This 64" x 39' roll of Hahnemuhle Photo Rag Matt Baryta Paper Roll 64x39from Hahnemuhle Photo Rag Matt Baryta Paper Roll 64x39is a unique medium for pigment and dye-based inkjet printing. The paper itself has a natural white color, with no optical brighteners, and a barium sulphate coating yields immense color depth and detail. The heavyweight paper has a basis weight of 308 gsm, an opacity of 99%, and is acid-free, lignin-free, calcium carbonate buffered, and ISO 9706-compliant to suit archival printing applications and long-term exhibiting or storage.

Q: 1. Is the paper short grain or long?

A: You'll probably have to work directly with B&H to get a specific grain direction for this particular paper. I've got 8 1/2 x 11 and it is grain long; another person mentioned they had 8 1/2 x 11 and it was grain short. The grain direction for this paper is listed on the back of the box as part of the lot number; you will either see a two-letter code of GS or GL within the lot number (e.g. 21055GL0218).

Q: 2. Does the 13x19 sheet size run short grain or long grain?

A: For the most part all the 13x19 Entrada is converted Grain Short as this produces the best yields from the jumbo rolls. Embedded in the lot # stamp of each Moab box are the letters GL (Grain Long) or GS (Grain Short)

Q: 3. can you get this paper cut in sheets?

A: You cannot get this paper cut in sheets. But, you can get the Epson Premium Semimatte Archival Photo Inkjet Paper in different sizes.

Q: 4. I need the profile for printing this William Turner Matte Fine art paper with my Epson R2400. Does anyone know how to download and install a profile to Mac computer?

A: Go to the Hahnemulhle website and click on ICC Profile, then Download Center. The rest should be easy to download the icc profile you need.As to getting the profile onto your Mac: After downloading the profile, click to open then go to Finder. From the menu click on Go, scroll down to Go To Folder and enter /Library. Then Click on ColorSync, then Profiles. Now move the icc profile to the Profiles folder.

Q: 5. Canon Pixma printer compatiblity? No ICC profile available from Moab. How do prints look with Pixma?

A: PIXMA represents a large line of different printers from Canon. For best results, choose a profile that's closest to the type of paper you're using. Q: 6. Can this paper be used with an Epson R2880 printer?

A: Yes. I have done so. Very good.

Q: 7. Is this paper compatible with an Epson 9000 printer?

A: The Epson Stylus Pro 9000? Yes it would be compatible.

Q: 8. Should matte black or photo black ink be used with this paper?

A: We use Photo Black with this paper and get great results. I have never tried matte black but it might have a nice effect.

Q: 9. Does this paper lie flat (with no curl) after printing?

A: The Epson Premium Semimatte Archival Photo Inkjet Paper (24" x 100' Roll) will originally curl up, but after a while, you start to see it lay flat after printing. Now depending on the thickness of the paper and how long it has been rolled up, the paper will not become 100% flat.

Q: 10. Dual-sized for printing?

A: Yes the Moab Entrada Rag Bright 190 Paper is double sided so it can be printed on both sides.

[Single] I was excited to see that Hahnemuhle had released a matt baryta paper. I have been using it for landscape and outdoor scenes. I have not yet tried it for sunsets and night scenes. I love the extreme sharpness of the prints and how the rich colors just pop. I would still probably use the Photo Rag for indoor portraits but for outdoors this was great. 5

[92.5%] I was trying to keep my life and inventory simply by just purchasing from B&H Photo Hahnemuhle's German Etching paper. This heavy weight paper is great for deep colors, sharp lines, and for adding a texture to the image. Somehow or other I decided to test Hahnemuhle's Photo Rag paper. This paper is just wonderful for softer edges while also providing rich colors. Depending upon which effect, I now have two wonderful papers to utilize. 5

[Yes] Pricey, but worth every penny if you need Archival. If Archival or OBA presence isn't critical, the Canson Photographique Matte Baryta is just as good and significantly more affordable. That said, the Hahnemuhle paper is brilliant. It's matte produces rich deep blacks and reproduces sharp details on par with standard Baryta and luster style papers. All without the glare or sheen. 5
