[28 mm] I compared these in person to the Vortex Razor and some other brands. These allow in more light, are better edge to edge and seem to have a wider field of view for the same magnification. I can handhold them steady enough to view Orion's Belt and to see fine details on the moon. These are very expensive binoculars, but they are the best. Plus, they are made in Europe and not in China.

[28 mm] I live in southern arizona where the land is broad and you can glass for miles. Ive found that these allow me to start glassing well before its shooting light and way after. Ive compared these to the vortex kiababs, and they dont even touch the quality. This glass is clear and bright from center to edge and great for finding those monster bucks we all dream of.

[7x] I recently upgraded from a mid-range Nikon Monarch ATB 12x56 to this Swarovski SLC 15x56, it is a quantum leap in clarity and brightness. The biggest difference is that the flat field (this bino is not advertised as one but it is in ~95% of FOV whereas the 12x56 Nikon is ~70%) so the glass simply disappears, giving a view similar to what I get with a APO telescope with Nagler eyepieces. Even at 15x, the bino is handhold-able to give enjoyable views. All of sudden I notice so many birds in my neighborhood and in many cases can count feathers. Due to narrower FOV and slower focus, it is not suitable for birds in flight but works great for perched birds on the trees. My other intended use is stargazing which is sensitive to vibration. I specifically sought out SLC 56 for its Abbe Koenig prism with 93% transmission to get the absolute best in the roof prism category. For astronomy, I plan to supplement with tripod mount with the very expensive SLC adapter. Handheld view of M42 is quite impressive though. For pure handheld view under dark sky, SLC 10x56 would have been a better choice, but my brighter suburban sky would be better suited for 15x56, plus, I would like the complementary wide-angle view of my 8x42, so 15x56 became my best choice.

[28 mm] This is my third pair of Swarovski binoculars. I also have Steiner's and an older pair of NIKONs. My goal was to get max magnification and first felt I needed motion stabilized ones at these magnifications so I gave FUJICON a whirl. That was a no go and not worth getting into but I went back to a brand I knew well. They are incredible frankly ! Sure a little heavy and bulkier than my other pairs and perhaps some slight stability issues ( I'm 75 so while I say I'm fine the fact is aging does affect such situations no matter how you might talk yourself out of it ). So VERY VERY happy and fully deserving of 5 stars by me.

[Roof] This is what swarovski does great - they make great glass. Different story when they embed electronics. Their glass is amazing, and because of that these optics are fantastic. Must have for big game hunting in New Mexico !
