This pack of 25 sheets of 17 x 22" Hahnemuhle Photo Rag Matt Baryta Paper 17x22 25 Sheetscontains 100% cotton and is compatible with both pigment and dye-based ink. In combination with the high-gloss premium inkjet coating, it produces stunning print results with outstanding reproduction of color and detail, deep blacks and perfect contrasts. The barium sulphate in the coating makes Photo Rag Baryta a popular alternative to analog baryta paper. The paper is archival quality and can be used for display, digital art, photography (both black and white as well as color), limited edition prints, and exhibitions. The natural white paper comes in a pleasant, warm shade of white and contains no optical brighteners.

Q: 1. I have a Canon Pixma Pro-100 and I have the canon 8.5x11 Luster paper for it. However I can't find the correct size for that kind of paper when I am choosing the print settings. Am I missing something or do I just have to do custom sizes for it?

A: I have the Canon Pro100...under print paper size is listed, Letter 8.5 X 11 22 X 28cm.

Q: 2. does anyone report results using this paper with p800 ?

A: No problems using it on the P400.

Q: 3. I need the profile for printing this William Turner Matte Fine art paper with my Epson R2400. Does anyone know how to download and install a profile to Mac computer?

A: Go to the Hahnemulhle website and click on ICC Profile, then Download Center. The rest should be easy to download the icc profile you need.As to getting the profile onto your Mac: After downloading the profile, click to open then go to Finder. From the menu click on Go, scroll down to Go To Folder and enter /Library. Then Click on ColorSync, then Profiles. Now move the icc profile to the Profiles folder.

Q: 4. Which ICC profile do you use for this paper and the R2000?

Q: 5. Is the paper short grain or long?

A: You'll probably have to work directly with B&H to get a specific grain direction for this particular paper. I've got 8 1/2 x 11 and it is grain long; another person mentioned they had 8 1/2 x 11 and it was grain short. The grain direction for this paper is listed on the back of the box as part of the lot number; you will either see a two-letter code of GS or GL within the lot number (e.g. 21055GL0218).

Q: 6. Has anyone compared this to the Epson Metallic Glossy paper. If so, do you have a preference between the two (glossy vs. luster) papers for B&W and for color prints?

A: Yes. I prefer the glossy for metallic. The luster subdues the metallic. I wouldn't metallic B&W's with metallic. But color I prefer glossy metallic and lustre regular.

Q: 7. What media type setting should be used for this paper??

A: Most Canon printers will have a setting for this paper. It depends which printer you are using and if not Canon there is a setting for other paper that is pearl or luster I would use that. Or make a few small tests at different settings to check which gives the best results.

Q: 8. Does this paper need a UV Spray Protector after printing to set the dye ink (not pigment) and keep it from smudging?

A: Moab Entrada Rag Bright 190 Paper (4 x 6", 50 Sheets) (B&H# MOEB1904650) doe not require the addition of a UV spray protectant in order to set normal inkjet dye ink. Just be sure to let the ink dry before handling.

Q: 9. Is this A2 size?

A: The Canon Photo Paper Pro Luster (17 x 22", 25 Sheets), B&H # CA6211B025, is not A2 size although it is close. Proper A2 size is 16.5'' x 23.4''.

Q: 10. Is this paper safe for a color laser printer?

A: Yes.

[308 gsm] I'm printing this paper on my Epson 7900. It does have a curl on the edges when you take it out of the box. I had some jamming problems until I flattened it before putting it in the printer. Put on a pair of cotton gloves and carefully pull it across a sharp edge to flatten. I really like the results from this paper. Brilliant color for a matte paper. I've also been trying the Pearl version but so far I like this version best. 5

[308 gsm] Pricey, but worth every penny if you need Archival. If Archival or OBA presence isn't critical, the Canson Photographique Matte Baryta is just as good and significantly more affordable. That said, the Hahnemuhle paper is brilliant. It's matte produces rich deep blacks and reproduces sharp details on par with standard Baryta and luster style papers. All without the glare or sheen. 5

[5.845 lb] This is a wonderful paper for large formats. I did color prints for a photo exhibit. Great Contrast, good color prints. I recommend its use and I would purchase it again. 5

[5.845 lb] This is the only paper that I use in my Epson 4800. I like my pics to look like pieces of art, and that is just the result I get with Photorag. I've used it for years 5

[25x Sheet Paper] This is that simple: You don't have to look for another paper. This is the one that combines photography output with fine art quality. There is no mimicking surface with textures. It is just a smooth paper with the highest graduation, details and contrast. You only need a good artwork to print. 5

[91%] I'm from the old-school, the one that said air-dried fiber paper was best for black & white prints. Being that I'm old-school - I'm always a bit skeptical about ink-jet papers and their claims. So, being a skeptic I bought a 20 sheet box just to see if this stuff was as good as they say. It is, it's better then they say. I shoot a full frame DSLR and have pro lenses this paper gave me exceptional detail in the shadows and in the highlights and I was using the wrong printer settings! After the first sheet I thought OK, I only have 19 sheets left better set the printer profiles right for the next test. For the 2nd test I set the paper profile to Velvet, selected Advanced Black & White and got wonderful results. Will I buy more you bet. It's expensive, but worth it. If you want to make fine art images you need fine art paper this is the one for me. I hope you like it as well. 5

[308 gsm] I use this product for all of my landscape prints that I sell under glass or acrylic glazing. Rag paper gives a depth and richness to images that I enjoy and it does beautifully with my Canon Pixma Pro 9000 and its dye based Chromalife 100 ink system. 5

[Single] Hahnemuhle paper is the best for printing rich blacks and clear white for B & W images. There are several variations of the Hahnemuhle paper and they are all good. A little pricey but worth it when compared to cheaper papers. 5
