[6 TB] Using a pair of these 4TB for my rapidly growing data from Sony mirrorless. There was a glitch when formatting with the Mac but a second try and it worked out, data is securely stored plus a safety. Saves space on my 1TB desktop. Chose this model in part because it has it's own power which keeps it running cooler and in theory will hold up well. Have several WD all portable 1T, up to 5-6 years, and none have failed yet.

[0.715 lb] Buy these all the time. Have only ever had 2 crash on me over 12 years. Always back things up of course, but these are great.

[Bus Powered] I own a number of these hard drives now. I work my image storage in pairs, one harddrive is primary, for work and modifications, the second is a back up to the primary. I'm at 10 hard drives now, never an issue.

[6 TB] My iTunes library is huge. I like having it stored on at least two, preferably three hard drives. It took me many hours to rip all my CDs and manually find the cover artwork since iTunes is pretty lousy about doing that part. I definitely don't want to lose all that so I turned to Western Digital. I already had a 4TB WD EHD on an older PC holding my iTunes library and purchased this one to replicate my library and use on a newer PC, so I have two working copies just in case. I now have plenty of room and can rip any new CDs in ALAC (Apple Lossless Audio Codec) to provide the best sound quality possible. Western Digital is my go to brand because of 1. Their reliablity, 2. Their warranty (just in case), and 3. Because their Elements series does NOT encrypt the data on the drive. Highly recommended if you need additional storage.

[Maximum: 5 Gb/s] I've had several WD external drives. All have been portable, and never have they failed although they do get a bit warm. This is the first one with its own power supply which keeps them cool. It's formatted for Mac

[Plastic] When I saw this mega 16TB hard drive listed on sale for $269.99, I had to jump on it. That's $16.87 per TB of storage! And with using B&H's Payboo credit card, I didn't have to pay a 8% state sales tax, which was a big plus and a further discount. This WD Elements drive is just as I expect - a solid performer that doesn't disappoint. On average, data transfer rate is up there at over 150mb/sec. At times it even hit 200mb+/sec. I have yet to find reliability as an issue with WD drives as I have never had a WD drive that failed on me - unlike Seagate, which I have quite a few of them lying around being used as paperweights!

[6 TB] I have three (3) of these WD external backup drives, the oldest dating back nearly 8 years (it's a 6 TB unit). All are still in use, which speaks to the reliability of this brand.
