Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How would this work on a 35mm sensor, like the Fs5?

A: It will not work with a 35mm. 35mm lenses can be used on APS-C bodies, but not the other way around.

Q: 2. Does the 20mm seal come with a lens hood

A: No, I just received the lens cap only. Maybe the hood was a special offer at some point. I purchased mine last October(2016).

Q: 3. Will this lens work for the a7s?

A: Yes but it will be cropped to aps-c instead of full frame

Q: 4. how is the focus position vary along with wavelength?

A: We would love to assist you with this question, however we do need a bit more information. If you could email this question to provideo@bhphoto.com with some additional information like what camera you'll be using and the application it is for we'll do our best to assist you.

Q: 5. Does this lens have a metal lens mount?

A: The Sony E 20mm f/2.8 Lens has a metal lens mount.

Q: 6. Will this work well with smartphone that has an ultra wide lens like the newest iPhone? It looks like the motor will not be frame because it’s to the side but I wanted to confirm this.

A: While you will be able to mount a Smartphone to this gimbal and balance it, the new ultra wide lenses on some smart phones are so wide that they show the gimbal in the shot.

Q: 7. Is this lens exactly the same as using 20mm on the 16-50mm f3.5-5.6 kit lens on an a6100?

A: Yes, 20mm is 20mm, the same angle of view and magnification, except the 20mm prime lens will be better in low light as well as having better optical quality.

Q: 8. Does this lens have weather sealing?

A: The Sony E 20mm f/2.8 Lens is not weather sealed.

Q: 9. Will this be an actual 20mm on a Sony A7R?

A: No it will not. This lens is formatted for APS-C sensors, and if used on the A7r will cause the camera to crop its sensor, and will have an equivalent focal length of 30mm.

Q: 10. Are you able to choose rotation angle? i.e. press button to turn 10 degrees?

A: Not that we are aware of. This product offers the ability to change the rotation speed, but we are not aware of it allowing you to precisely dial in an angle to go to. You would have to do that manually.

[7.3 to 7.3mm] Greta price. Well built. Super easy to use. Must have Matterport app and service.

[Yes] Been using this one since the beta, on it's own its a great slider with a really fast setup time. The preset's are the key for me as i'm able to get a shot going within minute's when a sunset is going off and i'm busy with production. The pan/tilt is a bit heavy but get's the job done with a touch of wobble in really windy scene's (warp does a nice job of stabilizing it). Overall it's a great piece to have in the bag that mounts really nicely to a single tripod.

[7.3 to 7.3mm] Purchased 5/2018 - only a few days in hand as I learn the use. One problem surfaced and I contacted the Cinetics company..reply Immediate! Service question answered and problem solved! And this on a Saturday! That is a major plus in anyone's life...If looking for a slider, this seems to work really smooth from my first experience, more testing and use to come. The price seems about right for what you get as well. The help/discussion forum on the company website is useful and they are still researching updates to current product, so definitely a good way to go here. I would recommend purchase for those reasons.

[7.3 to 7.3mm] I've been using the Lynx for a few months now, and must say it's been really helpful. I'm not the most technical guy, but I'm an entrepreneur and I create content regularly for my companies and personal brand so the Lynx has really helped up my production value on different videos we create. Great tool to have.

[P-Iris] The Lynx has been a great tool and has added value to our film productions. We've used it in interviews, timelapse and for cinematic transitions. It really comes in handy when you need to support narration with visuals or if you need a little bit of filler to round out your spot.

The rig is lightweight, versatile and easy to set up which compliments those stressful moments when your trying to capture the rising or setting sun. Looking forward to seeing what they come out with next!

[2.8 to 8.5mm] I have been shooting timelapse photography for nearly 8 years now. I had always wanted a 3 axis motion system, but always found the price and weight prohibitive.

Well, I came to a point where it was the last piece missing from my kit and I began to do a lot of research. Kessler, Emotimo, and then I came across the Cinetics system from a fellow timelapser online.

The price was reasonable compared to other brands, and the weight and setup both looked to be significantly better.

I ordered the system, and was very impressed with the quality of the materials (carbon fiber!!!). I set it up and found that the control unit did not fire my camera. I was a disappointed, but had heard that the team at Cinetics provided great customer service. This was an UNDERSTATEMENT.

I emailed Justin at Cinetics, and within hours was in the process of resolving my issue. they sent me a new control unit within days, and I was good to go.

The system performs for both Timelapse and video flawlessly. The timelapse sequences I captured on a recent trip with the Lynxhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=grNtKysPQcQ are some of the best I have been able to get in years!

If you are looking for a 3 axis slider system, and don't want to break the bank, this is definitely the way to go!

[2.8 to 8.5mm] This is by far the most versatile slider on the market today! You have so many options when setting it up, that it's like having a "big boy's" Tinker Toys.

I am using my in a different fashion and needed some advice to make it run smoothly, and the tech support was second to none. They helped me every step of the way and even do follow-ups to make sure that everything is working.

More companies and products should be run and built this way. I'm looking at getting a second one in the near future.

Thank you Cinetics for having a solution for my problems! Keep up the great work!

[f/1.2] Previously, attempting to capture a good Matterport would mean hiding a broomstick, or a very steady hand.

Results were very varied, and stitching in multiple spots in the capture. The other alternative would be a $3000 dedicated camera.

This is a brilliant product. We can now use the iPhone in our pockets (models with a LIDAR scanner) and capture great Matterports! The process is seamless and the quality I would say is 90%-95%. Some stitching may still occur if your placements are too near a wall.

The app works well with the Axis and the Axis will work with any tripod stand. I only wish that the Axis would swivel vertically as well, to capture the ceilings automatically, but I guess that would make the product more expensive.

For its cost, its a no-brainer. This makes Matterports a possibility for the rest of us, without a prohibitive cost.

[2.8 to 8.5mm] This system is very compact. I can attach it to my backpack with a tripod for easy deployment. You can't beat the quality and functionality for the price. Most system that do this much will cost sub 3K. The logic in the controller and the app is also very intuitive didn't take me long it grasp. I would recommend this product.
