When used as part of a complete M32 system, two DL32 Stage Boxes can be cascaded via the built-in AES50 ports, providing connectivity for up to 64 mic/line inputs, 32 balanced outputs and the ULTRANET port allows direct connection to Turbosound iQ Series loudspeakers and the Behringer POWERPLAY P-16 Personal Monitoring System, which can feed up to 48 individual monitor mixers. We also included 2 optical ADAT sockets and AES-3 (AES/EBU) for connecting to outboard devices, a convenient USB port for system updates via your PC, plus MIDI I/O for lighting systems and sound module control.

The DL32 was initially designed with our M32 Digital Mixing Console in mind, but any mixing board with AES50 networking capability can still tap directly into the DL32's powerful feature set. For instance, a DL32 and M32C could be jointly utilized to create a remote controlled digital mixing system in only 4 RU. Another prime application might include the M32C providing independent monitor mix duties, while also relaying and sharing all I/O with the main console—an M32 or any other digital mixer that supports MADI, Dante, ADAT, or AES50 I/O. Reasonably priced option cards to replace the standard 32 x 32 channel USB interface are separately available for that exact purpose. You can even mix the complete show from the onstage M32C via dedicated remote control apps. And since the DL32 and M32C communicate via AES50, they can be separated by Cat 5 cabling, should that be more convenient for the venue.

The world-renowned engineers at Klark Teknik, Midas, Turbosound, and Behringer have all come together to create something truly innovative that will change your live and studio workflow forever—welcome to ULTRANET. This revolutionary technology seamlessly transmits up to 16 independent channels of 24-bit digital audio and control data via a single shielded Cat 5e cable between compatible digital devices, including mixers, I/O stage boxes, powered loudspeakers, and personal monitoring systems. Advantages realized through ULTRANET digital networking, versus traditional analog methods, include: all audio signals are impervious to Radio Frequency Interference (RFI); signal crosstalk is eliminated, and ease of uses translates directly into a significant amount of time saved during show setup or installation. ULTRANET effectuates a powerful digital eco-system that gives you unparalleled ease of deployment, performance, and control for Behringer P16 Personal Monitoring Systems and Turbosound iQ Speaker Series.

Klark Teknik SuperMAC (AES50-Compliant) technology gives the DL32 its high-capacity, ultralow latency digital interconnectivity as well as superbly simple deployment and ease of use. Klark Teknik engineers worked hand-in-hand with Behringer to ensure the DL32 meets, or exceeds, the requirements of live entertainers and their professional audio engineers. Some of the outstanding features are:

  • 48 bidirectional audio channels over Cat 5e cable (48 kHz)
  • Single cable duplex interconnection for audio and sample clocks
  • Ethernet physical layer audio data transmission
  • High channel count and ultralow deterministic latency
  • Accurate phase-aligned clock distribution.
  • Comprehensive error detection and management
  • Provision for redundant networking
  • Minimal configuration—total ease of deployment and use
  • Ethernet TCP/IP protocol-compatible auxiliary data channel
  • Royalty-free implementations available as Xilinx FPGA cores
  • OEM modules available from developer partners

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How does this differ from the Behringer XR-18? And does this use the same software?

A: The Midas MR18 is made from higher grade components, offering the quality sound Midas is known for; though the software, functionally, will be the same. Granted, you would want to get the m-air app instead of the x-air app with the MR18.

Q: 2. Will this work with Windows 10?

A: Not compatible with Windows 10.

Q: 3. power supply for this unit comes with universal power supply cord 100-250v or do i use a regular 110 cord for america?

A: The Soundcraft Si Impact features an auto-sensing global power supply; 88 to 264 VAC. The power cord provided is based on the region the mixer is purchased in. When purchasing at B&H, you'd receive a power cable for use in North America.

Q: 4. Can one use this simply as a stereo mic amplifier with a 9v battery and no USB connection?

A: The ART USB Dual Pre can operate as a standalone mic preamp using 9V battery or AC power.

Q: 5. Can this stage box be used to expand the number of mixable inputs on a PreSonus StudioLive 16R?

A: No, the StudioLive 16R is not able to be expanded with more inputs using the NSB 8.8 stagebox.

Q: 6. This Mixer, have a 48 Phanton volt?

A: Yes, this will provide phantom power (48volts)

Q: 7. can i mix 32 channel at one time please?

A: All 32 channels of the USB audio interface are available for multi-track recording and playback.

Q: 8. does this board have speaker delays?

A: Thank you for your question. At this time there is no speaker delays on the output section.

Q: 9. Does this unit work with the Midas 32 live?

A: Yes. The Midas DL153 Stagebox is compatible with all Midas digital consoles and audio system engines, as well as with any other AES50-equipped devices.

Q: 10. How can I split the inputs for video recording?

A: The cleanest way to split the inputs would be to purchase and utilizing a DANTE option card (SO5031819V ) for the SI 40. Then with a separate purchase of DANTE Virtual Soundcard loaded on a computer, you could record up to 64 tracks of audio into a DAW to sync to a video recording later. This would require connecting the DANTE card and computer via a DANTE approved switch (BH#CISG35010K9N), and using DANTE controller to route the audio from the board to the computer. Please not that the console itself would control the overall gain level of each channel.

[Gray] The Shape Matte 44 matte box is a great asset to my camera package. It is well built; very sturdy and tight. I am using it with a Sony FS7 and its adjustability allows it to fit perfectly. The swivel action easily allows for lens access and the filter holders hold firm. My only complaint is that the French flags fit a little loosely but otherwise I am very happy with my Matt44!

[55 W] I purchased this to use initially with my Allen & Heath QU-16, so I could get rid of my analog snakes. I liked this one so much I bought another one to gang up for 32-inputs when I use my QU-32. The build-quality seems to be good, a few gigs will be the real test. I have a road case for this to keep it from getting knocked around. I like the fact that you can daisy-chain another dSNAKE box off it, that way i can have 16-inputs at the back of the stage and run another AB168 at the front of the stage with sends for floor monitors. Getting my QU-16 to recognize the box was as easy as plugging in a Cat5 cable and using the on-screen controls to configure the outputs.

[55 W] I acquired this mixer as a replacement for a Soundcraft UI-16 that required two repairs in less than a year. At that point I realized the need of a reliable and better quality mixer within my budget and needs. I considered many options in the price and IO category. I'm always trying to save space and time while assuring high quality sound.

This mixer is tiny but awesome. It worked great out of the box. Connection was easy and straightforward. The iOS app is easy to use and almost identical to the X Air. This is good since there are a lot of tutorial videos in YouTube. Sound quality is so good and in my opinion, superior to the XR, note that there are Midas preamps here. No negligible floor noise, zero, nada. Paired with my Bose L1 model 2 is phenomenal. Sound is bold and powerful. So superior to the UI also. The preamps of the Soundcraft are noisy and by no means discrete.

There are effects and inserts not found in the Behringer unit like a Midas Leisure compressor, leveling amplifier and Sub Octaver, for example. By the way, the effects sound incredible and you have so many of them to choose. Fat channel strip is also powerful. Another great feature is Auto Mix, so easy to set up and works great. Neutrik connectors with locks are also present, not found in Behringer XR. It also comes with rack ears in case you want to mount it in a rack. I got a Gator case which fits perfectly and save space.

So far, I'm impressed with the amount of features and options included at this price range and the Midas name on it puts this mixer, in my opinion, in a higher shelf. For my applications which includes 3-4 acoustic guitars and equal number of vocals this is a great product. Managing the sound from and iPad in your mic stand is extraordinary. Recommended.
