A: This works very well to remove dust from negatives. Using this in conjunction with an anstistat cloth is ideal. If there are any minute particles that are stuck on, etc... the cloth is good for that.

A: I asked Nikon USA this same question recently...on a refurbished camera, the shutter IS generally not refurbished or reset. The only way things would be different was if the shutter was specifically an issue and parts/repairs were done it. So you could end up with a camera with 1000 shutter clicks...or 10,000 . The only accurate way to check (other than taking someone's word) would be to take a photo with the camera in question and download it to one of the several internet sites. Their software can read the EXIF data from the photo and determine the actual shutter count.
