[Yes] This mattebox is great!! Super light and versatile. Great for stacking filters. My only complaint is that the clip on backs are so expensive. But other than that, it is a truly fantastic product. My camera was knocked over on set (by someone outside of the camera dept.) and the mattebox saved the camera from being destroyed.

[Yes] Although this only arrived about a couple of weeks ago, I don't know how I ever survived without it! The design and manufacturing quality are superb, as is the completeness of the kit. I also bought the Pelican case in which the cut foam packing of the kit fits perfectly, so I am able to transport the kit safely. I could not be happier! I use the product with a Sony FS7, which it fits perfectly. All I needed to do was to ensure I had a good range of 15mm rod lengths so I can use the matte box with ALL my lenses. FYI, the majority of my lenses (Sony 28-135mm, several of my Nikkors and my Xeen lenses) need 8in. rods. I admit that I haven't owned equivalent matte boxes from other manufacturers, but seriously doubt that this kit is rivalled by anything on the market in its price range.

[Yes] This matte box is worth every penny. You may be thinking “it’s just a matte box why spend that amount of money on something basic”. The reason id edge you in this direction is the quality of Arri products at a industry cheep price. The stages feel nice when slid into place and also feel secure. The customization is great because you can build as budget comes in. It’s durable and adjustable. Wooden is a great company and their products have always treated me well.

[1.245 lb] This Matte Box is lite weight and easy to mount onto lens. The three slots for filters makes it quick to change. Takes a minute to change out lens if they are different sizes. I have a 95mm and a 114mm clamp-ons. I like the moveable sunshade that doubles as a lens protector when not in use. Good quality for the price and great for on the go equipment. May want to spend up to the rod mounted mattes for studio work.

[V-Mount] It's a little odd to install - it feels as if you're doing way too much dissembling and there's no real instructions, but the product is rock solid and works perfectly. I love the positioning of all ports, and multiple D tap points make everything so easy. All accessories get to stay on when swapping batteries. Batteries fit snug and is built rock solid like everything from WoodenCamera

[V-Mount] Let me start off by saying that Ive tried quite a few light weight matteboxes out there. Namely the Bright Tangerine Misfit Atom and the Tilta MB-T05 Swing Away. If youre looking at the Zip Box Pro then chances are, youre considering the other two Matte Boxes as well. Theres a few key reasons why I chose and STAYED with the Zip Box Pro vs the other two:


1. Its VERY VERY light weight, but doesnt feel flimsy. The Bright Tangerine is way too flimsy, and the Tilta MB-T05 still isnt solid (though it is more sturdy than the Bright Tangerine).


2. It uses 4x5.65 filters -- lower chance of vignetting when using wider focal lengths with your matte box.


3. Top/french flag is included (Bright Tangerine does not, you must buy it).


4. Versatility -- you can purchase the backplate that allows for Swing Away installation (which I tend to use if Im not on gimbal, as it provides more lens support) or screw on the clamp on back, so that the matte box installs directly around the outer diameter of the lens without the requirement of support rods.




Quality design, premium feel (considering weight), very practical features, and ultra light weight and compact. Ill eventually picking up another one for my B-Cam!

[Yes] Matte boxes are a funny thing... you definitely need them and they're definitely expensive. I test drove a few, ranging in price and landed on Wooden's. It fulfills all my needs. It's lightweight, durable, really ergonomically sound, and most importantly, fits my old vintage lens which has a super large lens diameter. Not many matte boxes fit the older, larger vintage lenses and this one did. I love the swing away arm and the filter trays are great.
