Plastic enclosures manufactured from polyvinyl chloride (PVC) are not recommended for archival photographic storage. This plastic, often referred to as "vinyl", is not as stable as some other plastics. It can contain volatile plasticizers acid as it deteriorates.

A stitched sealing method that allows each seal to work independently to resist tearing, unlike straight-line that continue to separate completely once the rip begins. In addition, stitched sealing increases the airflow between pockets and therefore further protects against ferrotyping, moisture.

By placing a loaded file page (negatives must remain emulsion side down) directly on top of the printing paper, it is possible to make sharp contact prints as well as enlargements for testing and proofing purposes.

Q: 3. What's the best way to write on or label these pages?

A: Unfortunately, the ClearFile Archival Plus Negative Page does not have a place to label the page. If you need to label the negative page, I would instead recommend the Print File Archival Storage Page for Negatives, 35mm, 7-Strips of 5-Frames (Binder Only) - 100 Pack, B&H # PR3575100, which does have a strip on the top of the negative sleeve page designed for you to label the page.

Q: 4. What binders fit these pages?

A: The ClearFile Archival-Plus Print Page, Holds Eight 4 x 6" Prints - 100 Pack, B&H # CLP468100, would be compatible for use with either the Print File Premium Series-G Archival Album for G-Series Pages (Black), B&H # PRAGQ, or the Print File Grand Premium Archival Oversized Album Binder (Black) B&H # PRBAGB.

Q: 5. Will 120 Tmax100 or TriX400 fit in these storage pages or do I need to buy bigger?

A: These pages can accommodate any 120 film strips based on the way they are cut.

Q: 6. Are the 2 vertical/portrait photo slots also top-loading? Or are they horizontal-loading?

A: Yes, all of the pockets (including the vertical/portrait pockets) are top-loading.

Q: 7. How thick are these? HAMA has 2 thicknesses. 3.2mm and 2.3mm. The 3.2 for ordinary paper mounts. How thick are ClearFile???

A: The ClearFile Archival-Plus Slide Page, 35mm - 100 Pack is 6 mil / 0.2 mm thick.

Q: 8. What box or binder will hold these ClearFile Archival Plus Negative (10 strips, 4-frame) pages? Two options were suggested in an earlier Q&A but B&H no longer carries one of them, and the other is too expensive for the volume of pages we will need.

A: The Archival Methods 06-102 Binder Box (1.5 O-Ring, Black) B&H # ARBBB is fine to hold these pages.

Q: 9. Will this fit an o-ring or round-ring binder?

A: Yes.

Q: 10. Does it have a label area at the top?

A: I'm sorry,no. If you want a place to write on the top, then you should get the Print file pages. Click the link below to view; https://bhpho.to/2PlruQJ

[0.33 lb] This format for 120 film is perfect. The vertical sleeve makes it harder for my negatives to slip out.

[Polypropylene] Good for contact sheets and heavy duty. They are long but fit in a normal 3 ring binder and dont cause issues.

[0.33 lb] I love shooting 120mm film so I definitely needed negative sleeves. A problem I would have with my 35mm negative sleeves was the difficulty I would have sliding the negatives in and I don't have that problem with this brand which is a big plus! It is very easy to slide them in. They're also durable. I keep all my negatives sleeves in a binder and they have all lasted. I guess the only thing that I don't like is that there isn't a section to write in the names of my series.
