Protect your Sony camcorder underwater at depths of up to 32.8' or when snorkeling or shooting in sandy, dusty, humid, or foul weather conditions with Ewa-Marine VMW2 Underwater Housing for Sony CamcordersEwa-Marine VMW2 Underwater Housing for Sony Camcordersfor the Sony PMW-200 or PMW-150 XDCAM. Made of clear, double-laminated PVC, the VMW2 supports manual control of the camcorder's menu functions via a few PVC finger pockets built into the housing's flexible skin, which allow easy access to camera functions such as power, iris, white balance and lens.

A 3.7" (95mm) integrated, optically-neutral flat glass lens port at the side of the housing attaches to the camcorder lens using Ewa-Marine's CA-adapter ring system and the supplied 77mm threaded aluminum filter ring. This ring fits camera lenses with 77mm filter thread diameters. Mount the adapter onto your front lens element and attach it to the interior of the port to hold the lens securely in place and prevent reflections or other optical disturbances between the two glass surfaces. The camera's viewfinder and monitor are both accessible at the rear of the housing.

A pair of corrosion-resistant clamping rails secures the housing to form a waterproof seal at the top via knurled thumb screws, while the camera is cushioned inside by an included foam pad, which also serves as an air reservoir. The unit can be carried by nylon webbing handles. Additional straps can be tightened around the camera to remove excess air when working near or above the water's surface. They also allow for the attachment of weights at the bottom of the housing to adjust buoyancy underwater. Since the volume of air in the housing decreases and the water-pressure increases as you descend underwater, more air is required inside the housing to balance the outside water pressure the deeper you dive.

This item also includes a carrying case with a waterproof interior and zippered side-pocket, an initial supply of CD5 drying agent to absorb moisture/condensation, and foam padding to fill empty space when shooting above water.

              Q: 1. Will a Nikon d7100, 18-140mm lens with a SB-700 flash fit?

A: this outfit will fit in the UBXP however if you have lenses with an 82 mm filter thread then you will require the U-BXP 100.

Q: 2. enough room to fit a pocket wizard on the hot shoe?

A: Hi Steve,i havent tested the pocket wizard but i have seen other remotes on a hot shoe fit without issue. Eric

Q: 3. Will this work with a Nikon D800 and what is the widest lens you can use? Will a 15mm work?

A: for the D800 i would use the U-BXP100. any lens that has a maximum 82mm filter thread will work. you always want to use the widest lens possible as there will in any underwater photography some vignetting.

Q: 4. Can you zoom in and out?

A: You have the ability by pressing the tubus to manually zoom in and out.

Q: 5. PS I would be interested to see a photo of a camera inside?

A: Unfortunately we do not have a photo of the Ewa-Marine U-AXP100 Underwater Housing with a camera in it.

              Q: 6. Can I use this housing with a canon 5d mkii and a 24-70 lens?

A: The Ewa-Marine U-AZ housing is fine for the Canon 5D mark II but not the Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM lens. This housing bag is designed for lenses that are 9 long and have a 62mm filter thread or smaller. The Ewa-Marine U-B 100 is a better choice. This bag housing is compatible with lenses that are 3.94 to 7.87 long and have a filter thread of 82mm or smaller. For the Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM lens you will need the Ewa-Marine C-A82 82mm Adapter Ring Set. Q: 7. would a canon t3i rebel fit?

A: The Canon T3i will fit in the Ewa-Marine U-AX Housing. You do have to make sure the lens on the camera has a maximum filter thread of 72mm. The camera body and lens together cannot be longer than 6.7 (170mm). Only internal focus lenses could be used in Ewa-Marine housings.

Q: 8. does this housing supposed to come with some padding?

A: This underwater housing bag does not come with padding.

Q: 9. I'm looking for underwater housing that would accommodate my Canon 5D III, battery grip, 600EX flash and a 77mm lens (ideally up to 82mm). What reliable options would you recommend for this setup, without breaking the bank?

A: Ewa-Marine bag housings are a reliable option at a reasonable price when working in 20' of water or less. The housing is rated to 150' but water pressure will make it difficult to access the camera controls through the bag. The Ewa-Marine U-BXP100 is their largest housing. This bag is designed to hold an on-camera speedlight and could accommodate internal focus lenses with a maximum 82mm lens filter size. The housing includes the threaded 77mm lens-to-port adapter ring. Other optional port adapter rings including the 82mm adapter is available (#CA82). Wide-angle lenses can be used with this housing. The housing is designed for large DSLR cameras only. Use of a battery grip cannot be guaranteed. Q: 10. Can the U-A accommodate a lens that is not threaded (wide angle fish eye) or are the threads required for proper attachment?

A: It can accommodate a non threaded lens. Be sure your camera is warm and dry before it goes in the housing to reduce the chance of fogging.

[3.15 lb] Light weight and easy to use. I started using it with my Canon EOS10D and am still using it with the EOS 50D. With all other housings I would have had to buy a new one each time I changed the camera...

[3.15 lb] I went diving for the first time and bought this housing to take my Canon T3i underwater with me. I only dove 7 meters/21 feet, but it worked perfectly fine for me. No leaks or moisture inside at all and it fit my Canon 10-22mm EF-S lens perfectly. There was plenty of room for the flash too. I couldn't really change settings underwater while diving, although I could in the housing above water. I was hoping to switch to movie mode at some point, but wasn't able to. In reality, I don't think I would have been able to hold it straight in front of me steady enough while diving in order to do video anyway. That's probably just because I have no diving experience though. I set it to A+ (scene intelligent auto) mode for the underwater shots so I wouldn't have to change any manual settings. I had to let almost all of the air out in order to get it below the surface of the water, even with the lead weight in the case. Since it wasn't a deep dive, I didn't have any problems with the housing shrinking around the camera at all.I was able to take some photos that I'm really happy with underwater and even above water. The glass doesn't seem to blur the image at all EXCEPT for when you're above water and have water drops on the glass. I also used this case while kayaking in the rain and those shots are blurry.

[None] Here is the most important thing you will need to know... IT WORKS! Putting your 5D Mark III into a body of water with a $2500 dollar lens and a flash does not feel natural in any way the first time you ease it into the water. But life is life and if it was going to leak I was going to find out the hard way, It did not leak. Humidity packets that came with it got rid of fog. The only tricky thing is that you really need to dial in your settings before getting in there, or use it on full auto. I shoot in Pools in Manual and it worked fine with a bit of going back and adjusting settings again. Direct flash looks terrible underwater as it does above water, so I am still not sure I will use flash again for my underwater needs. Great thing is I can turn flash on and off through the housing anyways so, not a big deal to have there just in case. The plastic does warp your lcd image and makes it look cloudy, the first time I thought everything looked terrible until I took it out of the thick plastic housing. Bottom line, this works, and the company that makes it guarantees your gear in case of manufacturing failure. KEEP YOUR RECEIPT!
