Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will a Peak Design standard plate fit the Vanguard Alta BH-250 ball head?

A: The arca compatible Peak Design Standard plate should fit the arca compatible ballhead.

Q: 2. What is the diameter of the base of the head?

A: The diameter should be around 61mm.

Q: 3. How do I replace the rubber feet on my VEO 3T+234CB to spike feet?

A: They should pull off and or twist off. We do not have this on display to check.

Q: 4. Will this ball head fit on REDGED RTA 424 tripod legs?

A: Yes this head can fit a REDGED RTA 424 Tripod.

Q: 5. Would you recommend this tripod for long-exposure photography using a Nikon D500 with either a 70-200mm Nikkor or a 150-600mm Tamron?

A: Yes the Veo 2 235CB would be great for long exposure with a Nikon D500 with a Nikon 70-200mm or Tamron 150-600mm attached to it.

Q: 6. Does this come with a carry bag of some kind?

A: Yes. This comes with a Padded Tripod bag with Shoulder Strap.

Q: 7. Is the ball head removable

A: According to Vanguard, yes, the ball head on the Vanguard VEO 2 235CB Carbon Fiber Tripod is removable. You would simply loosen the two (2) hex set screws under the head, lock down the head's adjustment dials so it does not move, and pop the head counterclockwise. The thread size on the male screw on the top of the center column is the standard ¼”-20 thread size. If you are using a tripod head that has the larger 3/8"-16 tripod thread size, you will need a reducer bushing to connect the tripod head to your tripod, such as the Oben 3/8"-16 to 1/4"-20 Reducer Bushing, B&H # OB1039.

Q: 8. Aside from the increased load capacity, how is this different from the BH-100?

A: The Vanguard Alta BH-300 is stronger, slightly larger in size/base diameter, as well as heavier than the Vanguard BH-100.

Q: 9. Is this tripod compatible with the peak design capture camera clip?

A: Yes. It is compatible with the peak design plate. That’s what I use. Anything tripod/head that says Arca Swiss will work.

Q: 10. weight of the head?

A: The following unit weights 0.95 lbs.

[4] I am new to photography, and my last Walmart tripod broke. I bought this and it has a learning curve for me as it is a ball instead of the pan style head. I like the ball better I think as it keeps your hands closer and there is less movement than I had with my cheap pan style one. But this is 10000% better overall. Great height and movement. Have already used it to take some good Spider-Web, Moon, and Stars pictures. Would defiantly recommend to someone. If you want to go hiking with it I suggest the Carbon Fiber one as I feel the weight when charring it around even though it is not heavy.

[Yes] I am very impressed with the quality of the tripod, sturdy and nicely finished. I got it because my specific use in macro photography. It allows me to move the central column closer to objects. It is a bit heavy and comes with a nice bag. It is can be extended very high which was another reason for choosing this model but if you need a travel tripod it might not be the best option.

[1x 1/4"-20 Male] So much versatility. It's robust and easy to use for the most part. It's not as portable as some other tripods but that's not a big deal for me

[24.7 x 5 x 5"] It's very light weight and surprisingly sturdy. One of my current goals is to downsize all my photo gear to be light and agile. Whether it's hiking or street shooting, this tripod helps me go a long way to that end.

[3 Positions] My need was for a small, light-weight tripod for travel and general photography. Many of the carbon fiber tripods were very expensive, but this one answered all my requirements at a great price. After several shoots I have been very pleased. I use both crop and full sensor cameras with lenses up to 400mm with no problem. All my longer lenses have tripod rings and I usually use mirror lockup. I was surprised how well the 150 Ball head kept things steady in spite of its smaller size. The limitations of the tripod are its total height and the time it takes to set up, but that has not been a problem for me. If you need to change plates often I would recommend the Vanguard plates as they have a comfortable sized "D" ring and do not require an Allen wrench.

[Yes] Just used this for 7-days straight. Water, sand, dirt, handles it with no problem. Solid as a rock. Ball head is excellent.

[Yes] I have about 7 tripods but this is my first carbon fiber one, I also have the 235AB, which is the aluminum version of this travel tripod. The carbon fiber version is an inch longer folded but at 2.63 pounds, is 0.67 pounds lighter than the aluminum one. Both can Carry a 13.2 pound load, easily accommodating my 6DM2 and 24-105 lens. The controls are a bit more refined than the AB model and I like the addition of a folding twist ring on the arca plate so you don?t need to hunt for a coin. Also, was never a fan of twist locks but these are pretty good and only require a partial turn to lock. Seems pretty stable too, despite the light weight. Well built, quality product and exceptional price.

[4] Have had this for only a short period of time but really like it; feels solid and not flimsy. Holds camera/lens and extender very well, does not slip. Other functions etc work very well.

[35°] I purchased this tripod to support the Star Adventurer 2i tracker with a telephoto lens attached. It's proven quite sturdy and up to the task. Legs don't wobble, weight has been well-supported, and lateral panning locks nicely.

[35°] My most versatile tripod to date. Probably won't go hiking deep into the woods to photograph a waterfall with it, but roadside landscape/waterfall/long exposure or macro shots is what I got it for. I am very please so far! The carrying bag it comes with is expcetional as well!
