The Merging Technologies MADS MADI I/O Expansion Card Single Modeprovides a MADI channel count of 64 inputs and 64 outputs at 1FS. It can be used to doubles the total MADI channel count to 128 inputs and 128 outputs at 1FS for a Horus, or add a MADI connection to a Hapi interface.

The MADS single mode version is an optical MADI connection ideal for fiber optic cables more than 1970' in length.

A: not recommended this product. My MAC cannot recognize this drive recently and asked to initialize the drive. Doing so I lost all my data there. I tried to reformat and re-initialized once, the problem just came back yesterday.

Q: 4. Two Questions1. Does this support daisy chain? that is can I connect this to my iMac and then connect my GPU box to the Sonnet? 2. Can I connect it to my iMac with Thunderbolt2 adapter?

A: Yes, it supports daisy chain, via a second Thunderbolt3 port on the back.I connect my MacBook Pro using a Thunderbolt2 adapter. You lose performance, of course, but the functionality is all there.

Q: 5. Will Black Magic Decklink 8K work in this?

A: Yes, the Black Magic Decklink 8K will work with the Sonnet Echo Express SE PCIe Card Expansion System.

Q: 6. Does it also work with the latest Macbook Pro 13 from 2015?

A: My MacBook Pro is September 14 and works great. The new Pro should have the same card configuration. This card even worked in my iMac. It did NOT work on my MacBook pro 15 (2012).

A: The Transcend 1TB JetDrive Lite 330 Flash Expansion Card dimensions are 32mm x 24 mm.

Q: 8. Does the Nvidia Connect-X 5 VPI EDR card work with this if we connect it to a hub?

A: While you can connect the Sonnet Echo III Thunderbolt 3 to PCIe Card Desktop Expansion System to Thunderbolt hubs, we do not recommend doing so, as the hub may impact the GPU's performance. It is best to connect your EGPU directly to your host computer's Thunderbolt port.

[24-Bit] For those computers that only have spare PCI x1 slots. Works great, increases the network bandwidth. Recommend if possible getting a computer with at least a spare PCI x4 slot and the 10 Gbe version of this card !!! 5

[24-Bit] Great upgrade for the Expression mixer. I had been using an Apogee interface and wanted more channels, so this is an excellent choice. Plus the option for expanding and using a stage box is great, although for my purpose it’s a studio board connected to the computer. One thing, remember to change the dip switch to use USB, as it comes set for expanded stage box via CAT5. Thanks B&H!! 5

[Up to 384 kHz ] I have been using this in my TS-453D QNAP NAS for about two weeks and I am very happy with the price to performance ratio. I have it connected to my MikroTik 10GbE switch and it's been rock solid - no network disconnects and I max out the transfer speeds allowed by my drive array. I highly recommend getting one of these if you want to add 10GbE networking to your QNAP NAS. 5
