[0.59 lb] With UHS-II cards being so expensive, I decided to go with Sandisk Extreme Pro 200 MB/s SDXC UHS-I cards and this fast UHS-I reader which has the QuickFlow technology. The Extreme Pro UHS-II cards are only rated at 300 MB/s or about 50% faster. Using my previous
card reader and these same UHS-I Extreme Pro cards I would get transfer speeds of 85-90 MB/s to my computer. Using the SanDisk Professional PRO-READER SD and microSD reader I usually get transfer speeds of about 180 MB/s (range 165-185 MB/s.) It would have been nice if it also read CompactFlash cards and SDXC
UHS-II cards at full speed, but I'm quite pleased with my purchase. Note that the similar looking Sandisk PRO-READER Multi Card reader
does not have the QuickFlow technology.

[Aluminum] I have a fairly new notebook PC that does not have an SD card reader (many don't, nowadays). On Sunday's, I use it at church as part of our live-streaming setup, replacing an older PC (that did have an SD card reader) that experienced a hard drive failure.

I also have the need to transfer the post-service files from our three video cameras onto the notebook PC, for further use and processing.

The streamed full mix is also copied from an SSD attached to our Atem switcher, to an SD card for transfer to our local access cable station. (There are three of us involved in different parts of these efforts, so yes, that's just the way we do it :)

In any event, I needed an SD card reader/writer to handle the above-mentioned tasks. The reviews seemed positive, so I chose this item. So far, this unit is doing the job very well, and with the SanDisk Extreme SD cards that we use, the transfers occur very quickly (far quicker than the built-in reader on the old PC). Build quality is excellent. I've only been using this for a few weeks now, so I can't comment on long-term reliability. Also, I don't use micro-SD cards, so I can't comment on those. However, overall, at this point I would recommend.

The only negative I would mention has nothing to do with the actual product. Instead, my gripe is that some notebook PC makers are not including SD card readers, which many of us doing photo/video/media still need. Thus, this just makes another piece of equipment to be carried. :(

[Aluminum] I never thought I'd spend $50 for a card reader, but I finally got fed up with the cheapo plastic things I had laying around. They either transferred slowly, didn't work at all, or fell apart. What's more, the microSD-to-SD card adapters represented another point of failure.

This model has a high it just works factor, and operated flawlessly with the included USB-C cable and the USB-A to USB-C cable that came with my phone. It seems to support the faster data transfer rates of higher quality cards.

I also connected the device to my USB-C equipped Android phone, and was able to mount a card as an external USB drive without the need of an on-the-go (OTG) adapter.

[0.59 lb] I recently purchased the PRO-READER SD and microSD Card Reader and I have to say I am thoroughly impressed! This card reader is everything it promises to be and more.

Firstly, the build quality of the PRO-READER is exceptional. It feels incredibly sturdy and well-made, giving me confidence that it will last for years to come. It's also compact in size, making it extremely portable and easy to take with me wherever I go.

I can even simultaneously transfer files from multiple cards, saving me valuable time when working on multiple projects. The PRO-READER also has a built-in USB-C cable, which makes it easy to connect to my laptop or desktop computer. Being able to replace the cable in the future should the need arise is a plus in my book.

Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with my purchase of the SanDisk Professional PRO-READER. It's a reliable and high-performing device that has made my workflow so much smoother and more efficient. I would highly recommend it to anyone in need of a reliable and speedy card reader.

[USB Bus Power] Works exactly as I had hopped. Literally over 10X faster than my older SD Card Reader. Very well built - like a tank. Nice that it's USB-C too.

[Yes] After researching various card readers, I opted to go with SanDisk, a proven entity with my SSD portable drives. I'm very happy with the card reader, which joins the SanDisk-Pro CFexpress card reader I also recently purchased. They stack nicely, and most importantly they're very fast with my iMac, MacBook Pro, and iPad. I'm so pleased with this purchase!
