Q: 3. Is this lens weather-sealed?

A: No, the Venus Optics Laowa Argus 45mm f/0.95 does not offer weather sealing.

A: Yes it is compatible!

Q: 10. I understand this could be a more opinion based question but.. How would this lens be for hyperfocal/sharpness.. for that dreamy Malik look, would it hold up(on a budget)? .. also will it work for 8k on say an R5/R5C with a canon adapter?

A: The Venus Optics Laowa 12mm T2.9 Zero-D Cine Lens (Canon EF) is a good performing lens concerning sharpness, especially when stepped down. The Venus Optics Laowa 12mm T2.9 Zero-D Cine Lens (Canon EF) does cover the full-frame sensor on the Canon EOS R5 Mirrorless Camera and Canon EOS R5 C Mirrorless Cinema Camera when adapting the RF mount to EF mount.

[15] Not for everyone, as they say, but surprisingly good for the price for what it is. If you want it for super thin depth of field and creamy smooth bokeh you may be happy. Stopped down, sharpness is good, especially in the center. Works very well for urban scenes at night as well and keeps the ISO down. At the current price of $650 I'm very pleased, but at list of $999 maybe less so. If you want an all around 35mm there are better choices, mostly slower by a stop or more, but then with AF or at greater expense. Beautifully built as well.

[28mm] The 50mm is a very good lense, nice and weighted, smooth focus can get pretty stiff in cold temperatures, give a nice warm image great boca and love the colours makes it quick and east to read. I don't know why the 24mm cost more thou.

[Canon RF] If you are not looking for perfection at this price, but a special way of rendering the world, you have a winner with this lens.
I take any chance to slow down and to become more creative.

[Canon RF] I was looking for sharpness and found it. While some of my other lens may be faster, I rarely open them up all the way. Shooting this lens at 2.8 resulted in very sharp images.

[Canon RF] This lens has stayed on my z50 since I got it about a month ago and think it will continue to stay there. I love the razor thin focus, the bokeh, the lens flare. I like the price and that it’s equivalent to a 50mm on a full frame camera. Since it’s manual, It’s not for everyone and every situation, but it’s really nice for more mindful photography.

[43.3 mm] These lenses are insane, I still preffer to DZO's Vespid line. The 24mm(mine is PL) is another great lens in the line up. Everything is great here, its a little soft but lends itself to more of a cinematic look in this regard. I preffer the size and weight as well as the look of these to DZO - they arent too small like the Vespid's (may be a selling point for you, not me) Low CA Low/NO breathing... proper housing screw in 82mm front filters- these are proper cine lens for 1/4 of the price. This is an excellent edition, now hurry up and release the 16mm, 105mm, and lastly 135mm so I can complete my set!

[77 mm] I have a selection of native Fuji lenses but I wanted to explore large aperture lenses. First I bought the Laowa 65 mm macro which had superlative resolution and 2:1 magnification. What a pearl! So, I thought let's get the 25 mm lens that was more appealing for me than the 33 mm version for several reasons. I have been extremely satisfied with the lens. It has quite good resolution and contrast at wide open and it just improves to excellent closing down a bit to 2-2.8. I like the color reproduction of the lens also. The FF equivalent of 37 mm fits my needs quite well since it is a bit wider than regular lenses. Chromatic aberration does exist but it is nothing that serious. Flare problems on the other hand can be quite annoying but it is handable. I just avoid direct sunshine what usually I do because all lenses to a certain degree suffer from flare problems. During night photos be careful about light sources on the periphery of the frame or on the horizon. There is quite heavy chroma. Some reviews have made a big issue of it but it had not bothered me too much. The only interesting thing about this lens is its focusing since it can acquire focus at 2 distinct locations. I have never seen this before. Their manual actually claims that multiple floating focusing can occur. Maybe I have a defective floating focusing system...writing to Laowa don't expect an answer...All the above included I love the lens: it has great resolution, sharp images and the lens itself is just beautiful! Not the mention it is the best f/0.95 lens!

[T1] The r5 makes manual focus so incredibly easy, I can confidently capture bride groom portraits with ease and know they're in focus. The bokeh has a vintage reminiscence to it which I absolutely love
