See the world in a different way with the cinema style Rokinon 7.5mm T3.8 Cine UMC Fisheye Cinema Style Lens for Micro Four Thirds Mount. It is a lightweight, wide-angle fisheye lens that is optimized for digital cinematography and features a Micro Four Thirds lens mount. It provides a 180° ultra-wide angle of view and allows you to capture images of large structures such as sports stadiums, large halls, City-scapes, and similar scenery in a warped, dramatic fashion.

As with all wide-angle lenses, the perspective effect increases the closer you get to the lens, and this lens allows you focus less than four inches away to take advantage of the fisheye effect. It features both focus and iris rings outfitted with industry-standard 0.8 pitch gearing, so you can use it with optional follow focus units. The aperture ring is also de-clicked to allow for smooth iris pulls while shooting. Focus, aperture, and depth of field markings are on the side of the lens to aid focus pullers, who typically operate on the side of the camera.

With one aspherical and three extra-low dispersion (ED) lens elements incorporated into the optical design, chromatic aberration and distortion are reduced, producing sharper images. Additionally, the lens' design features a built-in petal lens hood, and an Ultra Multi-Coating (UMC) has been applied to the lens elements to reduce surface reflections and prevent lens flare and ghosting for improved light transmission and more contrast-rich imagery.

Q: 1. Anyone know the exact diameter of the barrel where the hood attaches? I am trying to fit this snugly in my matte box with minimal rear light leak. My matte uses screw-in adapter rings to bring lenses up to a standard 80mm for a snug fit with the hard mount of the matte box. However, the fisheye of course has no filter threads, so that system won't work with this lens. So I'm wondering how much light leak there will be...i.e., ***how much less than 80 mm is this lens at the front?? Thanks guys!

A: Adam,The front diameter of the Rokinon 8mm T3.8 Cine Lens is 75mm. Be aware that it has an 180 degree viewing angle so it will have you matte box in the frame. I tried to use this lens once during a music performance to mess around to see what I might get and I saw my monitor and front of my rig. This was with the end of the lens slightly in front of my mounting rods. So I would have had to adjust my camera mount further up to not see anything, but I didn't have time to do all that during the performance.Nick K.

Q: 2. Can i take the lens hood off to mount a ND filter?(for each of the kits lenses)

A: Yes, you can remove the lens hood from each of the 4 lenses. The 85mm lens has a 72mm filter thread while the other 3 lenses have a 77mm filter thread.

Q: 3. Does this lens create a floating circular image in the frame when used with a full frame camera? Or does this fill the entire frame of the full frame format?

A: Yes, it creates. It's not for full frame cameras.

Q: 4. I know this lens creates a floating circular image with a full frame camera, but what would be the solution for the Bmpcc6kpro?

A: The Rokinon 8mm T3.8 Cine UMC Fisheye CS II Lens for Canon EF Mount would work with your Black Magic 6K Pro and create a warped fisheye wide image. Image sample - https://bit.ly/3w1uW8z

Q: 5. Is this compatible with the Panasonic GH-2?

A: Yes it is. The Panasonic GH2 has an MFT mount, which is the kind of mount this lens offers.

Q: 6. Does Rokinon 8mm T3.8 Cine UMC Fisheye CS II Lens is working with full frame E mount cameras like sony alpha 7?

A: The Rokinon 8mm Fisheye lens is designed for APS-C sized sensors. You could mount it on an A7, but the camera would need to be turned to its crop mode. To take advantage of the A7's full frame sensor you could look in to the Rokinon 12mm T3.1 Cine DS Fisheye Lens instead.

Q: 7. working in A99? 8mm?

A: This 8mm lens can only fully cover an APS-C sensor and on the A99 you would need to manually select the APS-C crop since this lens does not talk with the camera. However, you can remove the lens hood, select Full Frame and get an interesting look with most of the image a circle surrounded by black. The top and bottom of horizontal images will be cut off.

Q: 8. Hi,- Is this really version CS II ? Because the picture does show CS - Can the hood be removed?Thank you very much!

A: Excelent product

Q: 9. Is there any major difference between this lens and the Rokinon 8mm f/2.8 UMC Fisheye II Lens for Sony E Mount?

A: Optically they are very similar. The difference is how they are physically designed for different purposes. Therefore the 8mm T3.8 Cine UMC Fisheye CS II is for cine use (note the gears for follow focus and aperture) and the 8mm f/2.8 UMC Fisheye II Lens is for photo use. Select the lens for your primary use.

Q: 10. How is the warranty/exhange works for the set? I read on the other sources like Amazon that some of the Rokinon lens samples are soft. If such a issue happend can I replace just one lens or will need to replace full set which is obviously may come to the issue with another lens in the set again.

A: It is our understanding Rokinon would require the set to be returned.

[0.65 lb] I shoot a lot of documentaries. I travel overseas and shoot in touch locations. This fish eye gives great energetic images without breaking the bank. It is affordable enough that I am willing to take a few extra risks that I'd maybe be more cautious about were it a lens costing 2 or three times as much.

[0.65 lb] Can't complain. Good quality, some distortion as expected but still looks good on blackmagic pocket camera.

[T3.8] I shoot tons of skateboarding and have owned a handful of different fisheyes for all sorts of cameras over the last 10 years or so. I recently purchased this lens to use with the Sony A7s (in APS-C mode) for shooting video and I could not be happier. This is definitely THE BEST fisheye I have ever owned. Not only does it cover the full frame corner to corner (no vignetting), but it manages to fit a wider angle of view than I have ever had with a full-frame fisheye before. Also, the de-clicked aperture is a must for shooting video and comes extremely handy while going from shade to sun or vise versa. The lens is nice and sharp in the center and only softens a little bit at the edges, but that is not a surprise with a fisheye this wide. The last benefit for me is having the removable lens hood. Many fisheyes have a hard-mounted hood, which if broken, cannot be easily replaced. This one can. Buy one. Buy one now!

[T3.8] I needed a specialty lens for some creative video work recently. I looked at this and the Laowa 15mm and also the Irix Firefly lenses. Why did I pick the Rokinon? Because Rokinon makes great lenses at a better price point. Additionally, the look that I needed for this instance didn't require all of the other bells and whistles. I'm only using this lens for those shots for a specific effect. The Rokinon 8mm is a fisheye lens that doesn't show the barrel either. That's what I liked most. It is a nice and more than decently sharp for what I needed. If you need that wide look without breaking the bank, the Rokinon 8mm is the one.
