Connectivity/Features: This speaker is incredibly full featured. Through its app, you can customize its sound signature, access additional functionality like Apple AirPlay and Alexa integrations (as well as other streaming services) and more! It can also be played simultaneously in sync with other AirPlay devices for whole home synchronized audio. My kids love this feature! So cool for parties!

Build Quality/Design: The build of this speaker is just KILLER! It’s retro vibe and gold accents caught even my wife’s eye, who loves the way it looks in our kitchen nook. This is a design that looks just as great in a HiFi studio as it does out on the deck during a cookout. Timeless design and top notch build quality. Everything, including the handle and dials, feels sturdy and built to last. The functionality of being able to use this speaker on battery power is also absolutely awesome. Love having that option!

Sound Quality: This speaker sound absolutely awesome, let alone for its size. It has a very balanced sound signature, with clear highs and deep bass. It’s not overly bright, no harsh sibilance, even at high volumes. No distortion at higher volumes either. It just sounds… right to my ears. Other “smart speakers” I have tried in the past have always lacked a bit in the sound quality department. This unit does not - in fact, it sounds VERY good. This is very much a “have your cake - and eat it” situation.

Summary: This speaker, with its excellent sound quality combined with its smart features and killer design put it miles ahead of other speakers on the market. I would not hesitate to recommend this speaker to anyone looking for a great sounding speaker that also has smart features.

[1%] I'm sure the 500 produces even better sound, but the battery in the JBL Authentics 300 is the winner (for a lot lower price). I'm back in love with Music! Not that I was ever far away, but this baby takes me back to my awesome full blown stereo setup when I was 18. The only thing missing is the hiss, crackle, pop of vinyl in the Seventies. Vocals are represented sooo clearly, I feel like the artists are singing right in front of me. The mix is represented perfectly!

I have the Authentics in my living room on an end-table and to my surprise almost everyone who walks past it asks where did i get that Retro Speaker and how does it sound. I have no hesitation to open my App, provided in the instructions, and play what ever they want to hear. It is so user friendly through the App or by adjusting the Bass and Treble. I do however suggest you put it on a hard surface because of the large subwoofer on the bottom. I had it on carpeted floor and it didn't have the same punch.

It is equipped with Voice Assistant integration, Built-in Wi-Fi, The JBL One App like I was telling you about, a 3.5 mm audio cable Input, and Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant built in.
Just a heads up you will have to go onto you Amazon account to add the device I'm sure Google is the same way.
Also "JBL One" the App allows you to adjust the Mid range where the adjustable dials on top of the speaker do not have the option. Similar to the Extreme 3, it has a built in charger connection on the back. Very useful.

You have heard the Pros, now for the Cons.
It has some weight to it BUT you're not carrying it around everywhere so it's cool.

The build quality is very solid and the unit is just heavy enough to boast of its high end materials without being too heavy. The unit is able to be used on battery power as well as being plugged in so that is a welcome feature . Moving on to the sound quality, it is exactly what I have come to expect from JBL it is a premium clean and clear experience. With that being said it does take a little adjustment to get the sound experience set to your personal liking which definitely depends on what type of music you listen to. The JBL Authentic offers bass and treble knobs on the top of the speaker which is a nice feature and make the adjustments simple. With that being said the bass can be way too heavy if adjustment is set too high and you are listening to bass heavy music, but the adjustments on top make getting that perfect sound easy for all types of music lovers. Overall I love my JBL Authentic 300 for the beautiful upscale appearance and Great JBL sound. I Recommend it to anyone that wants a good looking quality speaker that can fill a decent size room with good full sound and offers the option of portability.

[100 W RMS ] I have had this for 3 weeks now and absolutely love it. I have been looking for a good smart speaker that delivers quality sound. The price is high for this one but it definitely delivers on the quality of sound. I purchased a Bose speaker before this and returned it because it lost the bass after 50% volume. Not true with the JBL. Music quality stays even when volume goes up. So long as it is plugged in..... I would personally sacrifice battery life if it played at the same volume regardless of power source. Sound is not nearly as good on battery. Fortunately I am 80% use when plugged in.

They make the listening experience better. The battery life is also great and lasts the whole time I need it to play music. Great product overall.

All around sounds from many genres of music were tried, and sound produced was fascinating. Now, the sleek look provides an elegant multimedia system. Features allowing it to connect to Wi-Fi, streaming music services, and smart connects help this item to be a need, not a want. Battery is averged to about 7 hours without charge, but that's due to all applications and connections running now. Minimize those uses, and battery life will increase.
