The sound of the three synthesizers can be freely blended, and the flexible triple-synced filter LFO can create virtually infinite aggressive and screaming variations. [Attracktive] This is one of the best keyboards I own. Roland makes another great product.

[Download] I bought this for the uniquely warm and dynamic electrical sounds it offered, unlike anything I had heard before. The software offers immediately accessible controls to alter the sound quite a bit, and these controls are easy to work with. The real challenge is under the hood, which offers an unbelievably intricate array of choices to make to fine-tune presets and create sounds from scratch. Given the complexity of this challenge, some who are interested in the sounds of Waverazor might consider its simpler version, Miniraze, as an alternative.

[Attracktive] I've had this synthesizer for a little less than a year now, but have owned the original Microkorg since 2010 or so. Man! This thing is pumped with all the improvements you wish you had in the original Minikorg! The Speaker ultimately made this synth a must have for me, and it's really solidified my opinion on how great it is! I no longer have to unpack my amp, or configure a chain of signal routing just to get a sound from my Microkorg. This thing allows me to turn it on, and jam out in the open air. No headphones, or amps required. The New sound bank is cool, but not really anything to ditch your old Korg for. What's impactful is the D-bank of empty patches, that you can sculpt and save for. Now I'm no longer deleting factory presets when I create a cool sound. The vocoder is nice, and upgraded with 8 new Vocoder patches. The one we all want (A Dry Input) has now been installed, as well as a few robot voices, and sound that aren't so cheap. The color is kinda bland, but a few sticks never hurt anybody. The LED colors have been modified as well, in a better way. If you've never owned a Microkorg and have always thought about buying one, I HIGHLY recommend you get this! It's a GREAT started toy into synthesis, and when you really get into the bare bones of sculpting waveforms in the menus, you'll find you can do so much with this synth.

[Yes] This Waldorf Streichfett In my opinion is well worth it! I have a 1978 ARP OMNI string synth and have to say this sounds just as good or even better. Plus it just works un like my old ARP sometimes. The Waldorf is easy to use, simple layout like older string synths, And the ensemble button makes it sound real rich, Plus you can split both sides (string/Solo) and make it like two synths running on different midi channels if you would like. plus it has 128 voice fully polyphonic Strings section and 8 voice solo section which is more than you would ever really need. Great synth to add to your collection!

[Synthesizer] Always been a big fan of those massive 80s string sounds that couldn't be any further from the real deal. This little box definitely delivers the goods. Also, since it's a module, stacking synth sounds has never been easier. Load up a huge bass sound, add the Waldorf, and your half way there to recreating those terribly awesome sounds found on almost every 80s movie ever made. Love it. Great Jon Waldorf team. Also, killer reverb and chorus on this unit.

[Attracktive] This synth is versatile as any I've worked with thus far. Tender little twinkles, robust booming bass, shimmering pads, leads that can tear a hole though space and time, and thick atmospheres. Make sure to train your ears beforehand because if you aren't careful it'll blast them off. The filters are so flexible that I sometimes let it go too far and it can squeal like a pig. I cannot wait to put this through some extra outboard filtering and processing and let it's mischievous timbre meander a bit.

[Synthesizer] I grew up on the old Roland Junos, and was especially fond of my Juno 60. The sounds from that, the Juno 106 and Jupiter 8 were in a class by themselves. The System-8 brings all of that back. The sounds are there, as is the layout -- with all the controls out and ready to be tinkered with -- making it a great blast from the past. Having both a Juno 106 and Jupiter 8 all in one, along with the System 8 synth, is pretty sweet. I was skeptical of a digital take on analog sounds, but Roland's ACB technology delivers. It too, is in its own class.

[Standard] The DSI Prophet 6 is probably the most compelling Analog Polyphonic Synthesizer on the market at the moment. Having learned synthesis on a Moog Modular in the 70's it is clear to me that this little beast is the real deal. A modern Analog Poly Synth wrapped in a very modern feature set. If you're looking for the classic Prophet 5 sound but did not want to deal with the unstable tuning headaches of the original then your ship just came in. The design and layout is superb, with every knob and control right there in front of you for instant changes in modulation with no menu diving. In fact, there are no menus, just like the Prophet 5, however I did not find that limiting once I got used to it. The included sound set is excellent and much better that the sound set that DSI shipped with the Prophet 8 IMHO. If you are lucky enough to find a store that actually has the Prophet 6 on display you can use the 'Play' function in the sequencer section to preview the sounds. For me, the warm analog sound of this machine is what made it stand out from the other DSI offerings, however it was the outstanding Arp/Sequencer and Digital Effects engine that convinced me that it was worth the heavenly price point. The ability to use the Poly-Chain feature to link two Prophet 6's together would create a 12 Voice, Analog tone monster to contend with. Add in a full size keyboard and integrated power supply and there not much to be desired here. The available third party software really helps to round out the potential for using this in the studio and integrating it into a DAW setup. The nicely weighted keyboard is both velocity sensitive and has after-touch but for some reason the P6 ships with a 49 note, four octave keyboard while its namesake and other DSI offerings like the P8 came with a 61 note keyboard. Not a show stopper for me but it is a curious omission on an otherwise brilliant, modern analog synthesizer. Highly Recommended.

[Standard] This amazing little unit is too good to be true. In its price range it blows away any soft synth version of the 70s/80s string machines. To me it has a lot of Oberheim/Roland/Mellotron sensibilities. So much right at your fingertips, being able to single out different instruments (cello, electric piano, etc), or combine them and add rich built-in effects for incredibly unique sounds. I couldn't wait to get my hands on the Streichfett the minute Waldorf announced it, and B&H made it happen well before any other online retailers began shipping them in the US. Danke schn, B&H!
