A: This is a LANC controller, the camcorder will need to have a LANC connection for this to work with it. The HDR-FX1000 and HXR-MC88 both have LANC connections and will work. However the CX900 does not have a LANC Connection though, it will not work with this controller.

A: Would be difficult to manage. But yes mechanically it can be attached. Stability would be a concern.

A: Get two of these to mount on the bottom of the slider. Then you can mount on C-Stand. Be sure to use enough sand bags.

A: Yes, it does. I've center mounted it on a pretty heavy Manfrotto tripod, but my 5D w/ a battery grip was still heavy enough to make it flex. You really need to use two identical light stands or tripods to get the best results.
