Q: 10. Will this work in the US to charge an appliance bought in the UK that has a continental european plug?

A: As long as the device you are plugging in will work with lower voltage in North America, you will be fine. The problem is actually going the other way - US to Euro plug voltages. I had three of these get destroyed by the higher 220 volts. I assume the surge protection must only be applicable to North America's lower 110 voltage. You should have no problems.

[Blue] My audio gear: two Devialet Phantoms, Bluesound Node (3rd Gen. ), tested with Tidal. A/B comparison plugging/unplugging the iFI iPurifier: clearer, more "airy" sound, better dynamics, more controlled bass, larger soundstage. I still am surprised it works as promised, I returned other, more expensive/bulkier AC purifiers because they killed the dynamics, producing a flat, uninterested sound. Great addition!

[Version: 2.1] WOW! I have the Furman Signature 91 pound balanced power unit in my home theatre yet putting this with the Analogue section of my powered speakers right with the Center and two front speakers and one on the same plug of my pre processor takes away so much grunge that it is hard to fathom. I also have a computer desktop audio system with Furman PFI 15 and putting it in back with my 2 powered Kef LS50W and also one with my IFI Galvanizer and USB3.0 and Computer connection did the same thing in that system by taking out a load of grudge on imaginable. Clearly the biggest effect is on anything that produces an analogue signal Processor and Amplifier or Powered speakers. Digital does also have an effect and improvement but to a lesser extent. So far I have 10 of this babies. Once you realize how much crisper things could sound you tend to want to take all the grunge out. I found that to get the best effect as they suggest connect to where the actual device is connected to. I found that if they are connected to a conditioner and you connect the AC Purifier at the wall as opposed to the back of the conditioner in the same set of plugs you will not get a great result. Hence follow their instructions I found it worked exactly as they suggested.

[Version: 2.1] This device is well worth the cost!
I noticed immediately, a lower noise floor, better separation of instruments, deeper, wider soundstage. Highs are clean, without glare. Mids are clean and rich. Lows have more grip and well defined.
Well done iFi!

[Blue] Works as advertised. To verify your hum will be eliminated, use a three prong to two prong adapter (cheater plug) to TEMPORARILY remove the ground connection. If multiple devices are involved each one may need a cheater plug to eliminate the hum. If the hum is gone, replace each cheater plug with a IFi Audio GND Defender and enjoy.

[Blue] I bought this with the expectation that it likely would not do anything, and I'd return it. When I inserted it between my Sonos Port and a Denefrips Ares 2 DAC, however, I noticed an stark increase in dynamic range, to the extent that I had to turn my headphone amp down a bit. Through speakers, I noticed better imaging and placement, as well as better base.

I checked in with the DAC manufacturer to see if this could just be the result of the iFi potentially feeding a hotter signal than the Port. They said that was unlikely, and reducing jitter would indeed be helpful to improve the DAC's sound. Of course, Denefrips solution for that costs many times the iFi.

I'm keeping it, which surprised me. I expected only marginal improvements. The Sonos Connect was known to produce a lot of jitter. I had assumed the Port would improve on that, but perhaps not if I'm hearing such a jump from the iPurifier 2.

I'm sure this is all system dependent, but my experience is that it is worth trying, if you buy from a vendor with good return policies.

[Version: 2.1] I needed to add a separate streaming Roon end point for headphone use via a DAC. I looked at what was available to stream with a noise free and good time output to a DAC. iFi ticked all the boxes at a very low price point when compared to other options.
The Zen has SPDIF and USB for the digital DAC outputs. I used the USB. Both Outputs have tech to insure that noise/timing issues has been limited to a minimum which is very important ( Rubbish in means rubbish out). Ethernet used since this ensures no dropouts or throughput issues.
You will have to set the system mode selector (Roon for me) so again one should know what you are using or plan to.
It was straight forward to set up by going to ifi websight (internet search if in doubt). Performance wise this sends a very good digital stream to my DAC. No issues with timing or noise. The imaging and musical enjoyment match my Roon driven /SSD NAS / Meridian MS600 endpoint. So full thumbs up for very little money.
