Q: 1. can i use these blanks in a stand alone analog to digital recorder?

A: I use music CD-Rs in a Pioneer CD recorder. Probably to prevent pirated recordings of commercial CDs, these recorders will not record on standard (computer data) CD-Rs but will record on music or audio CD-Rs (and music CD-RWs, if you can find them). So they ought to be fine for your use. If you are recording using a computer, however, ordinary data CD-Rs work perfectly well.

Q: 2. will these play in all dvd players?

A: No, not necessarily. You need to consult the operating instructions of the DVD player which usually has a technical data section with a list of supported media.

A: The top of the CD is blank, with a matte surface for printing. However, on the inner ring of the CD, Maxwell's logo is printed.

A: We can say that they are extremely reliable and popular but we don't have from the manufacturer whether they are HTL or LTH.

A: Yes, you print directly on to the disc. It requires a special adapter that only some printers have.

Q: 10. I recently shipped one of these discs to a wrong address and when it came back the label was peeling off and the disc was no longer readable. Is this something that normally happens?

A: I haven't tried affixing traditional disc labels to these as I use direct inkjet printing through a CD Printer which is what they are designed for. I'm not entirely surprised the label was peeling as the surface of the CD is design for that direct printing operation, not for label adhesion. Don't know what your budget is but the direct printing method works GREAT for these and I've seen discs that were printed 2+ years ago with still a great image. We are using the Primera Bravo 4101 CD/DVD printer but there are other models from the same manufacturer that I bet would work great too. Can't speak for the quality of other printer manufacturers but I know there are others out there.
