[Download] I ordered this Boom Arm through B&H as a last-minute decision on 05 APR 2020 because many of the Boom Arms available on Amazon at the time had extended delivery timeframes as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. I use it to suspend by Blue Snowball iCE USB microphone and pop filter above my desk as pictured.

This boom arm built very strong. Its joints are stiff, so it's not a good choice for repeatedly folding and extending. If you want a boom arm that you'll repeatedly take down and set up, look elsewhere. For a stationary (fixed location) setup, it's awesome. It holds my mic and pop filter nice and steady.

[Download] What I had before was a cheap boom arm, only about 24. It was pretty terrible. It didn't have the strength to hold up my Samson mic and it was nearly impossible to get it out of the way when I don't need it.


This boom arm is perfect...or as near as I could expect. The 48 are enough that I can position the mic ABOVE my arm-mounted 27 monitors and it will even hold my mic out of my line of sight. It IS a little stiff, but that's okay if it means it can stay in position, even if it gets bumped. It looks pretty sharp as well, unlike the cheap boom arm I had.

[1 User] Some complained that adjusting it is difficult. I have no issue. It is better to be a little tight than a little loose. I adjusted it to where I wanted it and just swing it out of the way when not being used. Perfect. Happier than I expected to be.

[1 User] I have a wide desk, so needed something that was long enough for my needs. This height and length on this arm is perfect for my situation. This boom fit my Baby Bottle Blue Microphone just fine. The tension on the arm is great - not too slack, not too tight. Very satisfied with what I got for the price.

One suggestion I have - I know the G-clamp style mounting is pretty common for these booms, but I wish there was some better non-permanent clamp. No matter how hard you tighten them down, they can still flex a bit when you pull the arm. The package does come with a mount you can screw the boom down, but I didn't want to drill any screws.

[1 User] I needed a longer boom arm for one of my microphones. This isn't quite as smooth as my regular boom which was designed for heavy equipment, but it does exactly what I need it to do - works well and has a much longer reach than most boom arms. In my use case, I only use it for lighter equipment.

[Download] This is the fourth mic boom arm I've tried, and this one does what I need, finally. I have a shelf over my desk, and want the mic to come out over my head just above the frame when I'm recording presentations. This arm is extremely long, giving me great possibilities whether I'm sitting in front of my computer or standing up to present in front of a green screen. The arm will come out completely horizontal if I want. Not only that, but while many boom arms pad only the top side of the clamp, this one has padding on both sides so you won't damage the top of the bottom of the surface you are clamping to.


The one thing to be aware of is that the minimum angle is a little more than 90 degrees. So while the boom arm will extend out very far, there's a minimum distance you will be to the place where you clamped the arm. So keep in mind that if you don't want 48 of extension, you may want to order a smaller model like the MBA38 so as to have more flexibility to get closer to where you clamped the mic.

[Download] This is a really nice arm, and I would expect that given the price. The movement is smooth, its easy to attach a cable to, and has survived my kids moving it all over the place. It comes with two different mounts (clamp and screw-on) so there is some versatility in what you can do.
