Fast to work with and lightweight at only 5.5 lb, the Sachtler 75/2 Mark II Carbon Fiber Tripod FSB 6 MK IIsupports up to 17.6 lb of camera and accessories, and with its 15-steps of counterbalance adjustment, you can tune the head to work with the lightest of cameras. The head features a 75mm ball for quick leveling, and the independent drag adjustment and tilt locks permit you to adjust and move the head with precision to tune it to match the needs of your shot.

The head allows you to tilt forward so you can tilt straight down and tilt almost straight up as well. Pan and tilt have three independent drag settings, plus a zero setting for no drag at all. Borrowing from the aktiv system, the bubble level has been improved, not only is it illuminated, but now you can see the bubble level from the side, as well as when looking down on the head, for intuitive leveling from almost any position.

The 15-step counterbalance settings let you adjust the head to neutralize the weight of cameras up to 17.6 lb, so the head remains in the position you set it and does not tilt forward of back because of the weight of your camera. This allows you to tune the head to match the weight of your cameras, allowing you to work equally well with extremely lightweight cameras as well as cameras weighing up to 17.6 lb. The zero setting provides you a completely free movement if you want.

Frictionless leak-proof fluid damping with 3 x levels of drag, for smooth pictures while panning, without jerks and vibrations. Identical across both horizontal and vertical planes, and allows complete disengagement of drag for fast panning

The FSB 6 MK II features Sachtler's Sideload mechanism, which allows you to pop the plate in above instead of trying to slide it in from the edge, and it boasts an exceptionally large sliding range of 4.7"

[Yes] Very smooth fluid head with nice settings. Would say it's worth purchasing.

[Yes] Lightweight but strong. No more bending over to make height adjustments. I bought the attachable carry handle and it's magnificent. For proper folding/closing of the legs make sure you get the right head for it. It does best with heads with the straight leveling handle as apposed to the petal (three-prong or four-prong) or wingnut style. It's been great so far. Did I mention how light it was?

[Fluid Head] Two words:
Game. Changer.

[Yes] Was curious about the new leg lock design. Turns out that it does work as advertised, and is highly useful. Today I was testing a 500mm Nikon lens and noticed some camera shake when supported on a Really Right Stuff TVC -33 tripod. I swapped the Sachtler for the RRS and duplicated the test. The previous shake was measurably reduced.

[7.81 lb] Using this with a heavy Ursa broadcast setup at around 22 pounds and have had good results. Very smooth. Counterbalance is almost perfect. I wish the pan drag could go a little stiffer, but its not really a problem.

[Fluid Head] Looked a little flimsier than I had expected but works great with my FS7 and AC7 monitor. The ground spreader version enable the tripod to go lower and higher that the mid-spreader version. Absolutely can't beat how lightweight it is for a video tripod.

[Yes] I'm currently running an FS7 with V mount batteries, external 5 monitor, Zacuto VCT plate+shoulder plate. Lenses are often at the long & heavy end. This head can handle that setup no problem. For general everyday shooting it will cover all my bases. From my days working in broadcast I grew to like a lot of friction in the head, and it would be nice to have a little more in the tilt axis for long lens work (e.g. surfing), but it's nice to stay with a 75mm system for genearl everyday use.

The head is also lighter than the Manfrotto 504HD I used previously. The prism spirit level is GREAT as someone vertically challenged. I also like that the tie down bolt can be removed, leaving a flat base for mounting on a slider.

I originally wished they made a touch & go version of this head but now have grown to like the advantages of the the Sideload. Mainly that there is much more adjustment range available forward and back.

What would have been nice is if two camera plates were included. The price to buy Sachtler's plates individually is nearly 5% the price of this head - which I think is over the top. Thankfully standard Manfrotto style plates are compatible however I would only trust the Sachtler plate on a heavy/expensive rig.

[+90° to -70°] This is the best tripod design that I have seen in my almost 40 years of shooting film and video. It's lightweight and easy to adjust and level even when the camera is mounted. I love having the locks where they are easy to reach. It is perfectly steady when using a fully rigged out Canon C300 and 40" slider. The magnets keep the legs firmly together for easy transport. It has all the build quality that you expect from Sachtler. I does have an odd rainstick sound effect when extending the legs, but that's an observation not a criticism. I would definitely recommend this tripod. Yes it's $$$$ (it's Sachtler), but your back will appreciate it at the end of the day.

[Fluid Head] I finally got to use my Sachtler Flowtech sticks this weekend on a short film project. What a time savor! We were able to move quickly between setups, which allowed us to pick up more bonus shots along the way. Who would’ve ever thought a tripod could be so innovative, but the flowtech system works really well.

[Yes] I'm using this with a C100 that goes from minimal build to completely decked out (Rods, external recorder, EVF, Matte Box, etc.) big weight differences. The head has functioned beautifully, showing only a bit of limitation when really weighted down. Just got back from a six country shoot, where it was set up and broken down a lot. No problems with travel at all. All in all, it's great to be able to have a Sachtler Tripod for this price. What a world.
