[Aluminum, Metal] I've used two other cages on a C70 on two ends of the budget spectrum - a Bright Tangerine half cage setup ($1,000+) and a Tilta full cage setup ($100), both great for different reasons. I decided I needed a minimalist setup that kept the weight down to a bare minimum. I was nervous about leaving a $5,000 investment unprotected, but eventually dove in and bought this skeletal cage. I love it.


There's not much to say about the baseplate, because there's not much to it either. It offers mounting points on three sides and has an HDMI bracket to protect your HDMI from being twisted or bent. It isn't a locking HDMI protector, keep that in mind. In my opinion, this is a more elegant solution. Fewer moving parts, and it does it's job. It's not there to prevent an HDMI from getting pulled out, it's there to prevent bending or twisting damage to your HDMI cable and the C70's HDMI port.


The side plate was a question mark for me, and still is to a degree. I removed my C70's hand strap a while back since the only thing it was good at was being a sweat collector. I installed the side plate and... I kinda like it? I don't see myself attaching much to it, but it's attractive, it'll be functional if the need ever arises, and it's surprisingly comfortable.


The top plate is fantastic. Since it attaches to both the top shoe and the sensor plane marker mounting points, and feels nice and secure. It offers the combination of mounting points I need for my setup. I opted for the cage-only bundle since I already own the awesome Kondor Blue Talon handle that I love.

[12.2 x 9.4 x 9"] Maybe a tad pricey for what it is, but it sits well above its competition. I've had numerous 501-to-Arca adapters in my life and this is the best one I've used. Very solid and well built, the tightening knob on the Arca Swiss plate is comfortable to tighten. It's the most versatile one as well because you can rotate the Arca adapter from horizontal to vertical orientation, so it fits both L-bracket style Arca plates but also vertical Arca Swiss QR plates a lot of 15mm LWS kits are using nowadays. Don't second guess it, just get it.

[5.13 lb] Solid build, no wiggle. Looks nice and provides the necessary mounting points and stability for a wide variety of scenarios. Works well with the VR lens too- everything is behind the lens, so no obstructions.

[Canon EOS R7] I love using this cage with the Kondor Blue v-mount battery plate and monitor mount. I added a small rig side handle to finish it off. It's awesome!

[5.13 lb] The specs show that the package is 4 long. Why I would care I don't know. The plate itself is very short, 1.95 / 50mm long. If you are planning to add a second screw and mount it in two places, you have exactly 1.37 / 35mm screw center to screw center to mount both. My smallrig universal large cage doesn't have screws that close together on the bottom. Worth measuring.

[12.2 x 9.4 x 9"] The cage fits the R7 perfectly, a very rugged fit, then cable clamp fits very well and the does not obstruct any flaps, the cage however obstructs the record and ISO button a bit when held in different ways but nothing that can't be worked out in the menu and I don't use those buttons at often anyway. but highly I recommend this cage

[5.13 lb] Yep, it works with my camera (Canon 5D Mark II ). No problems here. Easy to attach and easy to use.

[Canon EOS R7] Top notch shoulder rig for various camera sizes. Kondor Blue parts are well built, rugged, and quickly adjustable... which is why I think they're the best rig attachments out there. Nothing comes loose or moves around on me during critical production moments. I paired it with my Sony Z190, Atomos Shinobi 5 4k monitor, and the Libec ZFC-L LANC Zoom and Focus control. A+ rig which I highly recommend!

[12.2 x 9.4 x 9"] Most cages for the Canon R5 C (and R5) block your path to change the filter in the Canon filter adapter.

This cage leaves that path open. It additionally is build very solid and the quality is excellent.

[Aluminum, Metal] You really need a camera-specific plate, and this one is very nice. It would be nicer if it was half the price, but it's still worth it. Fits perfectly, rock solid, is well made and well finished right here in the USA, strong, built to last. A perfecly functional piece of gear.
