Enjoy ISF-certified imagery even with the lights on with the EPV EF135H-PST2 Polar Star eFinity 2 66.1 x 117.6" EDGE FREE Ambient Light Rejecting Fixed Frame Projection Screen. The EF135H-PST2 is a 16:9, 135" diagonal, EDGE FREE fixed frame screen, featuring EPV's Polar Star, ISF certified, ambient light rejecting screen material.

The Polar Star eFinity Series features an ultrathin, 0.4 inch, black aluminum bezel to maximize the viewable area for the footprint. The Polar Star surface is designed to work with standard throw projectors to provide superb contrast, color balance, and gain for 2D and 3D presentations. This screen material rejects up to 85% of ambient light for use in environments with minimal light control. The EF135H-PST2 is assembled using a spring and grommet system for attaching the wraparound tensioned screen material, allowing for a taut, flat surface.

All hardware is included, and the lightweight split-frame design makes for easy shipping and delivery to install sites. An LED backlight kit is provided with a remote control for added visual appearance. Additionally, a floating bracket for wall or ceiling installation is included to ensure proper alignment with your projector.

Polar Star is an angular-reflective, ambient light rejecting material which provides superb contrast levels, amazing color balance, and just the right gain for either a regular 2-dimension or full-immersion 3D presentation. This screen material is ideal for high ambient light conditions in home entertainment and commercial applications. The Silver-grey protective surface coating is a reflective compound that is textured to ensure proper depth for use in 3D presentations.

To obtain ISF certification a projection screen must meet a list of essential ISF qualities such as accurate color fidelity, uniform spectral response, and black level performance.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can I solar align in the daytime to photograph the eclipse ?

A: Exposures will be so relatively short accurate polar alignment will not be necessary. Simply point the mount to magnetic north and that will be more than sufficient; especially since the camera lens focal length will be under 500mm, I assume.

Q: 2. Does the current model being sold have the new illuminator ii? The main product photo does not show it!

A: Our current stock has the Illuminator 2.

Q: 3. Does this come with the alt/azi base or not? The manual leads one to believe BOTH the Tracker and alt/azi base are sold together for $299

A: Yes the the Alt Az base is Black and the motorized part with battery is Red. It comes with everything including a USB cord for charging and Polar scope.

Q: 4. Does this package include the EQ wedge and counter weight?

A: No this model does not come with the EQ Wedge, and the Counter Weight. They are sold separately.

Q: 5. Does this tracker have a setting that will just rotate horizontally without tilting?

A: There is no setting , but it is a matter of set-up. Mount the SkyTracker with the camera mounting block level in all directions. The mounted camera will then rotate continuously, and very slowly, across the horizon.

Q: 6. If I have a standard camera tripod and DSLR, can I go straight into photographing the Moon, Orion Nebula, etc., without purchasing *anything* else, or must I also get the counterweight, any kind of wedge, ball head, etc. for it to be a complete setup? I am comparing this to iOptron and need to know what else is required.

A: Using a DSLR should not require you to use a counterweight unless the camera and lens combo approaches the 11 pound threshold. I purchased all of the accessories just in case they were needed I'd have them to use. I only use the counterweight when affixing my ETX to the ball head. Depending on the total weight of the camera and lens, coupled with the stability of the tripod you have, you may want to have some form of counterweight, even if just for the tripod itself, to ensure steady images.

Q: 7. Is its dovetail foot suitable for vixen's finder bracket shoe? If not, how to solve it?

A: NO, Explore Scientific has a bracket shoe available. Requires 2 screws to attach.

Q: 8. Can this unit be used with film cameras?

A: Yes, really no different than a digital camera but if you have them I'd recommend staying within parameters established for a like focal length and ASA/ISO value just for ballpark exposure.

Q: 9. Is it’s dovetail foot suitable for Meade 6000 series 115mm refractor?

A: You would need this finder scope base: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1046161-REG/explore_scientific_fndrbaseblk_finder_scope_base.html

Q: 10. Hello. How well does the rechargeable battery perform in cold weather? best skies are often in the dead of winter. Thanks in advance.

A: I've used it in the cold mountain-top but have not run the battery down, most I've seen is about 4 hours use with battery still doing well. I do take a USB battery tank along as a backup.

[Polar Star] From an installers point of view, this screen really is nice. Install a top and bottom rail and the screen slides over the rails for an easy installation. The screen snaps to the rear of the frame for a very tidy and clean cut appearance. High quality frame, packaged well, easy to install... a good deal all the way around.

[Front] I use it in a classroom at a university. It's got a great surface, brilliant white, big and more than I expected. It looks like a big LCD screen on the wall, way cool.

[Polar Star] Good price good quality, easy to install (We did wall mount). The pull down mechanism works smoothly, no issues getting it to retract smoothly, goes slow and steady. Good quality image from our Optima projector on the screen, very happy for the money

[Front] Screen is being used in a 40 x 40 foot room with a 7.2 theater system. The projection screen is over the stage and is long enough to extend down and up out of the way when not in use. If the light were not in the way, I could have moved the screen even higher.

[Polar Star] This screen fit perfectly over the window box in my screening room.
I didn't want a screen that used power to raise and lower.
No wires or cables to rout and less things to go wrong IMHO.
I'm using an Infocus In188HD projector and the image looks great on this screen.
