threads. You could get the Tilta 15mm LWS Support for Mirage Matte Box, which would allow the Tilta Mirage Matte Box to mount to 15mm rods and be slid back as close as possible to the lens, but due to the Sigma 14-24mm f/2.8 DG DN Art Lens' design, there would still be gaps that would cause issues. Some lenses are not going to be compatible with front filters, the Sigma 14-24mm f/2.8 DG DN Art Lens is one such lens.

Q: 9. Does a 95mm Cine lens fit?

A: Yes, the Tilta Mirage Matte Box fits lenses with a 95mm front diameter.

Q: 10. the support screw hole at the bottom is it 1/4 20" using a alternat support and need to know. Thanks in advance.

A: The Tilta Mirage VND Kit (B&H# TIMBT16A) has a female 1/4"-20 thread in the bottom along with two locator holes on either side of it. As such, if you intend to mount it on 15mm rods then the most secure means to do so would be to use the Tilta 15mm LWS Support for Mirage Matte Box (B&H# TIMBT16LS): https://bhpho.to/3NfLdRh

[67 mm] I own the original Wolverine and what I can say this are the best filter system

[Aluminum] These filters are high quality and the ease of use being magnetic is just second to none. Extremely impressed!

[Glass] Most of my lenses are 67mm so it is essential to have an adapter on each of the lenses so I can switch lenses and not have to unscrew the magnetic adapter and put it onto a new lens but can just pop on one of the magnetic filters. I also got the lens caps for each of the lenses. Kase's magnetic properties on these accessories is pretty darn strong. I don't have to hear about having the filter fall off because the magnets not hard enough.

[Aluminum] This is a great idea of having these attached together! be warned it'll take some practice to effectively use the polarizer.

[67 mm] The Case Wolverine Revolution system is simply the best out there right now that I've tried. The ingenious two-piece magnetic system makes changing filters (literally) a snap. The adapter ring sits very unobtrusively on your lens, and the filter(s) are almost impossibly thin as a result.

As for this particular ND filter? We took it to Albuquerque to photograph the annular eclipse in October 2023, and it was excellent. I'm not the most-experienced solar photographer, but the 16.5-stop measurement seemed to be about perfect for the job. I look forward to getting other filters in this size to use for different applications.

[Glass] I now have a set for 112mm, 77mm and 82mm. True I could have used step rings but you buy these for ease of use and lens shades don't always fit with step rings and you buy these for ease of use. Filter quality is excellent, no observable color casts, nicely machined. Only complaint is this set needs an extra sleeve in the case as you have to fit 2 filters in one slot. They probably think you have the UV on the camera all the time and don't need a 6th slot in the case, but a 6th slot would have made this perfect.

[67 mm] Great product and system for the cost. Now the only system I will use going forward.

[67 mm] Yeah not sure what that other guy is on about. This isn’t a perfect CPL but it’s not supposed to be. It just allows you to adjust the natural polarizing effect of a VND, not fully remove reflections. Anyways, it’s well built, a breeze to use, has minimal tint/color-shift and very little artifacting. My favorite VND I’ve ever used

[67 mm] I purchased this filter so that I could practice shooting the sun before the eclipse. The magnetic design is very innovative.
