The Sony E-mount Sirui T2.9 1.6x Anamorphic Lens Set 35 & 100mm E-Mountfrom Sirui T2.9 1.6x Anamorphic Lens Set 35 & 100mm E-Mountproduces a wider look equivalent to a 22mm spherical full-frame field of view. Suitable for capturing architecture, landscapes, and confined spaces, this lens features rich detail, cinematic, oval bokeh, and artistic lens flairs. This lens produces horizontal blue streaks when pointed at a light source, giving your footage a dreamy or science fiction aesthetic. An image captured in 16:9 is de-squeezed to an anamorphic 2.8:1 aspect ratio, whereas shooting in 3:2 yields a 2.4:1 final image.

A key aspect of anamorphic lenses is oval bokeh, which can gently distort objects and lights in the distance, providing an abstract background for your actors. Its T2.9 aperture produces a shallow depth of field, blurring everything in front or behind the specifically chosen focal plane. This lens incorporates a 1/4"-20 mounting thread and has cine-style geared focus and aperture rings.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What is the image circle?

A: A lens' imaging circle is the size of the circle produced by a lens to create an image. As sensors are usually rectangular in shape, the imaging circle must be larger than the dimensions of the sensor in order to fully and evenly expose the sensor. Sirui does not specify the imaging circle size of the Sirui 50mm f/1.8 Anamorphic 1.33x Lens (MFT Mount), but they do indicate the imaging circle will cover an APS-C sensor, which is larger than the Four Thirds sensor.

Q: 2. can this lens or other anamorphic lens fit SONY DFR AX100?

A: No. This is a fixed lens camera and it doesn't allow for other lenses to be mounted on it.

Q: 3. Can I use the same MFT to E mount adaptor made by Sirui to convert the 35mm anamorphic to E mount on each of these lenses?

A: I'm not aware of the adaptor you are referring to, but if your E-mount Sony camera is an APS-C sensor camera, the Sirui Mars 1.33x Anamorphic Lens Set (MFT, Feet & Meters) could be adapted to your camera using a compatible adapter. The only MFT to E mount adapter we have is the FotodioX Lens Mount Adapter for Micro Four Third Lens to Sony E-Mount Camera (BH #FOMFTNEX), which does not list the Sirui lenses as compatible, so I are unsure how to best adapt the lense to an E mount camera.

Q: 4. Will this work with Canon R7 ?

A: The Sirui 24mm f/2.8 Anamorphic 1.33x Lens (EF-M Mount) will not be able to adapt to Canon RF mount cameras.

Q: 5. Do you have a similar anamorphic lens aet for E/EF Mount?

A: Please review the link for similar Anamorphic lens models. However, Sirui does not offer a similar set in Canon EF mount. EF lens options - https://bhpho.to/3C20WwS

Q: 6. Can I swap the MFT mount for an EF ring?

A: No, the Sirui Mars 1.33x Anamorphic Lens are only in the micro 4/3rds mount and can not be changed to any other.

Q: 7. will not work on the R8?

A: The Sirui 50mm f/1.8 Super35 Anamorphic 1.33x Lens (RF Mount) only covers the s35 sensor area, so the Canon EOS R8 will need to be set into cropped video mode to use the lens on the camera.

Q: 8. does the hard case included?

A: Yes, a hard case is included.

Q: 9. Does it work with bgh1?

A: Yes, the Sirui Anamorphic lenses have a micro-four-thirds mount and the BGH1 has a micro-four-thirds mount.

Q: 10. Does this 35mm aspc lens stay at 35mm or crop when mounted to a canon full frame rf mount body such as the R, RP, R5,R6, etc.?

A: When using the Sirui 35mm f/1.8 Super35 Anamorphic 1.33x Lens (RF Mount) with Full frame cameras the lens view would have a 1.5x crop. The camera must be set to S35 or an APC-C crop mode for the lens to function.

[82 mm x 0.75] This lens is awesome, and produces clean images with real cinematic effects. I have the entire set (35mm, 50mm, 75mm, 100mm, 135mm, 150mm plus the 1.25 adapter that produces a 2x squeeze when paired with the 1.6x anamorphic squeeze of the lenses). The lenses produce uniform colors all throughout the set, and images are sharp wide open at T2.9. Somehow SIRUI has managed to make these primes sharp wide open, but not too sharp, given you that movie like look without any diffusion filters on the front of your lens. If you haven't tried the anamorphic look, you have no idea what your projects are missing. As result of purchasing this set, my G Masters and spherical Cine primes are collecting dust. The SIRUI 1.6x T 2.9 Venus Anamorphic lenses are a great set of glass.

[T2.9] First off. These have to be one of the best budget anamorphics you can get your hands on as of early 2024.

My only small grip is the inconsistent squeeze factor on the 50mm. If you know that it's easy to compensate in post but I would feel a little weary handing off footage from the 50mm lens.

As for the 35mm, I really love how large the FOV is. On the flip side you have to get a subject very close to really feel the anamorphic stuff but outside of that is a very useful focal length

As an owner op these are WELL worth your money

[T2.9] Very happy with this lens, gorgeous cinematic landscape and portrait. Very sharp lens. I use the lens for photography paired with Sony a7riii and a7riv. I do not shoot videos at all.

[T2.9] .I would characterize myself as an amateur filmmaker, or at least a serious hobbyist, who has had no experience with cinematic lenses. This lens was an absolute blast to experiment with. It's a solidly built metal body, with smooth-turning geared focus and aperture rings. It is manual focus, but with the use of focus peaking, very sharp images can be achieved. Not coming from a cinema background, T-stops are a bit mysterious to me, but the wide T2.9 aperture (which I've read is roughly equivalent to f2.1) allows lower ISOs in low light conditions. A nice bonus is the inclusion of a lens pouch. For an example from my first shoot with this lens, visit https://youtu.be/462z64lIzUc. I look forward to playing much more with this fun lens.

[Full Frame] Few people understand what does it mean anmorphic , with this full frame anmorphic you can enjoy with really depth of field as 50mm and wide view as wide angle after De-Squeeze

This is a sharp lens , with videos gears like a high class but there is a disadvantage in the not correct horizon level in the corners , but i can accept that in this lens price , it is like a gift from suriu .

With 8k you can crop and get the good video , so its highly recommend if you have 8k or 6k
