A: It depends what size you are scanning at and set to 600dpi on the Plustek ePhoto Photo and Document Scanner. In most cases you will get a good 8x10.

A: Sorry for the confusion. That is an error. There is no maximum daily duty cycle specification for our ePhoto scanner. We will have B&H update their specifications page.

Q: 7. Some of our old photos have "melded" with the plastic album overlays. If I cut the photos out of the album with a layer of plastic, can I calibrate the scanner for a thicker size?(thicker than a photo)

A: It is both - you can choose either. The 300 dpi is faster than the 600 dpi.

Q: 10. Does it come with a TWAIN driver?

A: No. This Fujitsu ScanSnap iX1600 Document Scanner (White), would not have TWAIN driver support on both PC and Mac.

[TWAIN, WIA] I bought the Ricoh fi-8170 to replace an 18 year old Fujitsu fi-5750C. The fi-7700 was $6700, this is a definite alternative if a flatbed isn't needed. Scans really fast, the only downside is you need to constantly pull the sheets off as they've been scanned or they start bunching up and scatter. 5

[14.87 lb] Received my order a couple of weeks ago and been putting it through the paces. It works beautifully. I love that it duplexes automatically with one pass. I'm doing batches of files at a time and was particularly impressed when I passed a stack of fuel receipts for the year that were irregular in size and shape it processed them without a single hiccup. 5

[10,000 Scans] The rollers on my old fi-3160 finally after 15 years became gummy bears. Figured it was time to get a new scanner. The 8170 looked very similar to the old 3160 but boasted a lightning fast PPM rate. Set up was pretty straight forward once I figured out that for some reason I could not make Scandall Pro work with the 8170, although it worked well with the old scanner. For lack of any other option, I tried out PaperStream Click Scan that came with the new scanner. Turns out it is much easier to get the options you want than Scandall and a much easier interface by a wide margin. Great piece of office equipment and software. 5
