Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can it be used with BMPCC 6K & Cooke 18-100mm combo?

A: This adapter will not work with the Pocket 6K.

Q: 2. I am using a Sony A7S with Metabones E-mount to Canon EF adaptor. I want an EF mount TO PL mount so I can use my Fuji Cabrio 19-90 on the A7S. So I'd have TWO separate adapters to get from Sony E-mount to Canon EF to PL-mount. Will this adapter accomplish that? I think I need both adapters attached in order to clear the mirror.

A: This combination is unknown so you would be on your own as far as testing it. I would say from my years of movie camera assisting, I would not feel confident with such a set up if offered. I would be concerned with maintaining the proper depth and not feel confident it would work all day, every day. I would suggest instead that for using the the Fujinon Cabrio, use a proper PL to E-mount adapter. Keep in mind that when using the Fujinon ZK19-90mm T2.9 Cabrio Premier Lens (PL Mount) on your Sony a7S, the camera must be in crop mode since the lens is for Super35 and will not cover the a7S full frame.

Q: 3. How long do they measure physically?

A: The dimensions of the BLAZAR LENS Remus 45/65/100mm kit are the following. The 45mm is 90mm in length, The 65mm is 101mm in length, and the 100mm is 110mm in length.

Q: 4. Will this adaptor work for a Cooke 65mm Prime (miniS4) to a Canon 5DM3?

A: I haven't tried with the S4 mini but the S4 does not work. No prime that I've tried will fit with the adapter.

Q: 5. is this compatible with DZO Vespid primes lenses?

A: The FotodioX Pro Lens Mount Adapter ARRI PL to Canon EF is not compatible with DZO Vespid primes lenses.

Q: 6. Any chance to work with Red Pro Primes?

A: It should work with any PL lens, but I can say from personal experience that it works with my RED 50-150 zoom, RED 300 prime, and Sony PL primes, Zeiss PL zooms, and many others.

Q: 7. Why doesn't the 100mm Remus come with an EF mount option like the other ones?

A: The BLAZAR LENS Remus 100mm T2.8 Full-Frame 1.5x Anamorphic Lens EF mount is offered as a separate option for this lens by Blazar. BLAZAR LENS Remus 1.5x Anamorphic Lens Mount Adapter (Canon EF) BH #BLREEFMT

Q: 8. Does it compatible with Ursa mini pro EF mount camera with canon cn-e 14.5 to 60 mm T/2.6 lens

A: It is not. This adapter is only compatible with select lenses. For the Ursa Mini Pro to use PL mount lenses you will need BH #BLUMPPLM instead. https://bhpho.to/2zY9XK7

Q: 9. Does it work with an arri 10mm ultra prime lens?

A: I had purchased this adapter, not knowing if it would fit the PL Mount lenses that I have. So I can only confirm that it will not fit Red Lenses, Tokina Cinema or GL Optics lenses. You may need to contact the manufacturer directly, if your lens is not listed.

Q: 10. Has any body tested it with Red Komodo?

A: We see no reason why the Vazen Vazen 65mm T2 1.8x Anamorphic RF Mount Lens would not work with the RED Komodo's RF lens mount.

[Yes] Blazar nailed this and no its not a perfect lens... but for under a grand ITS INSANE that a TINY and LIght-weight anamorphic getting you that old panavision c-d series aesthetic but you can actually own these. Are they 2x no obviously not - My Gemini is 30x18mm (rounded) and on 4 perf S35 ie larger S35 chips like my Red Gemini this Lens is a DREAM... Its definitely soft wide open as most vintage anamorphics are and has some CA and flaws but they are very organic... and although the squeeze isnt 2x the Bokeh are CLEARLY oval and the blue streaks (got the blue streak PL ) are great... I always think you need to see how SMALL they are to believe it I dont need a support on My Gemini or when using the FF on my Eos r5. I cant wait for rest have 100 and Hoping the 85 comes soon and then the 33mm FF But this one is a must if you can only buy one.

[1x 1/4"-20] I am not really able to compare it to the others in the set yet… but it’s a safe bet this is the weakest of the 4 or 3if FF only. Partially just from to the focal length not conveying the look as strong as the wider lenses but also it really works best stopped down a tad…as it’s rather soft wide open. However I am def still very impressed by the overall quality and quality of these… they don’t feel cheap just small … shockingly small. The 100mm in PL is smaller than my RF 50mm f1.2! Impressed by this but it comes at the cost of some obvious chromatic aberrations… still for the money this is great and 1.5x may seem to enough squeeze the bokeh and flares look very anamorphic to my eyes shockingly so.
If you order just one maybe the 45mm 65mm or if your on smaller than 17mm high S35 sensors… get the 35mm . This lens great but don’t make it your only option.

[1.5x] I bought a set of Viltrox anamorphic lenses, which are amazing, but I wanted something smaller and lighter for my FX6/Ronin 4D. These Blazar lenses are a lot of fun. I only have the 65 so far, which I find wide enough for most situations without having the issues in the corners that the 45 had. Waiting to try out their new ones, I just need something slightly wider and another slightly tighter. Waiting to hear what they say about the new additions.

[Imperial] When I saw the many video reviews and demos of the Remus Lenses and the price for a set, I knew that they were going to be my first venture into anamorphic lenses.

Although it took almost 3 months to get the set, it was well worth the wait. I recommend this model, for it's budget and it's quality build. It's really amazing.

[77 mm x 0.75] This lens looks great, has interesting flares and has character up the wazoo. I love the distortion of this lens. It may be my PL mount, but the lens is a bit too soft at the moment at distances past 10 meters, and I'll have it checked out soon at a rental house with focus charts. Besides that, so amazing!

[65mm] First off. These have to be one of the best budget anamorphics you can get your hands on as of early 2024.

My only small grip is the inconsistent squeeze factor on the 50mm. If you know that it's easy to compensate in post but I would feel a little weary handing off footage from the 50mm lens.

As for the 35mm, I really love how large the FOV is. On the flip side you have to get a subject very close to really feel the anamorphic stuff but outside of that is a very useful focal length

As an owner op these are WELL worth your money

[1x 1/4"-20] Bought these to use with various cameras to get an anamorphic feel. I really like the look. They aren’t super sharp but fairly well built for the price, have a nice character and actually give a cinematic look. Maybe not 2 x character but for the price I love them.

[T22] I just received this lens set TODAY so please take this all with a grain of salt. This is also being done without shimming so there may be a little bit of blurriness that normally wouldn't be there. I added 2.39 bars to help see what an end image may look like.

I really wanted to see the differences between the Great Joy Set and the Remus. I've uploaded some photos to help people choose.

Overall I think I may go with the Remus as they seem to actually sharpen up closely to the Great Joy's when opened to 2.8T. they also seem to actually have a little more color constancy between each other (However, I did my test on a cloudy day so the sun may have played a factor).

To play to the favor of the Great Joy set they are a little cleaner and I would say might be a better set of lenses for commercial style work where as the Remus set seem to lean into the Narrative a bit more.

Hope this is a little helpful! Both sets of lenses are totally worth the money.
