[2.01 lb] I tried another M.2 enclosure from another retailer before this one, and couldn't get a working connection. I learned there are a couple of different types (sizes) of M.2 and not all enclosures are compatible with all devices. The description on this one listed it as being compatible and it worked immediately.


It also seems to be well constructed, with a mostly metallic construction and two small screws for assembly, and overall is a better quality than the first device I tried.

[16 gauge steel] Easy to assemble. Well constructed. Gets a bit hot when copying many large files but perfect for my use connecting to my TV to watch video files. Do make sure your M.2 SSD is compatible.

[16 gauge steel] RECONYX are very dependable cameras. Glad I spent the extra money on a nice camera. 5 year warranty is worth every penny.

[16 gauge steel] Before buying the Reconyx unit, I was a little hesitant because I had never heard of them. But they had the unit that did what I needed over the cell network.
My wife and I are starting to build a home on the outskirts of town and I needed something to alert me immediately if anyone was in the area when they shouldn't be. There is no electric or wireless out there yet, so this unit seemed to fit the bill.
When the package arrived, I read the documentation thoroughly (which was very easy and well written, obviously by someone who knows good English). I installed the batteries, and turned on the unit.
I downloaded the app on my cellphone and choose the Reconyx cell plan which made setup completely automatic. I was thinking "this is too easy. I must have missed something".
The next day, I went out and strapped the unit to a tree and chose what settings I wanted. I used the app to set everything up and then the app pushed all the settings to the unit over the cell network.
Of course, I did have to confirm that we had cell service out there and we did. The Reconyx app lets you know all the stats on the unit - Cell Signal Strength, Battery capacity, SD Card space, etc.
I tested the unit on site just to see what it would do. After I saved all the settings, I walked past the camera and waited to see if it would alert my phone. It did exactly what I hoped it would do.
I haven't seen any wildlife on it yet (it's only been 5 days so far), but it is very reliable about notifying me immediately when anyone comes out there. When contractors are out working, I just go to the app and tell it to stop capturing motion. This keeps me from getting a bunch of unneeded pictures. I just turn it back on at night.
This is a very impressive unit that does everything they say it will. The security I get in knowing my place is secure makes this unit worth every penny.

[16 gauge steel] I bought two of these several years ago, and I added two more very recently. These are a bit pricier than others but are worth it. They are well-constructed and take very nice pics and videos. I'm very satisfied.
