[Chrome] Latch Lake is simply the best. You should be aware however that if you order this arm to be mounted on a non-Latch Lake stand, you will need to also purchase the "thread extender." It will be useless without it. 5

[Telescoping] I have owned stands from K&M and Triad Orbit. K&M best stand did not last long and while in use wiggled too much. Triad tries to do many things and as a result, is not great at anything and to boot is frustrating to use. Latch Lake is much more stable and easier to use, as it is specifically built as a Microphone stand. It is just a joy to work with and I get more stable and much better recordings with it. 5

[Telescoping] I recently bought an AEA R44 which is a HEAVY mic. Online forums recommended stands by Latch Lake. Well worth the price. i did some tests of the stand prior to use and it's solid as a rock! And the folks at B and H were of course solid professionals as always! 5

[Chrome] We do a lot of interviews for our documentaries and this mic stand is just the ticket. Strong, sturdy and sensibly designed, it gives me a lot of confidence when we set up that at least we don't have to worry about it. Once you handle it and set it up, you'll know why it cost a little more. My son is always telling me to buy nice or buy twice. I'm sure this stand will be around for a few generations. It's well worth the investment. 5

[5/8"-27 Male] I would be very confident in putting virtually any mic on this stand... it may even be able to hold a DSLR-type camera (*note: have not tried, try at your own risk) The latch adjustment system is secure, swift & honestly is. a bit of a game-changer if coming from a conventional stand. If this stand is in the budget, this is great for a large tube mic or a shotgun hanging above an interview set or drum kit. A must-have for any collection; Two thumbs up. 5

[Boom Stand] Obtained this stand to support an entire Decca Tree mic set-up, and it accomplishes this task easily. I've not been worried at all about the whole thing toppling over. Easy to assemble, and clamp-like height adjusters are solidly built. 5

[Clamp Mechanism] This stand is just at a completely different level of polish than any other I've used. The clamping mechanisms are intense and solid - and highly adjustable - and the base ensures that it feels really secure. My only issue so far is getting a feel for how tight to adjust the various clamps, since I don't want to overtighten anything. But having used this stand, I don't know how I would go back to anything else... 5
