  • Connect timecode and metadata from Lockit or NanoLockit to RED cameras.
  • This cable is constructed of premium-quality, high-end material.
  • The cable features a braided shield instead of the usual wrapped shield. Because it is denser, this shield is more efficient at protecting against RF interference.
  • Instead of PVC—as commonly found on low-cost cables—the cable's jacket is made of polyurethane wherever possible, preventing the plug and cable from breaking off, even after frequent untwisting and twisting.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can this use with C300MKII and Sound Devive Premix6 as the C300mkII has a timecode input with sdi cable, does NanoLockit has a SDi adapter?

A: According to Ambient: The NanoLockit does not have a SDI port. To supply the Canon C300 MKII with time code, you have to use the camera's BNC TC port. For syncing up this camera with the new Sound Devices MixPre-6, you will need the ACN-ML-D double pack and the LTC-OUT cable. Ambient Recording LTC-OUT Lockit Time Code Out to BNC / L5P-BNC B&H # AMLTCOUT

Q: 2. If I am plugging this into a dslr to jam timecode on the camera, am I still able to record audio on the camera, or this unit takes up BOTH camera audio channels?

A: The Ambient Recording ACN-NL-L NanoLockit Miniature Timecode Synchronizer with Logging Feature (2-Pack) (B&H# AMACNNLLD) can deliver timecode to one channel of the audio recorded by a typical two channel (typically called stereo) audio recording capable camera. As such, you would still have the other channel free for recording audio from a microphone or other audio source.

Q: 3. Does the NanoLockit 2-pack come with any cables to connect to camera?

A: The Ambient Recording ACN-NL-L NanoLockit Miniature Timecode Synchronizer with Logging Feature (2-Pack) (B&H# AMACNNLLD) does not come with timecode synchronization cables. However, please see the ACCESSORIES section of this product webpage to select the option that's appropriate for your device.

Q: 4. My nano do not work with Sony Venice , I send lemo 5 pin and BNC

A: This Time code cable from Ambient Recording for the NanoLockit and Sony Venice camera would need to be added to the kit. https://bhpho.to/3KdmUiQ

Q: 5. Does this require an audio recorder or some other device to send timecode to it?

A: The Ambient Recording NanoLockit Miniature Timecode Synchronizer with Logging Feature generates its own timecode.

Q: 6. If a nanolockit its connected to my panasonic gh5 will the camera internal mics still record audio and if the Panasonic DMW-XLR1 XLR is connected?

A: If the camera has no XLR adapter and you plug the NanoLockit's time code cable into the 3.5 mm jack, the camera's internal microphone is off.If they feed it into one of the inputs of the Panasonic DMW-XLR1 XLR Microphone Adapter B&H # PADMWXLR1 , you can still connect a microphone to the second XLR.

Q: 7. Can timecode work on two cameras that cannot be set at the same frame rate?

A: Timecode cannot work on two cameras with different frame rates.

Q: 8. Can you purchase/add additional units (Lockits) for multi cameras, or do they need to be purchased in pairs (send & receive)? I would like to buy the 2 pack now and buy another unit or two later when needed to sync multi cams/audio recorders.

A: Yes it is possible to get a single Lockit if necessary. Ambient Recording NanoLockit Wireless Timecode Generator (Single) B&H # AMACNNL MFR # ACN-NL

Q: 9. Can it be use with a RED dragon and Sounddevice mixpre3 ?

A: I'm sure you can feed the TC in on the Sound Devices with the cable included with the nano lockit. However, the Red cameras need a proprietary adapter cable to feed TC in through a BNC connector. That means you'd also need the lemo to BNC output cable for the nano lockit. Hope that makes sense!

Q: 10. I am looking for a good solution to mount this to a camera. Is there a 1/4-20 mount (or similar) for this?

A: There is no mount made specifically for the Ambient Recording ACN-CL. Often times people use velcro patches or ties to fasten the unit to a rig. Alternatively, you can look at some of the 1/4-20 clamps we have. I recommend using a patch of velcro though.

[1x LEMO 5-Pin] I have Ambient nanolockits and was looking at Slates between all manufactures. I'm a location sound person and do post work for film, music and broadcast. I read the instructions, put in the batteries, fed my nanolockit with timecode, hit sync and all worked flawlessly for two 10 hours days of shooting. The stand/handle is nice and I'll be making a better option for keeping it onset if a safe manner. The 1/4 thread is nice so I can mount to a stand. The batteries barely were used after the first day. I wish it had come with the usb cable. It is modular so a tiny bit of rattle between the parts but I din't mind after a day. It came with a marker with velcro. The clamp on the sticks doesn't hold a marker or the one supplied. I assume that's what it for? The case is nice. It was just released so more information is on the way and hopefully the new updated nano's will show up soon.

[Polyurethane] I use the Nanolockits to sync multiple BGH1 cameras to the Mixpre. They save a lot of time in post. After each unit is set, I can create multiple set ups and still be in sync. The Nanolockits are extremely helpful and built to last. Highly recommend!!

[0.145 lb] I use this unit as the master synchronizer for the Nanolockits. It's much faster than changing settings from a computer. It's built to last and easy to use. I couldn't be happier.

[0.145 lb] As a production company owner and a location sound specialist, this product sits at the hub of my new timecode corral of recently tamed horses. At the start of the day, I can now simply jam up the SD 633, this guy and a gaggle of Nano Lockits, and proceed confident that proper timecode is going on every file on every camera and sound recorder all day long.

But, it's the pro touches that cinch the deal... The readout gets brighter and dimmer as needed automatically based on a photo sensor. It even flips the readout upside down for tail slates - SLICK. Plus, it has a nice ergonomic handle that doubles as a kick-stand. It can keep a constant jam with all other Ambient ACN devices on set - way farther than Bluetooth. And, it sips power from four Lithium AA batteries efficiently. The lockit box on the back even gives a simultaneous display so the 2nd AC can know the TC without having to open the sticks on a dark set.

The best part of all? It just works, and I don't have to think about it again after I jam everybody up first thing.

That said, there are some oddities with the case I don't particularly care for... There should be bigger pouches for markers. Putting things in said pouches shouldn't prevent the thing from actually closing. And, speaking of staying closed, the magnetic closure should have been made much stronger. Some additional care is beneficial when transporting the darn thing - I try to keep it upright.

Just bite the bullet, mate. The editor will love you for it. One last pro tip. Keep some 100% isopropyl alcohol and some cotton cloths handy. These are helpful to completely clean the surface when someone gets a little crazy with their label maker and leaves label adhesive behind.
