Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. If I am recording on my iPhone and I receive a call or text will it disrupt my recording? Or if my phone is on airplane mode will that work to block out interruptions? I have heard sometimes it won't record on airplane mode.

A: Your recording will be interrupted if a call comes in. Placing the phone on airplane mode will prevent interruptions and also guarantee your mic does not pick up the RF (radio interference) emitted by your phone. Having your phone in airplane mode should not hinder your capability to record.

Q: 2. Will this work with my Audio Technica Pro 88W

A: No it is designed specifically for smartphones. it offers a TRRS connector. The wireless is TRS -1/8 (3.5mm) Mini unbalanced. This is the replacement microphone: Audio-Technica MT830mW Omni-Directional Condenser Lavalier Microphone for PRO-88 Transmitter B&H # AUMT830MW

Q: 3. I give public speeches using bluetooth loudspeakers. Can I use this mic via my phone's bluetooth instead of handheld mic?

A: When I have my Bluetooth running and my phone rings, the whole co versations cN be heard on the speakers. To me it means that the sound going into the phone s microphone travels to the speaker. I used this lavalier to record o. The phone only, but if I follow the logic, it might work. Alternatively, I might want to try your blue tooth earpiece if you have one. Sorry I cannot have a straight answer for you, but ideas sometimes help. Good luck with your speech.

Q: 4. What is the cable length of this mic?

A: 1180 mm = 3.87 feet/46.45 inches

Q: 5. (This question is in regards to the Rode Rec app.) How much free storage space would I need on my iPhone to record approximately 30 minutes of audio?

A: Output in multiple formats including WAV, MP3, AIFF, AAC, Apple Lossless, FLAC and more. The memory used will be dependent upon the codec used. So recorded in standard Apple file format at 128kbps will yield a file size of about 28MB which is .028GB.

Q: 6. Do this microphone works whit the transmitter an receiver of the -rode wireless lavalier film kit?

A: Hello Guillermo, out of the box, no the SmartLav+ would not work. The SmartLav+ has a TRRS 1/8" connection and the TX-Belt has a 1/8" TRS connection. If you would like to convert the SmartLav+ for this, you simply need the SC3 adapter cable from Rode. However, the Filmmaker comes with the Rode Lavalier in box.

Q: 7. Will this mic record audio in the Camera app if I am recording a person talking? Or does it only record audio in the Rode Rec App?

A: This mic connects to your phone and then from their you would have to open voice recorder then in editing sync up the audio from your phone to the footage.

Q: 8. I'd like a little longer cord. Can I use an auxiliary cord to add some length? And what kind of cable would I use? Would signal denigration be an issue with the longer cable? Thank you

A: I've been using a 10ft cord sometimes with the TRRSTRS adapter for my H1 Zoom. If you are using on your mobile, make sure you have a TRRS female to TRRS male extension. I love this mic! 100% reliable!

Q: 9. How long is the cable ?

A: It is 1.2m long.

Q: 10. What would be a good app or program to use with this microphone ?

A: It really depends on the purpose of your recording. I use it natively with iOS to do screen captures, iMovie for voice overs, Facebook/Instagram/periscope livestreaming, RODE Record for random notes or podcasts, Anchor podcasts, GarageBand, and I have used it with the RODE sc6 for Skype/FaceTime calls.

[Omnidirectional] What an enormous improvement we had when we switched to this mic for our Viola player. It was better than the Band we had before. If you are looking for the best sound for your string instrument, this is it!

[Omnidirectional] Great build quality, definitely feels like it can withstand a slight beating and some fumbling around in your bag. Sounds great when paired with the wireless Filmmaker kit or wired into an external recorder. The bag that comes with it for storage is handy as well so you don't have a ton of these just laying around. Exactly what I expected from Rode!

[Omnidirectional] A quality lavalier that solves one of the problems inherent with these mics, i.e., a modular cable that can be replaced if the attachment to the mic or plug becomes worn. Can be used with an XLR cable as a condenser mic (needs phantom power) or with a 1/8 plug (with a recorder that has a power boost capability).

[0.555 lb] ENG/EPK. This is a great entry into the lavalier mic market. I prefer the tram at this point, but is much improved over Sennheiser ME-2 lavaliers.

[0.555 lb] I purchased this along with the Rode VXLR+. The thread-lock on the 3.5mm connector of the lav fits perfectly with connector on the adapter/converter. This allows me to belt-clip (included with the VXLR+) the adapter/converter to the talent and run an XLR mic cable back to the mixer with phantom power when needed in place of connecting the lav to a bodypack for wireless use. It also fully inserts into the transmitters of the Rode Wireless Go II system. My other non-Rode wireless system came with lav mics but they sound terrible next this mic and/or the Rode Lavalier Go mics I purchased.

[Black] Compact design, lightweight, with a water tight carry Pelican box! Pricey, but worth it. Lavalier by Rode Microphones are used by all media networks (CNN, ABC, CBS AND NBC).The only drawback is that an adapter (extra purchase $$) must be used for any type of connection.

[Black] This mic was purchased for the InvisiLab system to be used on a TV show and our initial tests are positive so far.

[Omnidirectional] Bought this to go with our Saramonic UWMic9 transmitters, to replace the rather large ones included in the kit. The Micon adapter is a really great design, allowing you to adapt these mics to different body packs and uses. Gives them a bit of future proofing and flexibility to be used with wireless packs, or hardwired with a separate XLR adapter. Really impressed with how this sounds - definitely recommend them!

[0.555 lb] I work as a Breaking News Stringer for TV News, and am usually in noisy environments. This lav provided clean sound in most situations.
