[16.3 lb] Have been using the CS-529 heavily for a few months now. I love the automatic operation, and mostly use the BlueTooth app on my iPad for control. A wonderfully engineered product and the audio quality is firmly in the stereophile window. The tonearm design is beyond anything I’ve ever had before. Am so pleased…

[16.3 lb] I upgraded to the 429 from a fully automatic Sony turntable. The Sony was ok but it was mostly plastic and the push buttons to operate it seemed mushy. Also, there were limited choices to replace the stylus.

The 429 is a superb upgrade. It has a much better build and sound. The Ortofon 2M Red stylus is widely available and can easily be replaced with same or upgraded.

Setting up the 429 was easy - even for someone like me that had never configured a tonearm before. I'm using the built in preamp on the line setting directly connected to my powered Edifier speakers. I attached the ground cable to an unpainted screw on one of the speakers and it works fine. (Although, I'm not sure the ground connection is even needed in my situation.)

I also appreciate that I purchased the turntable when there was a $100 instant rebate and I didn't have to pay sales tax.

Overall, I highly recommend the Dual CS 429!

Simple to set up and great pure sound esp for the price. Obviously well made and aesthetically pleasing as well. I'm very happy that I listened to the great reviews.

[12 VDC] I came from an entry-level turntable, so I was expecting a difference, but not like this! On every record I play, I hear something I've never noticed before. And the wood finish is beautiful; no more white gloves when doing maintenance! Couldn't be happier with this turntable.

[16.3 lb] Playing Peter Gabriel’s The Rhythm of the Heat. Bringing down the house. The Beatles 2018 White Album and Abbey Road. Beautiful. Plenty of bass and highs. Paired it all up with a Rotel MKII and a pair of KLH Model 5’s. Extremely nice pairing for authentic vinyl reproduction. Everything sounds loud and clear, no hum or fuzz when playing vinyl through the Rotel’s phono amp. This turntable has gold-plated connectors and according to the us.technics website (https://us.technics.com/products/direct-drive-turntable-system-sl-1500c-k) lots of separation in the components to reduce noise. This is an excellent pairing for my needs. I do not know if I will use the auto lift feature. But nice just in case. Highly recommend this turntable in this price range. Extremely rigid and heavy build. I looked at a few other turntables in this price range and sure, you can get a Rega Planar 3, very cool, but I just felt that it was too fine and delicate for my setup. Plus I decided I didn’t want a belt drive. I guess I’m not a purist. I wanted something beefy and this is a beast with refinement. Super quiet and beautiful, matte-black version. Highly recommend it.

[16.3 lb] What I like so much about this Victrola Turntable, is it's sleek and does not look cheap like a suitcase turntable. Also, the sound is excellent. I bought this for my 16 year old's birthday and they put the stylus on the CENTER of the album! Ha hahahaha!

[16.3 lb] I was using an older Technics table and decided to finally try an upgrade. Sound, style, and function are all amazing. For the price point, this is an awesome TT. Would highly recommend. B&H provided fast shipping and amazing customer service as always.

[16.3 lb] The Dual box seemed a little beat up, so I was worried about hidden damage. But everything looked fine. Easy to set up, there is a YouTube video on a similar model. But it spun too fast. Dual support said they never heard of this and suggested returning it. BH tech support suggested to select 78, unplug it from outlet for a minute of so, then plug back in. This fixed the speed problem. Sounded good in my prosumer level system until it developed a skip. While troubleshooting I happened to notice a small barely visible piece of paper chaff on the record, probably from the record liner. Another problem resolved. Otherwise tracks well, sounds great in my prosumer system, Seem to be build much better than the audiotechnica it replaced, with a better sound (better cartridge I presume) .

[12 VDC] I am not an audiophile - I am returning to vinyls after a very long hiatus. I wanted a reasonably priced turntable that sounded great and that's what this unit does. Set up was easy, although balancing the arm took a bit to get it right. I have it hooked up to a Yamaha amplifier (S-301) and two Polk 40 speakers and the sound is great - clear and crisp.
