Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this product have a safety tether cord, to prevent your camera from accidentally falling when it's removed from the holster? Or do you just have to hope that you won't ever drop a camera body again?

A: when you remove it from the holster, you have it in your hand. There is no separate safety cord. I have a hand-strip so I am not afraid of dropping it. If you wish you can 'make' your own safety tether cord. The possibility of dropping your camera is always there, but has nothing to do with the holster. It is a great system.

Q: 2. Does this unit have a flap on the bottom to allow access to the battery and SD card?

A: Unfortunately it doesn't. You need to remove the case to change the battery and SD card.

Q: 3. Can this strap safely hold a pro camera and lens that is about 6lbs?

A: Yes, it can easily hold your camera and lens combo.

Q: 4. I'm used to having my camera secured by a strap and don't think I'd be comfortable without at least a hand strap for security. I imagine dropping the camera to the ground or into water if it's in my hand and not secured somehow. Are there hand straps compatible with this system?

A: I have generic hand straps on all my cameras. (Nikons). Hand straps don't interfere at all with this system. Great system, weight is carried on hip not shoulders or neck. Great for carrying two cameras, one in hand while using and one hanging on hip. Makes for quick swapping of cameras.

Q: 5. Can a tripod be used while this is attached?

A: Yes, the tripod plate or tripod head screw will attach through the hand strap slot on the camera bottom.

Q: 6. I have an issue wth grip strength, will this help take some of the weight off of my hand grip? Thanks

A: Thank you Daniel.. As you see from others (thank you all for using Spider!) the SpiderPro hand strap does elleviate the weight of the camera. It is the only hand strap that is situated high, close to the wrist, so it really supports the weight of the camera.. It also allows for your hand to go in and out of the strap with no struggle/wiggle you get with traditional starps (huge plus for pro shooters that need to work fast). Universal tripod connection (you can use your own tripod QR plate instead of the provided hardware) so no special connection needed.. You should NOT use the strap to actually carry your camera (it is not a handle) but for support, comfort and security when you shoot..Thank you,Spider Team

Q: 7. Is it compatible with Sirui Rectangular Softbox (23.6 x 35.4") ?

A: The Godox Rectangular Softbox Grid (23.6 x 35.4") is not compatible with the Sirui Rectangular Softbox (23.6 x 35.4"). The Sirui softbox requires a gird that folds over the edges of the softbox and Velcros to the outside of the box, whereas the Godox Rectangular Softbox Grid (23.6 x 35.4") sits inside the lip of the softbox to connect.

Q: 8. Can camera be mounted to Tripod while plate is attached to camera?

A: Yes

Q: 9. Would i be able to add another holster and upgrade the same product onto a Dual holder system along the future when the necessity to use multiple DSLR bodies arise ? In-case it is not, would i be able to detach one among the 2 holsters from the dual pro system and use it at will whenever required ?

A: I think so, I'm planning the same.

Q: 10. Has anyone tried this with a Canon 5D Mark iv?

A: I use this strap with a 5D Mark ll and a 7D and it works perfectly. It has a plastic attachment that can be adjusted to the size of your hand or camera. Last weekend I had a two day event and used this strap on both cameras all day long and I felt very comfortable with them. Also I felt very secure that no accident will happen due to a loose strap. It is anatomically designed to your wrist and access to all buttons of the cameras is easy. It is made out of leather and no sweat or irritation was caused to my skin. I have tried several ways to carry a camera on my wrist and this is the best accessory I have bought in a long time. I dont Think youll have any trouble using it with your Mark lV.I just love this product.

[Black / Red] I’ve been using the Oberwerth Q bag for a couple of weeks now, and I’m impressed with its overall quality and design. The leather looks and feels even better in person—extremely soft with a matte black finish that’s understated and stylish. I’ve had a few sprinkles of rain on it, and the water seemed to just bead up.

The bag’s design is simple but very cool. It’s a nice bag to carry around, being both very light and comfortable with an adjustable strap. In terms of capacity, it comfortably holds my Q3, extra memory cards, a couple of batteries, a microfiber cloth, and maybe a few other items. There’s even a little pouch in the outer pocket that’s perfect for an Apple Air Tag.

Accessing gear is easy, and everything is well-organized within the bag. While the padding is minimal, it’s enough to protect my gear from everyday bumps and jostling. One standout feature is the snap hardware on the front, which adds a layer of security—initially, I found it a bit tricky to open, but it’s designed to be safer from potential pickpockets in busy areas.

Though the Oberwerth Q bag is the most expensive I’ve ever owned, I love its look, feel, and water resistance, making it worth it for me.

[Black / Red] A handle makes me feel much more comfortable.
I don't like OBERWERTH policy of selling handles separately, but the product is excellent.

[Leather] I was looking for a sling bag that could support a Nikon Z with a native 70-200mm f2.8 attached and tried several slings including some from Think-tank. Most sling bags are not wide enough to Fit large lenses attached to the camera, and also tend to carry More vertically. This Sling carries differently because of rotating pivot joints on the bag and so can be carried in a more horizonal position, reducing uncomfortable rubbing points on the lower back. The quality is unmistakable. The zippers, hardware and leather are built to last a lifetime.

Oberwerth is a classic German company, very light on online details, which is why I am writing this review. At this price point it would be great to have less guesswork involved before hitting submit on the order.

FINAL THOUGHTS: This bag is for the person who doesn't want a giant camera backpack, who maybe wants to take a larger lens to a sports tournament, and not look completely out of place doing so. This is not for large wildlife/birding lenses (too small) but if your total length of lens and camera falls under 13 inches, it should work splendidly, while maintaining a sense of elegance, and a quality feel that will be present long after the price of the bag is forgotten. Camera owners buy way too many bags (the word on the street) mostly because all bags are a compromise of size, comfort, weather sealing, appearance, functionality, fit etc. the goal for me was fewer bags, that serve multiple real world transportation scenarios. If this review saves anyone from buying 3 or 4 other bags trying to find the right one, you might even come out ahead cost/clutter wise buying this. (I Can't believe I am saying this, but it might just be true).

[Leather] A superb walk-around bag in both form and function. The Q2 with handgrip fits perfectly. For added control, I also have a hand strap that likewise fits without issue. (see photos). There is just enough additional space for spare batteries, cards, cell phone, and sunglasses.
Most striking is the leather's quality and feel. Despite initial reticence about the price, no regrets.

[Black / Red] I can't stand neck straps and this beautifully crafted item keeps my Leica in the ready to shoot position. We must all find out what suits our shooting style best, for me this is the zenith of carrying options. Supple leather, strong and sturdy build (so yeah, I'm not worried it's going to break and let my very expensive camera fall) and makes the camera bag a dream to utilize without fighting a long strap. Perfect.

[Black / Red] I own a number of Oberwerth items and my love for their exactingly build products is only growing. When shooting my rangefinder I greatly prefer a simple wrist strap as it keeps the camera at the ready without the bulk... This Oberwerth Rhein strap has provided me my first second thought on that logic in 20 years. I readily switch my wrist and neck straps fluidly depending on where I will be shooting. The manufacture quality of this beautiful strap is unparalleled and will most certainly only get more supple and perfected as it develops a nice patina. The comfort of the soft and supple wide leather strap makes me forget what I have hanging around my neck/shoulder. I may buy a second just to have it.

[Leather] As far as I am concerned look no further for the best in comfort and quality. It’s simply the best bag out there.
