Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Did anyone try to digitize very dry film? My old one doesn't run well on the 8mm projector because of a little bit shorter distance between frames.

A: This machine operates slower than normal 18fps projector speeds. It also uses the sprocket to advance frames instead of a projector's pull-down claw. For these reasons, if the machine is set at the right format (regular 8mm or super 8mm) and the film is rides comfortably over the sprocket and does not tear in the first foot or so, it should work okay. Old dry film can be slightly revivified by wiping it with a 'film chamois' wet with Kodak Film Cleaner while winding the film between two rewinds.

Q: 2. cant use this product whith bose radio?

A: No. This is designed to be connected to wireless wolverine speakers. Enjoy wireless audio streaming and extended range with the Wolverine Data WIOS-AR Wireless Audio Receiver. Using this receiver, you can wirelessly stream music from the WIOS-5.8 speaker system to your existing sound system or amplified speakers. 3.5mm-to-3.5mm and 3.5mm-to-stereo RCA connecting cables are included for simplified system set up. Turn your favorite sound system or amplified speakers into a wireless sound system Play music from the WIOS-5.8 Speakers and from your sound system concurrently Stream music from up to 200' away from your speakers

Q: 3. Regarding the the FPS question: We understand the end result is 30 FPS video. The question in order to purchase is: while recording, does it have the ability to run the film at 18 or 24 FPS?(no Super8 film was ever shot/originated at 30 FPS). thanks

A: It is of course correct that the standard speeds for Super 8 cameras are 18 and 24FPS. Having this device record at those speeds would have the film transferred at the correct and natural speed. However, I am sure the manufacturer defaulted to 30fps, the North American and Japanese TV speed, due to cost considerations. The workaround is to import the video to a NLE (Non Linear Editing) application and slow down the speed there. Not ideal but very close.

Q: 4. can this machine do pal?

A: TV-OUT (NTSC) ONLY. There is no PAL.

Q: 5. Can I copy files from SD card to computer and then to CD? Will files then play from CD player on TV? Can I copy files from SD card to computer and then to a CD? Can I then burn files to a

A: Yes

Q: 6. Will this work with Super 8 negative film? Or is it reversal only?

A: It is designed to work with positive (reversal) film. Keep in mind that it digitizes at a rate of about 2 frames per second. A 30 fps .mp4 file is created by it, so you must use software to adjust the 30 fps .mp4 file down to 18 fps for Super 8 and 16 fps for regular 8 film. If you digitize negative film, you will have to figure out how to invert the picture and do color balance to get the colors right.

Q: 7. Is possible to get the Super 8 movie with audio using this Wolverine MovieMaker?

A: No, it does not record sound.

Q: 8. I have super 8 mag stripe sound films. Any thoughts on sound transfer?

A: It does not allow for sound transfer

Q: 9. Is it posssible to record sequence pictures jpg or tiff etc? I want to make movie with my NLE and with better quality codecs.

A: It only will output to mp4 file format.

Q: 10. Is there a way to have each sequenced frame separately (as in 3,600 jpg files or so) instead of butchering the super 8mm original cinematics with a tragic 30 fps mp4 file? What would happen if I turn off the machine before it renders each separate frame into, again, this sadistic, merciless, and just plain cruel 30 fps mp4 file? Is that possible? Is that at all how it works? Anyone tried this?

A: It records only in the 30 FPS MP4 format. It is possible to capture a single frame in your editing program.

[5 x 4.4 x 0.7"] It's a small thin adapter ring that gives Kase magnetic filters something to stick to. A warning, though: be sure the filters are fully stuck before letting go. The magnetic attraction isn't all that strong unless the filters are fully seated in the adapter. The ring is thin enough that lens shades can still slide over it without problems. It's a nice, convenient system that makes filter usage easy and quick.

[0.21 lb] Well built. The magnet is strong, and the ring is very thin.

[Aluminum] Kade Wolverine filter is awesome. It is so light weight and have very strong magnets. It great to get the heavy weight from my 100mm filter system off my lens.

[0.21 lb] Never miss the opportunity to capture just the right shot. No fumbling around for the right adapter, it's already on the lens. And no frustration at trying to screw on the filter, it just snaps on and you're ready to go. Perfect filter setup.

[8-Point Star] Whether it be a Kase Wolverine neutral density filter, or Magnetic Lens Cap you want to fit, the process all starts with this little blighter.. Ingenious, allowing the original lens hoods to be fitted either way, my experience is limited to Nikon, Zeiss, Fuji, Sigma, Olympus and Hasselblad lenses. I am sure there will be one out there, but I haven't found it yet!

[0.21 lb] As the headline says, they work. Still trying to get the hang of the CPL. Looking forward to putting the ND filters through their paces on my trip to Niagara Falls. The kit is well worth the money, you get several filters with a nice carrying case. The best part is the adapter ring is magnetic so you are not limited to using Laser filters. Just remember to make sure they are magnetic. Highly recommended for the ease of use.
