This waterproof device measures distances out to 3280 yards with one-yard accuracy, and translates the range into ballistic info in two ways—by direct connection to ATN's Smart Scope riflescopes, or by providing turret-adjustment data for conventional scopes on the ATN Ballistics app on your phone. Along with shooting info, the binocular functions as a traditional optic, with powerful 10x magnification, light-gathering 42mm objective lenses, and multiple layers of antireflective coating for clear, high-contrast imagery.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does it works without battery , i.e as usual binocular?

A: Regarding the Canon 10x42 L IS WP Image Stabilized Binoculars, the visual optics will work without batteries. The IS requires batteries.

Q: 2. I am looking for a high end -high quality Bino. I am down to this model Leica 10 x 42 and the Swarovski 10 X 42 swaroVision. Can anyone help with comparison info, especially if you have used these glasses? I will use these mostly for wildlife viewing and helping me find good images for wildlife photography. Thanks for your analysis. J.L.

A: Personally I would go with the Swarovski EL 10x42 SwaroVision Binoculars. I have compared both models side by side in a low light setting, and the Swaro's are superior. There is a slight brightness difference. Also there is more glass in both barrels of the Swarovski's. Build quality wise it's a better binocular too.

Q: 3. the overview says the close focus distance is 6.5 feet. the specs say it is 41.9 feet. which is it?

A: The Nature DX 10x42 Binocular has a close focus on 6.5 feet.

Q: 4. is this made in Germany?

A: Yes this model is made in Germany.

Q: 5. Is the front objective of the 10x42L IS threaded for an aluminum lens hood or filter? If so what diameter is it? The binoculars are obviously 42mm diameter, but the recommended accessories lists a 52mm lens hood. If the threads are 42mm does anybody make a lens hood that size? Sensei does not list a 42mm hood.

A: The accessory would indeed need to be 52 mm. the cross diameter is just over 2". And yes it is threaded....hope this helps.

Q: 6. There are many reviews that complain of decomposing rubber housings. Did Canon fix this issue?

A: I haven't heard of an issue like this in a very long time. I believe the Model has been updated since that issue has occurred. They offer a great Limited 3-Year Warranty that does cover against this kind of Defect.

Q: 7. Do these have an image stabilizing feature?

A: The Nikon 10x42 Monarch HG Binoculars doe not have an image stabilizer. Nikon does not currently offer that feature in any of their binoculars.

Q: 8. Is there a carrying case for this Pentax S-Series WP 10 x 42??

A: The Pentax 10x42 S-Series SD WP Binoculars BH #PE10X42SDWP • MFR #62762 comes with a carrying case. In the Box Pentax 10x42 S-Series SD WP Binoculars Neck Strap Carrying Case with Strap ********************** 2 x Objective Lens Caps 2 x Eyepiece Caps Limited 25-Year Warranty

Q: 9. Does this come with the Canon USA warranty?

A: The Canon 10x42 L IS WP Image Stabilized Binocular comes with the Canon Limited 3-Year Warranty.

Q: 10. Why did you choose this model over the LEICA Ultravid HD 10x32?

A: I am not quite sure what you mean. However I do know most people choose the 42mm Size because it is brighter, and better in low light. The 32mm are lighter weight, however not as bright.

[42 mm] When I use this unit, I am reminded of my childhood fascination of such a device in Star Wars- watching AT-AT’s approach on Hoth. It is lightweight, has an amazing HUD design, and as “space age” as I’ve ever dreamt of. I plan on getting an ATN smart scope to assist in night time varmint removal- so they ‘communicate’ with each other by design.

[Roof] Was waiting to afford this set ip for years, Nice combo package, high quality glass and range finder. Used them on a deer hunt last year in temps from 15 deg F to the mid 50’s F, crystal clear images in low light and mid day. LRF is accurate. In a overcast low light condition I could tell the difference between a young doe and a button/nubbin buck at over 250 yds. The detail on the wild turkeys at over 200yds was incredible. Yes, it was money well spent

[Binocular] Am glad I finally got these, been wanting a set like this for years, simple to use, Great you have a range finder and binos in one package, less stuff to carry and keep up with. Optics are crystal clear, can definitely see the difference in these over my older Steiner 10x42 predators, its real close; but you can tell. Eyes do not feel strained after hours of glassing like they would with lesser quality glass. Worth the extra money so if you are on the fence go ahead and get them. Only one pair of glass better than these and I should have bought them years ago while they were still below $2K.

[1x CR2] I purchased these for hunting and have used them for about one week glassing mule deer and pronghorn is the wide open spaces of Wyoming. The glass is shockingly crisp and bright with zero edge distortion or chromatic aberration and is exceptionally bright in low light. The electronics are quick and responsive. The controls are very intuitive and tactile. I compared these side by side with the Leica Geovids and Swaro EL Range and I could not tell a difference in glass quality. The electronics in the Swaro are worse but the electronics in the Geovids were superior (although I don't need a ballistic calculator in my optics). One thing to note is that the binos DO CALCULATE TRUE HORIZONTAL RANGE. Why that isn't advertised is beyond me. All in all if someone gifted me $4k to spend on binos I'd buy these again...and then spend the other $2500 or so on something else.

[Binocular] Great pair of Bino's. A little heavy but very functional.
Will be taking them to Alaska to video the whales. Like the fact that it uses rechargeable batteries.

[Roof] First Am I a glass expert? No; however my eyes can tell. These binoculars are crystal clear, can see details on your subject that you would with lesser optics, and can glass for hours without your eyes feeling stressed. The range finder is a great feature to have. Is also pretty spot on with known distances. For the price and what you get, this is hard to beat. Used these for deer hunting in temps from 25 degrees F to 45 degrees F, did not have any issues. Light gathering capability is also great. These are still within the affordable range. Sure Leica and its competitors have better series optics but it will cost you at least twice this price and may not include a range finder. Why I went with this pair? Convenience of having a range finder and binocular in one, currently own other Leica optics, affordability and quality. I understand that this series is made in their Portugal facility. I am not concerned with that as Leica from Germany has oversight and their reputation. Would I buy these again and do I recommend? Yes
