Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will it work with the Negative Supply Film Carrier?

A: Unfortunately no. The CineStill Film CS-Lite Camera Scanning Light Source with CS-Litemask will not work with a Negative Supply carrier.

Q: 2. I would like to use this on a Kodak VPK ~1917. Is this a 8 exposure film or larger?

A: The Kodak VPK from 1917 appears to take 4x6.5 photos so a roll of film should yield 7 or 8 photos approximately.

Q: 3. Hi! is this 35mm?

A: No, this is not 35mm film. The Lomography 120 Lomographic ISO 800 Color Negative Film (3 Rolls) is size 120 color negative print film designed for use in cameras that use the larger, unperforated 120 film.

Q: 4. Will this film work with a Brownie Bullet camera?

A: ReraPan 400 Black and White Negative Film (127 Roll Film) can be used in the Kodak Brownie Bullet camera.

Q: 5. Will this film work with the (very) vintage Kodak Vest Pocket camera?

A: Yes, the ReraPan 400 Black and White Negative Film (127 Roll Film) will work with the Vest Pocket Kodak camera.

Q: 6. Is this large enough for a 4x5 negative?

A: Unfortunately, the CineStill Film CS-Lite Camera Scanning Light Source with CS-Litemask is too small for a 4x5 negative.

Q: 7. Does this work with a 1960s Kodak Starmite Camera? I just found the 1st version and want to see if the camera will work

A: Yes, the ReraPan 400 Black and White Negative Film (127 Roll Film) can be used in the Kodak Brownie Starmite camera.

Q: 8. Is backing paper marked with a "start line" for automatic frame counting cameras?

A: Yes, the ReraPan 400 Black and White Negative Film (127 Roll Film) is marked with a start line on the backing paper.

Q: 9. Might be a dumb question, but this would fit into a holga camera?

A: It should fit. Holga cameras mainly use 120 film.

Q: 10. Would it work for Kodak brownie starlet camera? 127mm. I look at more there is adapter for 120mm. But, it's is small box camera that might fit 120mm.. never done it before.. wounding if is possible.. thanks

A: 120 can be used on cameras that take 117 or 620 film by winding the film onto the appropriate spool. 127 film is approximately 2/3 the width of 120 and would need to be cut down and respooled. I am not familiar with the Kodak Starlet however.

[0.135 lb] I've used this kit for a few months now with no issues. I use a small mirrorless camera (Fuji X Pro2) to scan and the riser is more than adequate. I like the camera attachment method so I can actually tighten the camera down tight so it won't swivel or rotate on the screw. The Light Source 35 was super bright and even. I've recently upgraded only because I wanted to scan 120 film too.

[Black] I can scan with my room lights on and blinds open when using this device. This helps also to avoid unwanted glare/reflections from TVs, lights, windows, etc. It’s also helpful as it helps to prevent dust/debris from landing on your film while scanning.

[0.135 lb] I agree with Walter. This works as intended, and I basically use it all the time, whether my lights are on or off.

[Black] I recently got back into film and was shocked by how expensive lab scans are even at low resolution. Lower resolution TIFFs were about $14 a roll, but I was quoted $12 per image for high resolution TIFF scan. I went for the $14 scans but I could see the color and resolution were compromised, so I figured I would try doing it myself.

This is obviously a premium kit, and it took me a couple of hours to figure everything out - getting the correct height of the camera to fill the image frame, leveling things out - this takes a little time. I bought a 70mm Sigma APO Macro lens which made things a lot easier as it provides 1:1 magnification. All of the tools that come in this kit are high quality, and once you're set up scanning is a pleasure, and you get high quality, repeatable results.

Sure it takes up space, breaking it down is not ideal as then you need to set everything up again, but having a dedicated scanning setup if you shoot a decent amount is really nice. I bought the Valoi Easy35 which is basically a light source you mount on extension tubes to your lens, but the build quality is nowhere near as good as this Negative Supply Kit, and it is not as much fun to use. This NS setup is expensive, but the results you get, the build quality, and overall pleasure I get from using it is worth the money.

[Aluminum] Thrilled to add this to my Basic 35 MK2 carrier to scan my 110 film. Keeps my film flat for sharp results.

[Black] Ive used flat beds for the last 10 years, they are slow, the scanning software is out dated and they take up too much space. Flat beds also have lots of moving parts and wear out over time. Being a hybrid shooter I already have a digital and I was able to scoop a lens with 1:1 focus. The negative supply setup is amazing. It is a very high quality build and I’ve never had a concern with moving it. I’m able to scan my negatives much quicker with better software (3rd party LR integration). Over all the experience is much more enjoyable than having to cut, hang and swap out negatives from flimsy negative holders that flag beds use. So glad I bought into this system.
