The Canon RF-mount Sirui Saturn 50mm T2.9 Anamorphic Lens Canon RF Blue Flarefrom Sirui Saturn 50mm T2.9 Anamorphic Lens Canon RF Blue Flareprovides a classic anamorphic look in a compact, lightweight form. Ideal for gimbal, stabilizer, drone, and handheld use, this lens measures only 4.2" in length and features a carbon fiber barrel that reduces the weight of the lens. The lens produces horizontal blue streaks when pointed at a light source, giving your footage a classic anamorphic look.

An image captured in 16:9 is de-squeezed to an anamorphic 2.8:1 aspect ratio, whereas shooting in 3:2 yields a 2.4:1 final image. The T2.9 aperture produces a shallow depth of field, separating your subject from the foreground, and the 10-blade aperture creates oval bokeh effects.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this lens designed only for 16:9 sensors or can I use this on a 4:3 sensor and de squeeze in post? I have several cameras with anamorphic modes.

A: this is a 1.33x squeeze and will not work properly on a 4:3 sensor, 4:3 requires a 1.8x or 2x squeeze

Q: 2. Is this lens weather sealed?

A: there is no specific data on the weather sealing on this lens

Q: 3. Where is this lens made?

A: The Country of Origin for this product is China.

Q: 4. hi, On the LUMIX G9 or other lumix, can we have the same rendering as on the gh5 ?, since it has an Anormophic mode and not the lumix g9... Thank you

A: You could still use this with the Panasonic Lumix DC-G9. It won't be exactly the same anamorphic ratio or the same anamorphic attributes, but it will render an anamorphic image.

Q: 5. Is there any adapter out there to mount mft to ef or ef to mft?

A: At this time we have only the FotodioX Lens Mount Adapter for Micro Four Third Lens to Sony E-Mount Camera, BH #FOMFTNEX. We are not aware of an option that goes in the other direction. https://bhpho.to/3dNbVwB

Q: 6. Pardon my ignorance. Everything I've read about anamorphic says that 1.33 is not strong enough and that 2x is needed to get the true anamorphic feel. Now, you add the 16x9 aspect. So does the 1.33-1 lens provide a greater squeeze in the 16x9 aspect or is it still just a 1.33-1 squeeze?

A: You will want 2x if your intention is to achieve more intense flares. But for the purpose of achieving a 2.40:1 ratio within a 16x9 frame, then the 1.33x will do just fine.

Q: 7. Will this lens work with Z-cam E2-s6?

A: No this is a (MFT Mount) and will only work on (MFT Mount) cameras

Q: 8. Will this lens work with BlackMagic Pocket 4K?

A: Yes, the Pocket Cinema Camera 4K has an MFT Mount. This lens will work with the Pocket Cinema Camera 4K. Just keep in mind that because it s 1.33x you will need to shoot in a 16:9 setting.

Q: 9. Will this work with a lumix g95

A: Yes, this should work with the Panasonic Lumix DC-G95.

Q: 10. Does this work with GH5?

A: Yes it does. Keep in mind you would use the standard 16x9 mode, not the GH5's 4x3 Anamorphic Mode with this lens as it is 1.33x.

[Blue] Surprisingly amazing little anamorphic lens. Sharp & full of character when paired with the Red Komodo.

[10] Few people understand what does it mean anmorphic , with this full frame anmorphic you can enjoy with really depth of field as 50mm and wide view as wide angle after De-Squeeze

This is a sharp lens , with videos gears like a high class but there is a disadvantage in the not correct horizon level in the corners , but i can accept that in this lens price , it is like a gift from suriu .

With 8k you can crop and get the good video , so its highly recommend if you have 8k or 6k

[Canon RF] image rendered so great. with Bmcc6k full frame camera has a bit vignette, but if scale up the clip like 1.1x in davinci resolve can get rid of vignette.and I can live with that. With sigma MC-21 adapter is enoght tight to not worry abot it.

[62 mm x 0.75] The results of the Anamorphic lens on the R5c are amazing. The lens has the right amount of sharpness. The bokeh and the lens flares add a nice look to your film. I plan on buying the 75mm version when it is released :)

[Canon RF] After reading the review in NewsShooter I thought I'd give these a go. They are my first anamorphic lenses (usually so expensive).

Even though I'm using this on my URSA Mini (super 35) with PL mount, the image captured is lovely - probably the sweet spot of the lens. It's full of character, but not too much. Sharp enough, but not clinical. The mechanics feel good and smooth build quality is solid.

They are quite a nice wide anamorphic 1.8x squeeze. For some recordings of the landscape in our valley, I wanted to capture a full panoramic. So recording to the full sensor (16:9) and then de-squeezing without cropping I ended up with a 3.3:1 panoramic. Obviously I won't be delivering a commercial project in that aspect ratio, but for my home recordings it's lovely to see such a vista captured in one shot.

I can highly recommend.

[62 mm x 0.75] Excellent value! Just make sure to buy a 82mm close-up vivitar lens set as well as it will make this lens a lot more useful and also mitigate some of its weaker points. Weight is great as well. Overall this is a very good mix of Anamorphic bliss for full frame sensors and image quality especially when you want flares a little more controlled. I'm using it with the Red V-Raptor VV.

[62 mm x 0.75] .I would characterize myself as an amateur filmmaker, or at least a serious hobbyist, who has had no experience with cinematic lenses. This lens was an absolute blast to experiment with. It's a solidly built metal body, with smooth-turning geared focus and aperture rings. It is manual focus, but with the use of focus peaking, very sharp images can be achieved. Not coming from a cinema background, T-stops are a bit mysterious to me, but the wide T2.9 aperture (which I've read is roughly equivalent to f2.1) allows lower ISOs in low light conditions. A nice bonus is the inclusion of a lens pouch. For an example from my first shoot with this lens, visit https://youtu.be/462z64lIzUc. I look forward to playing much more with this fun lens.
