This 24" x 16.6' roll of Hahnemuhle Photo Rag Matt Baryta Paper Roll 24x16.6from Hahnemuhle Photo Rag Matt Baryta Paper Roll 24x16.6is a unique medium for pigment and dye-based inkjet printing. The paper itself has a natural white color, with no optical brighteners, and a barium sulphate coating yields immense color depth and detail. The heavyweight paper has a basis weight of 308 gsm, an opacity of 99%, and is acid-free, lignin-free, calcium carbonate buffered, and ISO 9706-compliant to suit archival printing applications and long-term exhibiting or storage.

Q: 1. Do these prints need to be sprayed with a UV lacquer protectant spray after printing, to keep them from fading?

A: If you are using archival pigment ink they should not need a UV lacquer though it cannot hurt if they will be in bright sun. If you are not using pigment inkjet a uv spray should help with longevity.

Q: 2. Does Epson Premium Semimatte Archival Photo Inkjet Paper require PK or MK balck ink?

A: PK, photo black

Q: 3. Can this paper be used with an Epson R2880 printer?

A: Yes. I have done so. Very good.

Q: 4. What core size is this?

A: 3 inch

A: The thickness of that paper is 10.27 mil.

Q: 6. Should matte black or photo black ink be used with this paper?

A: We use Photo Black with this paper and get great results. I have never tried matte black but it might have a nice effect.

Q: 7. Canon Pixma printer compatiblity? No ICC profile available from Moab. How do prints look with Pixma?

A: PIXMA represents a large line of different printers from Canon. For best results, choose a profile that's closest to the type of paper you're using. With the Moab Entrada Rag Bright 190 Paper (4 x 6", 50 Sheets) (B&H# MOEB1904650) cotton rag you may wish to choose a profile for the Canon Premium Fine Art Smooth Paper (17 x 22", 25 Sheets) (B&H# CA1711C005): https://bhpho.to/3yfmr8J

Q: 8. Is the paper short grain or long?

A: You'll probably have to work directly with B&H to get a specific grain direction for this particular paper. I've got 8 1/2 x 11 and it is grain long; another person mentioned they had 8 1/2 x 11 and it was grain short. The grain direction for this paper is listed on the back of the box as part of the lot number; you will either see a two-letter code of GS or GL within the lot number (e.g. 21055GL0218).

Q: 9. Is this paper compatible with an Epson 9000 printer?

A: The Epson Stylus Pro 9000? Yes it would be compatible.

Q: 10. Does this paper need a UV Spray Protector after printing to set the dye ink (not pigment) and keep it from smudging?

A: Moab Entrada Rag Bright 190 Paper (4 x 6", 50 Sheets) (B&H# MOEB1904650) doe not require the addition of a UV spray protectant in order to set normal inkjet dye ink. Just be sure to let the ink dry before handling.

[92.5%] I was trying to keep my life and inventory simply by just purchasing from B&H Photo Hahnemuhle's German Etching paper. This heavy weight paper is great for deep colors, sharp lines, and for adding a texture to the image. Somehow or other I decided to test Hahnemuhle's Photo Rag paper. This paper is just wonderful for softer edges while also providing rich colors. Depending upon which effect, I now have two wonderful papers to utilize. 5

[308 gsm] Pricey, but worth every penny if you need Archival. If Archival or OBA presence isn't critical, the Canson Photographique Matte Baryta is just as good and significantly more affordable. That said, the Hahnemuhle paper is brilliant. It's matte produces rich deep blacks and reproduces sharp details on par with standard Baryta and luster style papers. All without the glare or sheen. 5

[Single] Used this paper for a photograph booklet I produced about Waterfire (in Providence). The photographs look great; colors were vivid, though I would have liked the black to be a little deeper. The text didn't disappear or bleed. Overall Hahnemuhle makes the best paper for fine art reproductions. 5
