A: I have mine mounted without any extension, and it's 3 3/4 from ceiling to where the projector attaches to the mounting arms.

A: You may have to drill some holes. If you were mounting above ceiling tiles, the cable could exit before the joist.

A: Depends if you're projector mount has a 1.5 NPT threaded pipe as an attachment. This product is not a projector mount but rather a plate that attaches to the ceiling from which you can attach a standard pipe extension.

A: It is not designed for outdoor use. That said, the finish is pretty good and stands up to exposure fairly well. I would mount this in a protected area that is not subject to direct exposure to the elements. With regular cleaning and maintenance it might hold up for a few years.
