Designed for versatility, the Smart-AVI SM-UHN-4S 4-Port 4K HDMI KVM Switchfrom Smart-AVI SM-UHN-4S 4-Port 4K HDMI KVM Switchallows you to simultaneously control up to four connected computer systems using a single keyboard and mouse. Additionally, with support for up to one 3840 x 2160 resolution UHD 4K, 60 Hz HDMI monitor and audio sharing, you can receive video and sound from your connected devices as you smoothly switch between them.

Computer systems may be connected to the rear-facing USB-B 2.0 ports, HDMI inputs, and 3.5mm audio jacks using separately purchased cables while your keyboard and mouse plug into the dedicated USB-A ports. Up to two additional devices such as flash drives, printers, and cameras may be connected to the USB-A 2.0 ports and shared across the computers. Front-facing buttons allow you to quickly switch between computers. This switch also supports keyboard hotkeys and RS-232 serial control.

A: According to the manual, there is no mention of dual operation being impossible at the same time when using the Vanco Handheld 4K HDMI Tester.

Q: 7. Will this accept video output from a video camera (C200 specifically)?

A: The Comprehensive 4K HDMI Audio Extractor is designed to take a 4K signal from devices that can produce that signal, though it has not been tested with cameras. Technically, the Canon EOS C200 Cinema Camera (EF-Mount), B&H # CAC200EF, should be supported but has not been tested.

Q: 8. Will this support the Sony DSC RX10IV with all functionality?

A: No, the Atomos Shinobi 7" 4K HDMI/SDI Monitor will not have camera control support for the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX10 IV Digital Camera. You should consider the PORTKEYS LH5P II 5.5" Touchscreen Monitor with Camera Control for Sony FS5/FS7/FX6/FX9 (BH #POLH5PIISLNC • MFR #LH5P II -SLANC) instead.

Is the device capable of simultaneously passing thru the unmodified audio and video from the 4K Apple TV to the Samsung TV and extracting the L/R audio to amp powered speakers?

A: Yes, the embedded audio on the HDMI signal will stay on the HDMI signal while sending out the audio signal as well for a receiver.

Q: 10. Can labels be added to the multiview?

A: Yes, The DMON-4S supports placing a custom label or UMD (under monitor display) on the layout for each window. Using a custom layout on the DMON-4S will allow you position these wherever you like in the multi view. The custom layouts and text for the labels are set up using the free of charge USB Control Panel software.

[AC Adapter] Having compared prices between this KVM with others, I was taking a risk by not knowing will this switch validate such a price gap from its cheaper competitors. Outcome? Well worth it! As instructed, I used wired connections for my keyboard and mouse and everything connected without a problem. The switch easily and quickly moves between my four computers (3 PCs and 1 Mac). The keys and mouse as well as video perform perfectly. When I had to reconfigure my office everything had to be unplugged. When I set everything back up, my monitor displayed "HDMI Out of Range" for all my computers. Not good. Went on to the website and found an excellent video that instructed me on how to reset my switch. I followed the video's very clear audio/visual instructions and everything works again! Thanks Startech for making a very good product that met the expectations I had with its price. Then, also for putting together an excellent website with the resources needed to allow me to correct my problem. 5

[4] The KVM works great. Includes mic and audio switching. I had trouble with a wireless single dongle mouse keyboard with older versions, but it worked perfectly here. 5

[AC Adapter] I have been using a pair of these for two 1K monitors switching between Windows (at first W7 and now W10) and Linux (Kubuntu) for several years now. I have never had much of a problem with them. I have always used a wired keyboard with them which suits my needs since I use it on a desktop. I have also always used a Logitech M510 wireless mouse with them and that worked perfectly, including forward/back side buttons which I use frequently in Linux to switch between virtual desktops. I have never had to touch the settings in the KVM, which means mouse emulation has always been on. However, one of them died, sort of. It got worse and worse. I think they must have some kind of low power processor in them that deals with them mouse emulation and keyboard functions. I could no longer communicate with it via the keyboard nor did my scroll wheel or side buttons work on the mouse. Intermittently at first, but permanently at the end. I switched the KM part of the KVM to the other one which still worked fine. I had trouble finding a replacement at some of the other big sites where you might expect to get them, but was happy to see the B&H had them in stock. And, as usual the shipping was prompt. The replacement works perfectly. I expect to get another bunch of years of service from it. 5

[AC Adapter] I first used the chat feature to ask what exactly I needed to accomplish what I wanted to do with my 2 mac minis. I wanted to switch between the two. [Yes] I used this for a tight environment where a server was right up close with a video-camera monitoring system. This device makes it really easy to leave the cameras up, and just switch over to the server when I need to work on it. The small remote-button can be placed where it's convenient, instead of having to figure out how to get the KVM itself to be placed where it's reachable. I've bought several of these, over the past few years, and am always happy with them. 5
