Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. To make sure this Canon Wi-FI Adapter can work on all 5DS, this meaning 5D Mark I, 5D Mark II & 5D Mark III?

A: The 5D mark I and 5D mark II do not even have SD card slots. The 5D mark III does but, as of August 2016, Canon has not included it in the list of supported cameras. The 5DS and 5DSR are separate cameras.

Q: 2. Hi, would this adapter be compatible with the 5D Mark III?

A: reading the description from canon, no. At this time, only the 7D mkII, 5DS and 5DSR are listed to be supported.

Q: 3. Is support planned for the new Canon 5D Mark IV (or does it not need it)?

A: Canon 5D Mark IV has already built-in Wifi and NFX support. You don't need it.

Q: 4. Can the wifi adapter connect directly to a kindle tablet or is a router needed. I shoot with a 7d mk2. I use a CF card for RAW and a SD card for JPEG (same time). Looking to leave my laptop home and just carry my tablet. At end of days shooting I would like to replace the SD card with this adapter and then transfer the picture from the CF card to my tablet for viewing. Can I do that with this adapter? Is a wifi router needed as go between my tablet and camera?

A: You can connect directly to the W-E1 card directly as it creates its own hotspot. There is an option to use a local network but have not found this to be an advantage. I also shoot with a 7d mk2. I use a CF card which stores both RAW and JPEG. The W-E1 card remains installed in the SD slot.Using the Canon app on my iPad I can connect directly to the 7d and transfer the JPEG images images wirelessly. This is quite convenient to get a first look at the photos that I took, do basic corrections either with the Photos app or via the Lightroom app on the iPad, and then share. I do not believe there is an option to transfer raw to the iPad.Using the Canon EOS Utility on either my iMac or MacBook I can transfer the raw images wirelessly. These are then brought into Lightroom for processing.I do not believe that there is an app for the Kindle tablet but have not done a serious investigation as I do not have this device.Hope this helps.

Q: 5. Cf to sad adapter

A: I am not sure what you are asking. Please email your question with a better explanation to askbh@bhphoto.com for assistance.

Q: 6. Can this be used to save images directly to a wireless external drive similarly t WFT-E4 II could write directly to a USB drvice

A: Canon W-E1 Wi-Fi Adapter will work with the Canon Connect Station CS100 1TB Storage Device, or a computer running the EOS Utility Software or a mobile device running Canon Connect Mobile App. Unfortunately it is not compatible with third party wireless external drives.

Q: 7. Does Canon make a CF wi-fi adapter?

A: Not that I know of.

Q: 8. Is there any update on when this product will be in stock?

A: Unfortunately, at the time of this response, we do not yet have an update on the availability of the Canon W-E1 Wi-Fi Adapter. However, as soon as we receive more information, we will update the information listed on our website.

Q: 9. Will this W-E1 Wifi card work by itself to transfer the images to my phone or laptop?? Or is a CF card in conjunction with this wifi card mandatory for anything to work?? I know this wifi card has no SD storage, but if I put it in the camera with no other cards, will it still let me send the pics to my phone/laptop? Is a CF card mandatory also for it to work wirelessly or is a CF card just optional if I also want to save it to a physical memory card??

A: CF card is a must , and this is only compatible with Canon 5DS/ 5DSR and Canon 7D II

Q: 10. Will this work on a 7D?

A: No, but it will work on the 7D II. You need 2 memory card slots, and the 7D only has one.

[1800 W] Excellent item that's easy to activate with Kasa app and is reasonably priced. Individually programmable, dual outlets. Set schedules or simply control remotely with on/off function.

[2x 3-Prong] Same plug was $7-$10 more elsewhere. Works great.

[0.69 lb] Ever the skeptic, I was hesitant when a specialist in the B&H surveillance Dept recommended this product line to me. Amazingly affordable considering build quality at this price-point, this is a tool that is built to last.

[2x 3-Prong] My Merros smart plugs started to drop out now and then so I thought I'd try something different. These have been solid for a couple months now.

[15 A] I bought this to automate the start/stop of a couple water pumps in an outdoor water feature to save electricity by reducing runtime. It was easy to set up the device on the Kasa app and on Apple's Home app. I like the fact that each outlet is individually programmable. The electricity it saved in one month more than paid for the device. The only drawback is that the cord is, in my view, too short, making my particular installation a bit challenging.

[15 A] I have dozens of TP-Link products on my Kasa platform for inside my home. Mostly plugs and light switches. This plug will be great add-on for my Christmas lights outdoors. I bought the single plug and dual plugs. The dual plugs can be programmed and used separately. I also used one for my pergola lights.

[1800 W] This bulb was very easy to set up with the Tapo app. A nice feature is that once the bulb is set up to the color and brightness of your liking, you can manually turn the light off with the switch and it retains the setting when turned back on.

[2x 3-Prong] I had another brand that all of a sudden I could not set up. So I tried this one...as TP-Link is more of a know brand. So far it works pretty well. App is ok..You can set up a schedule for on and off, and also it functions as a dimmer, which is what i wanted for deck lights.

The ONLY negative so far..well..my deck plug has a plastic cover that goes down over the plugs...this plug does not have a right angle plug, so the cover will not close. The other TP Link models that have a right angle plug are not dimmers.

My solution. I just bought a small right angle adapter to use. An extra $10 or so.

[Power] Replaced two similar plugs from Wyze that were unstable. They work perfectly with my home routines using Google Assistant.
