Netgear IGMP Plus provides multicast functionality right out of the box for most AV over IP applications.

The intelligent fans may be configured in Quiet Mode help to minimize noise or Cool Mode for maximum cooling. Mounting ears are included for rack mounting.

Auto-trunk and auto-LAG functionality auto connects with other M4350 and M4250 switches, supporting nonstop forwarding stacking, spine and leaf topology, and core to edge connectivity.

A streamlined interface enables factory default AV settings or user-specified AV profiles to be assigned to individual ports with just a few clicks.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can I use 3 of these on camera end with a 2110ip 3X3G on mixer's end using a switch like the one you offer or any 10g switch?

A: Yes, multiple Blackmagic Design 2110 IP Mini BiDirect 12G Converters can be connected to a mixer via network switch, your video mixer would just have to support 2110 IP video input to ingest the signals.

Q: 2. can i wired connect 3 nighthawk ax routes to have same but stronger wifi signal on each floor of my house. like i can co with airport raccesspoint. ?

A: Yes, the devices can be configured as standalone bridges, they are fully featured AX6000 devices.

Q: 3. Would this product work with NETGEAR's SMPTE 2110 Compatible M4350 Switches? I'm trying to convert a 1080 60p camera SDI signal

A: If the NETGEAR switches are compatible with SMPTE 2110, then the Blackmagic Design 2110 IP Mini BiDirect 12G Converter would work well, as it converts SDI to standard SMPTE-2110 IP signal. 10G Ethernet connections would be needed to connect to the device.

Q: 4. What’s the latency?

A: Generally, the expected latency of the Blackmagic Design 2110 IP Mini BiDirect 12G Converter would be about 2 frames, but if the signals are gen-locked, the latency would then decrease to just a few lines of resolution.

Q: 5. Does the Asus ws x299 sage have support for Thunderbolt 3?

A: Yes, but you have to put the T3 pcie card in the 2nd slot and thus cannot have a dual gpu card. Wish I had known this first.

Q: 6. If I have 3 of these set up at 3 studio cameras, I would need 3 at the mixer. How would I use Talkback for the 3 operators?

A: If you connect all three Blackmagic Design 2110 IP Mini BiDirect 12G Converters to a computer via USB-C, you can use the Blackmagic Converters Setup software to rout your talkback to each operator individually or all three at once.

Q: 7. is it compatible with Windows 10?

A: Yes, one of my devices, an HP laptop, runs on windows 10, and connects to this router with no problems

Q: 8. Why the coax cable?

A: The COAX cable is required for the Internet service providers to allow the modem to connect to there service systems for an internet connection.

Q: 9. I understand it's 2.5Gb/s but is that upload as well?

A: You're actual upload speeds will depend on your internet service, but a 2.5 Gb/s modem can handle 2.5 Gb/s of throughput up or down.

Q: 10. Can this product convert or decode srt, tcp, rtsp transmissions from other systems? Like the teradek bond backpack or a live u?

A: The Blackmagic Design 2110 IP Mini BiDirect 12G Converter is not able to convert or decode SRT, TCP, or RTSP transmissions. It is designed to be used in studio environments with SMPTE-2110 IP systems.

[Yes 1 RU] Bought to aggregate between 10G and 1G switches. Used with the correct UniFi modules (DAC and SFP+ modules) the switch just works. I have not had to touch any of the negotiated speeds between 10G and 1G UniFi switches.

[16K] The QNAP does extremely well using auto negotiation on my mixed network. All 10 Gb network cards (OWCPCIE10Gb) from B&H run at rated speeds. Direct 10 Gb transfers between (2) computers with NVMe drives averages slightly over 1 GigaByte/s. Primarily purchased for large backup image and rendered file transfers between multiple computers and a backup server using CAT6a (10'-30') and CAT8 (95'-120') cables. No dropouts during multiple transfers taking place. Plays well with the 2.5 Gb cards and (1) ancient Intel 1.0 Gb card still in the network as well. Also will support up to (8) VLANs, link aggregation and Spanning Tree Protocol.

Management is web based, straightforward and easy to set up or change using either the MGMT RJ45 port or web browser connected via the RJ45 or SFP+ ports. Used an SFP+ module to test all SFP+ ports. All port properly negotiate to NIC rated speeds.

Switch is quiet even though the twin fans spin at 4k+ RPM. (3) fan curve options in setup. The front and top surfaces stay between 89° to 94°F (pyrometer checked). SFP+ module tops out at 95°F on the exposed faces under load. Rated maximum power is 48.6 watts. Internal DC power supply with a 120V AC cord instead of a clumsy 4+ amp power brick.

Have a few more 10Gb cards to purchase yet. Only had it for a few weeks, but it's certainly been doing the job. About the same price as a Netgear 10 port 10Gb managed switch, 4 ports of which are only 2.5Gb. Only about $50 more than a Buffalo 8 port 10 Gb unmanaged switch.

A switch that you can grow into instead of out of for a SOHO network. It's a keeper fer shur.

[Yes] This is one of very few fanless 10G switches, for barely more than a 1G switch. Seems to work fine so far. If you don't already have a running 10G network to connect it to, you will need to use a 1000Base-T SFP to connect it to your existing infrastructure so you can set it up, in my case to manually set the speed of the uplink to a SFP (not SFP+) switch down to 1G otherwise it would not negotiate.

[1.04 Tb/s ] This switch was a breeze to deploy, and we've seen a huge improvement in quality across all of our NDI devices compared to our previous Cisco switch, which was forced on us by our IT group.

[1.04 Tb/s ] It works great. Bear in mind that while you can use 10GBASE-T copper adapters, the switch can only handle up to 4 of them due to power and heat. Same with DAC cables. You can mix and match DAC and 10GBASE-T up to 4 total. Ports support 802.3ad/LAG/LACP so you can aggregate uplinks from the older G1 Unifi switches as well.

All in all, it does what it says, it's passively cooled and pairs well with a Dream Machine Pro/SE.

[22.05 lb] I have primarily used HPE/Aruba switches for the last 20 years but they are becoming more and more expensive and more difficult to recommend to small clients. I tested out a Netgear M4300 3 years ago and it had all of the features I needed for a much better price.
This is actually the 4th Netgear M4300 model I have purchased and its a great device. It has a large feature set similar to the HPE/Aruba switches I have used before. The web and command-line interface are both fairly intuitive. The manuals are very detailed.

[Yes 1 RU] initial setup looks promising — much less frustrating to spin up AV/IP network for media production business using Netgear’s AV line compared to the nightmare I went through fighting with Ubiquiti’s enterprise switches.

Sidenote — Netgear’s AV support team is a secret hidden in plain sight as a dedicated premium support channel which we’d otherwise expect to pay for from other vendors. Really impressed in the investment being made by the top @ Netgear — I’ll continue purchasing in the future if so.
