Q: 2. Will it work with the GH6?

A: Yes, the Panasonic DMW-XLR2 XLR Microphone Adapter is compatible with Panasonic Lumix GH6 Mirrorless Camera under the camera capabilities.

Q: 3. Will the DMW-XLR1 XLR Microphone Adapter work with the G85, since it's electronic hot shoe architecture is the same as that of the GH5

A: Sorry, Panasonic designed this to only work on the GH5.

Q: 4. Does the Panasonic DMW-XLR1 work with the Panasonic D7? of not what comparable product does?

A: If you are referring to the Lumix G7, I am sorry it is not. Instead you would need to look at a product that connects to the 3.5mm mic input, such as the Tascam DR-60DmkII 4-Input / 4-Track Multi-Track Field Recorder, BH #TADR60DMKII. https://bhpho.to/2ewFSVe

Q: 5. does one of the legs come off to be used as a monopod?

A: The Oben CFT-6194L Skysill 4-Section Carbon Fiber Tripod with 90° Lateral Center Column cannot convert to a monopod.

Q: 6. compatible with LUMIX S5IIx?

A: Panasonic DMW-XLR1 XLR Microphone Adapter is LUMIX GH5, GH5s, S1, S1R compatible.

Q: 7. Does Zoom make this in 32bit float wide dynamic range for Panasonic Lumix? (like an F3, but sync'd with no cables).

A: No, Zoom does not offer any XLR adapters for cameras and there are no XLR adapters that we are aware of that have the ability to record audio directly, the XLR adapters are simply used to provide an XLR connection for a camera that does not have XLR inputs. The resolution for recording audio is determined by the capabilities of the camera or a recorder. A recorder like the Zoom F3 Portable Field Recorder does have the ability to record audio at 32-bit, but it does not have the ability to connect to the camera without using cables and the audio recorded by the camera would be limited to the capabilities of the camera. So the F3 would be able to record 32-bit float but it would be recorded to an SD card. Unless the camera is capable of recording 32-bit float audio, the audio from the recorder would not be transferred at the same resolution to the camera, even if it were connected using a cable or cable-free connection. However, you can utilize the timecode functions on the F3 and a compatible camera to accurately sync audio and video in post production using timecode.

Q: 8. Does the fairly recent G9 firmware update allow it to work with this audio adapter?

A: No, the recent Panasonic G9 firmware update will not allow The G9 to work with Panasonic DMW-XLR1 XLR Microphone Adapter.

Q: 9. Can you record to both channels simultaneously?

A: Yes

Q: 10. Is the included carry bay big enough to also fit an attached video head? Something the size of a Manfrotto MVH500AH. Thanks!

A: Yes. The carry case will accommodate a video head with flat base style type head.

[24-Bit] I had to set up music for an office X-mas party that spanned 3 floors and wanted to use the same audio signal simultaneously. I had not used Dante before. I set the transmitter and receivers up at home before the gig, using the free controller software. Everything connected and worked perfectly at home, then the next day at the job. Great solution!

[24-Bit] I was concerned that I wouldn't be able to configure this with my New M1 MacBook Air. Audiante said they would have support towards the end of 2021, not sure why the long delay as complicated apps like Adobe already have started their transition.

This adaptor is great for transmitting audio with zero perceptible latency over the network. You'll need a POE+ switch or power source, and your laptop must also be connected via ethernet since Dante doesn't work over WiFi.

[24-Bit] We recently used this in our large church building to send audio from our Dante-enabled mixer in our main auditorium to the nursery. They are about 300' apart, so pulling audio cable would have been difficult and time-consuming, but since we had network throughout the building already, this device made it simple. Plus, since it's digital audio, there's no chance for extraneous noise to be added over long cable runs.
We also utilize video-over-ip, so our switches are already set up for POE and multicast with IGMP snooping, and this device works flawlessly with that configuration. Dante controller makes it easy to route audio and multicast streams, so we're able to distribute to multiple overflow locations easily and without hogging a lot of bandwidth.
We plan to use these devices often in our upcoming building expansion, and it will save lots of time and money not having to pull audio cable and buy distribution amps.

[PoE (802.3af)] We installed this piece on our Dante network to add an audio connection to an auxiliary building about 300 to 350 ft away from the main building (head end). It worked perfectly and has had zero problems since it's installation. We would have purchased the two channel model, had it been available at the time of purchase.

[0.79 lb] Used this for a balanced headphone amp off of the Dante network. Works great! Allows for two separate channels as stated. No issues.

[24-Bit] This thing works perfect. Hook it up to your network with POE, and it shows up in Dante Controller just like its supposed to, then works without another thought! Indicator lights by the RJ-45 are handy to be sure everything is working. Were using this with a POE injector, and there are no problems. Welcome to the future!

[48 kHz] The AVIO works just like you would imagine. Plug into the network, assign what you want in Dante Controller, and presto.
Really terrific tool to have whether you need to add a last minute speaker or just working on a quick project and only need two outputs.
10/10 would recommend to everyone.

[48 kHz] I am using a these (along with Dante Via) to convert a relatively inexpensive set of active speakers into Dante enabled speakers.

Only con so far is that the AVIO adapter is larger than I expected, but definitely not a deal breaker.

Pros include near infinite (not really, some limit) speaker runs using Ethernet cable (also must have POE); no ground loop him (digital signal); and the AVIO device can serve as a Dante clock device.
