Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can this lens used on a full-frame camera?

A: The Sirui Sniper 16mm f/1.2 Autofocus Lens on a full-frame camera will likely cause vignetting and distortion.

Q: 2. What does the R stand for.?

A: On the FUJIFILM XF 16mm f/1.4 R WR Lens, and other Fujifilm X series lenses, the R indicates the lens features an external dial that allows photographers to adjust the aperture.

Q: 3. Is that a USB-C connection I see?

A: The Sirui Sniper 23mm f/1.2 Autofocus Lens (Sony E, Black) has a USB-C port for firmware updates.

Q: 4. Does this XF16mm lens focus at the infinity mark in manual focus mode ?

A: Yes, although I'm not sure I understand the point of the question. When in manual focus mode, pulling the focus clutch towards you reveals the DOF scale and allows the focus ring to move. Using Fuji's focus peaking you can nail the focus, and when focused on infinity, the DOF scale reads infinity.

Q: 5. Use on Fuji xt5 ... quality on the 40mp sensor?

A: The FUJIFILM XF 16mm f/1.4 R WR Lens will produce quality images when used on the FUJIFILM X-T5 Mirrorless Camera, with the 40MP APS-C X-Trans CMOS 5 HR BSI Sensor.

Q: 6. Is there any adapter available that would allow me to attach this lens to my Nikon D850's F Mount??

A: Not possible. Flange depth of X series cameras is much much flatter (thinner) than any dslr meaning the lens would be too far away from sensor and not able to focus.

Q: 7. Just got my Fujifilm XF16mm f/1.4 and started testing. I noticed there is strong fringe (purple or pink) round objects when shooting high contrast scenes at f/1.4. Is this normal for this lens? When stopping down to around f/4, it seems to disappear.

A: To be honest, i haven't noticed this. Have you tried using the lens calibration feature of Lightroom or Photoshop?

Q: 8. going to Alaska would this be a good lens?

A: It depends on what kind of photography you're doing in Alaska. This lens is great for landscape photos but not great for photographing wildlife.

Q: 9. Does this lens work on Fujifilm Xpro1? Would you recommend this one or Fujifilm 18mm f/2.0?

A: Yes, it does. i bought for my X-Pro1, and then switched t the X-Pro2. it works perfectly on both cameras. It is really an amazing lens and is top quality optic. i prefer it to the 18mm f/2.0 for several reasons:a 24mm equivalent is a better lens for landscapeIt is one full stop faster than the 18mm, so better in low light conditions and it allows you to create amazing bokehIt is weather resistantHope it helps

Q: 10. Has anyone used the 16 mm with the LEE Seven5 Filter System? Any vignetting or reflection issues?

A: With the appropriate adapter, the LEE Filters 67mm Seven5 Adapter Ring B&H # LEARS567, there will be no vignetting issues. Reflection issues are systemic to all filters and every effort must be made to flag off specular light at the source.

[f/1.2] I’ve been wanting to get into astrophotography for some time but my current lens collection didn’t give me the depth to be able to do so. Not anymore...this lens is amazing and captures the night sky crisp and clear. And as others have stated, the bokeh is pretty amazing. An expensive lens for sure but a must for your kit.

[Autofocus] I have a Nikon Z30 and originally just the kit lens. I wanted something with a lower F-stop and autofocus so I could get more of that “cinematic” (trigger word I know) look to my shots. Primarily I film Tiktoks/Reels for some short form music content for myself. I didn’t want to spent a ton of money and didn’t know where to start and lucky for me I found this lens.

I’m very much an amateur and have no idea what I’m doing but if you’re here looking to get something more out of your shots I highly recommend this lens. BUT, before you doing anything at all lens wise GET LIGHTS. Cheap ones are fine I spent $80 on 2 lights and it changed everything. Then after that, if you still feel like you need somewhere to start like me, and on a budget, then this is the product.

[58 mm (Front)] Great results for both photo and video. Even wide open the lens acceptably sharp for photos. For video the results wide open are excellent.

[f/1.2] First of all, I bought XT-5 along with Sigma 18-50 recently after being a long time Canon full frame shooter. I really like to see how the Fuji lens perform. I picked this one after seeing YT and other sources. Now after two weeks, I have to say I love the build quality and outcomes, the F1.4 gives the best sharp/blur contract I ever had, closeness to the objects is big for me, the ring to switch the auto/manual and much more. The images is perfect both in sharpness and colors. Now I am happy that I have a much lighter gear to carry with to ever vacation.

[Autofocus] This lens has of course been around for many years now, so you know everything you want to about it. But I just finally got my own and I can absolutely say it lives up to the legend! I tend to shoot close up details, street scenes, landscapes, and dabble in astrophotography all as a novice enthusiast, and this lens ticks every box for everything I want to do. There's just something about this lens that makes me want to go out and shoot all the time, and in the end isn't that the point?

[Autofocus] I am an amateur photographer who dedicates myself only to capturing beautiful family memories. For the use I give my equipment, it seems excellent. Happy with the purchase.

[Autofocus] I love how this lens feels on my X-E2s. So many reviews claim that its big and heavy; dont let that scare you. I was worried the XF 16mm would be too big for the X-E2s, but it feels awesome, like a hardy tool. This lens does it all. I use it for street, landscapes and life/documentary. It has cured my Gear Acquisition Syndrome because any time Im interested in a new fixed lens camera, or another lens, I cant justify the purchase because this lens already makes stellar pictures in a wide variety of situations. I was especially surprised by the exceptional colors and contrast. Auto focus hunts in low light, but the easy manual mode fixes that. Bokeh is beautiful at f1.4. This lens is so versatile, I imagine the only other lens youd need in your kit is a telephoto zoom.

[f/1.2] Amazing minimal close focusing distance and fast autofocus (on x-pro3). Images are tack sharp and image quality is on par with Sony's lenses. While it is comparably a larger lens than the Fuji f/2 primes, I do not consider it a large lens at all coming from a past Sigma 35mm Art owner and current Sony A7Rii user. Build quality is amazing and paired with the metal hood this is a winner.
